Hey guys!

I quickly want to just let you know my niece is in Hawaii and the 23-yo criminal who was her "boyfriend" has a court date!

I am feeling much, much better! I have been eating my normal way with mmaybe slightly fewer carbs than I normally do and I am at 128 today, I think I should be back completely within the week

I hope you are all doing well... I can't believe I missed a whole page of posts-- I am totally out of the loop, lol.

And thanks ladies for your support, in my hard time. Things are looking up, and I'll be back tot he boards

Good morning! Pink -- glad to hear your good news!

I woke up this morning to a pleasant surprise: 164! Unbelieveable! I changed my avitar last night to one that is more "honest" in that it actually looks like me. In the old one, I am using my hand to hide my double chin, LOL!!! I have used many disguises in the past -- pillows, the dog, strategic placement of hair or hands, etc. to pretend that I can fool the camera. (As if that even works.)

So Wednesday I started and woke up 1.5 pounds less on Thursday, and 1.5 less on Friday. And the best part is that I am not hungry at all and feel totally motivated which keeps me from going off-plan.

YAY!!!

Oh, and Dharma -- thanks for the info!

Morning! Yay Yello and sjl

Just wondering if anyone drinks protein powder shakes as a snack or meal replacement. Do you know what Barry's thoughts are on these?

Fixed a yummy dinner. Stuffed zucchini with hamburger meat, no sugar added tomato sauce seasoned with italian seasoning and topped with mozzarella cheese. DH loves it. We both had salad with it and fixed Texas toast for DH.

Debbie -- your zucchini dish sounds delish!

I have been reading recipes from websites for using a ketogenic diet to treat pediatric epilepsy -- the diet is very high fat, low protein & carb to prevent seizures. And these sites, often run by a mom, are packed with recipes.

I found one for "waffles" that I wanted to try, with my minor tweak -- basically you use 2 eggs and some cream + sweetener. Bake in a waffle iron for the right shape. Puree a couple of strawberries and fold them into whipped heavy cream. Mmm-mmm!

Yellobrix your new Avi is awesome!! Great pic.

I'm down another lb this morning too. I had one meatball for dinner last night and that's all. It wasn't that hungry but it's still hard not to eat. I LIKE to eat!!! Gives me that warm and cozy feeling.

I have a low calorie day planned today and not a lot of protein because of Happy Hour tonight. I'm planning on having max 2 drinks and planned what I would eat so **crossing my fingers**.

EFGT is about not overeating protein. When I've lowered my protein enough I always lose weight much better. But I'm still confused about how many grams I NEED and how many are more than my body will actually used. I saw earlier a posting that says .5 to 1 gram per KILO of bodyweight. For me, that would be 35 to 70 grams. I wonder if I only eat 35 will that be enough?? I guess I'll just have to experiment a little. Cause with higher fat it's hard to keep calories low and still eat 70 grams of protein, ya know?

hey EFGT friends,

Yellowbrix, your new avi is lovely... I think I might be strategically holding the pupy in mine

Sandy, congrats on your 139

Dixie, I don't have protein shakes because with EFGT I have make sure I don't overdo protein! I can't "afford" that much protein. I do make my own beverages... like a 1/4 C heavy cream in flavored drinks (coffee, cocoa, sodas, etc.)

Lisa, I always wonder about my protein... I guess I just eat an equal amount of protein and carb about 40-60 grams

Good luck at happy hour, I think DBF and I are going out with friends to night so I'll have to be watching my booze lol

Have a good one eveybody!!

Hi gang,

Pink: What great news!!! Let's hope they throw the book at that criminal..!!
and your dniece gets a new start on life!!

Yello: Good for you on the weight loss..Now on the waffle recipe..is that just
eggs/cream/Splenda??? Or is there protein powder involved??

I think protein powder is good..Whey is the best..

Happy Birthday, Sandy..

MK: You need to join our Shangri-La Diet group, dear..cuts the hunger like
a knife..

Lisa: Basically, women our size need about 47 grams MIN..of protein to do the muscle repair, etc..You definitely don't want to go lower than that..But,
if you do fitday, there is protein in alot of stuff out there..And a small scoop of protein powder can really add up, too..

Hi Summer and anyone else I missed..

No protein powder called for in the recipe. I have purchased it in the past and I can't use it because the odor outright gags me. But I have never really been a milk-lover -- not straight up anyway! Love cream, yogurt, butter, cheese, adore chocolate milk (actually that is THE ONLY thing that I miss from the high carb days) but just plain, white milk and also whey, is just ICKY!

No kidding here -- for more than 30 years, every day, my day began with a glass of chocolate milk. Talk about a hard habit to break...

Thanks, everyone, for compliments on my new avitar. Nice not to quake in fear of the camera...
