Pink sorry about your niece - that's so hard!

You do have to set boundaries with people who are in trouble like that though. It's hard to let them suffer their own consequences but sometimes that's just what they need to see the light!! Hope she's okay.

When my daughter got married I found a dress at Penney's of all places!! Even before she found her dress! I bought 2 of them and am happy to say I took the larger size back after the wedding and wore the smaller size. That's been almost 20 years ago!! I'm proud to say that same dress would fit me today. I've been up and down a few times in that time but right now I could wear it. And I hope to stay right here with no more ups.

Hi everyone...still here.
I am still 3 pounds over my friday weigh in but I guess some of that weight lost was also from being sick that week, still a bummer to see the weight going back up.

We'll see tomorrow as thats my official weigh in day.

Tomorrow is the start of another weekend and I am determined to feel good about it come monday morning.
I will enjoy my weekend without locking myself in the house, I know I can do it.

Sorry for being absent and no personals...I was feeling bad about my weight still being up and it really got to me.

See you all in the morning!!

Hang in there Summer. You CAN do this!! You need to find your carrot! Whatever you can dangle in front of yourself to keep you going. For me it's my trips. I know I'm going to be in swimsuit everyday so that keeps me focussed pretty well before I go. Can you think of a carrot for you? If so, maybe you could find some pictures or some kind of visual reminder to put where you can see it throughout the day. Anything to keep your head in the right place. Just don't give up!

Hi guys..

Pink: I feel so sorry for your niece..and I'm sure her mom is really upset. Can they get her into rehab??? I hate to see these young girls go the "wrong way"..and an older guy can do that so easily..Grrr...Sometimes these girls have to hit bottom before they can get up..unfortunately...

Lisa: You will be able to find a dress when you need to..I bought mine at Dillards off the rack..no special mother of the bride stuff..I'm sure you can find something, but I would look no later than May..Just to have a good selection..Hey...you can always have it taken IN, if it's too big..

Summer: We are just glad to see you..and 3 pounds lost is great..We HAVE all been there, but getting back on track is the key..This weight loss thing is not a sprint..it's a journey..for the long term..You have done soooo well. This is just a blip on the screen..Don't beat yourself up..

Sandy: Yes, the dreaded swimsuit "carrot"..I wish the back of my legs looked decent..They are kind of ripply.. so I HAVE to wear a longer suit with legs or a skirt..

Hi ladies..

Good morning..Nice to see Sandy and Lisa on the SLD thread..Who knows???
But this is a very Barry friendly plan..Barry loves fat.. and think how energetic we will be ladies..

Grrr..I ate too much last night..I avoided my afternoon snack and had too much chicken for dinner..grrrr..So, I'm up 1/2 lb..but determined to get back down OVER the WEEKEND..

Hey...I will start a Weekend thread tonight, K???

Catch ya later, gators.

Seriously, Thank you all for your motivating words!
Well I weighed in only 1/2 pound higher than last week, so I have recovered from my st pattys day fiasco nicley and I have learned a big lesson.

Do not get cocky about your weekends! I thought for sure I would be up 2 maybe 3 pounds and it would be off in a day or 2, wrong!

Busy but fun afternoon planned ....bbl

hi all, hope your days are going well...

I just want to say, I love milled flax. My new breakfast fav is 4 TB flax + 4-5 TB water microwaved with cinnamon, stevia, and a dollop of yogurt on top!!

I get my fiber for sure

Hi
I'm here ~ it's just been one of those weeks.

DD20 is home on break - but worst of all, Tuesday my mom went into the hospital for dehydration.

So it's been back and forth trying to juggle kids, spend some time with DD, be there for my mom . . . NEVER have an only child!!!

And then I found out DD20 is going to be in Minnesota for the entire summer!!
May 20 - Aug 26!!!!!!!!! She starts school again on Aug 28!!

I'm better now, but I was devastated when she told me.
I don't think I've ever had the kids be away for so long.
DH says we can visit her - and it's an amazing opportunity for her, but . . .

Anyway.
Sigh.

I've been thinking of you all and I hope to be back to normal - whatever that is - by Monday!

MK I know how you feel! My grown son and daughter both live in Japan!!

Tomorrow is DS14's birthday. He's having 3 friends over so I'll be doing cooking and baking. **Sigh** I love to cook but it sucks not eating what I cook.

My DS28 went through some major emotional issues and I had to place him in a Boy's Home when he was 16 - mid-way through his senior year of high school. I didn't think I would survive THAT, but I did. We had already tried adolescent treatment TWICE, plus months of family counseling, to no avail. When he left the home, he tried going to college and couldn't manage. We were not communicating during that time. In October of that year he called me - from San Diego. He had enlisted in the Marine Corp!! I could not believe it!! Anyway, he did 4 years and got out. Struggled a few more years on his own - then something clicked with him and he realized he was gonna have to be responsible for whatever shape his life was in. He's doing great in Japan, getting married to a wonderful girl in July and we're gonna be at the wedding in Spain!! I learned through all of that how to LET GO and let my children live their own lives. It was EXTREMELY hard, but I'm grateful now.

My daughter moved in with her dad when she was a senior in high school - much to my dismay. She's 23 now. She graduated in May from college (in Arkansas) and her brother invited her to Japan. She's gonna work there for a year then come back to the states to go to grad school. We talked on the phone every day before she left - now I talk to her once a month!! It's so different. Again, I had to let go and let her do what she wanted. She's already lived on a boat for 2 months chasing Orca whales while she was in college (sort of a foreign exchange program) and that was unbelievably nerve wracking. But it was a great experience for her.

Funny - since she's been in Japan with her brother, he's starting complaining to me that she's IRRESPONSIBLE!! He's already forgotten what he went through.... And she's complaining about his communication skills. I just quietly smile and listen!!! They are both awesome and I don't know where they got all that COURAGE - not from me!!!!

I hope I can be you someday!!

I know it's getting to be time to let go - and I've done pretty well with DD23, it's this one that's giving me the most trouble!

Sigh.

It will happen, I'm just slow about it.

Then DS17 leaves for college in the fall!

It will be DS14 and I . . . oh yeah and DH!

Hi guys..

Yes, our dear kids and our parents..Sorry about your Mom being in the hospital..hope she's better, MK..

Minnesota is a beautiful state to visit in the summer..but that's a long time for your dd to be away..But, at least you DO see her during the school year, so that helps.

Lisa: Wow..isn't it amazing how kids DO turn out..after all those grey hairs they give us..That is wonderful how well everything is going for them..I'm sure you are proud..

You both have kiddos left at home..which is nice.. I just have my cat..but Brett comes home in the summer and vacations..at least for 3 more years..let's hope.

I'll start the weekend thread..

Hi to Sandy, Pink, Shelley, and everyone else..
