newest blood work report!!! woot woot

Hi everyone!! It has been several months since I have been on, what a crazy 2014 it has been! I hope this finds everyone well!

Well I am happy to report that Monday I will be 8 months potato free.

I'll admit potatoes are my drug or alcohol... I never thought I'd go one day much less the rest of my life! So I'll admit to being more than a bit proud of myself.

Here are the numbers (original diagnosis and followup results:
aug 2013 a1c = 6.9
nov 2013 a1c = 5.8
apr 2014 a1c = 5.2

I told the dr I would do this myself with diet. I have been incredibly vigilant and now have numbers in the normal range. Yes I'd like them to be even lower, but I am so grateful.

Test! Test! Test! Unfortunately, insurance will only pay for 1 test strip a day, so I have to purchase my extra strips out of pocket. But luckily Amazon has pretty good prices on my test strips.

YEAH!!

Happy Dance for helenback! Those numbers are amazing!

Congratulations on kicking the potato habit. I have not touched them for months...but the memory lingers.

I ordered a small fry with my bunless McDouble yesterday for a treat. I only do this about once a year.
2 hours later my BS was 186. After 3 hours it was down to 118.
By evening I could feel the ache in my knees.
I know better.

Your hard work is really paying off. I know for me, seeing my numbers improve gave me the incentive to keep working the plan.
Congratulations. Your success is proof to all of us that low carb works.

I go to the dr. today (I get my results online before dr's appt). I can't wait!

I will admit to being a bit frustrated that my weight is coming off slower than I would like, but this isn't about weight loss it is about eating healthy and at this point my goal is to keep b.s. normal not starving myself.

eeeeee.. still so excited, lol I knew when they gave me that diagnosis that I had to try eating healthy first, I'm just so grateful that is working. Dr Bernstein rocked my world!

Next up is to quit that awful habit of smoking. It seems so "not smart" to work so diligently on b.s and still smoke. So now I am gearing up for that hurdle.

Thanks again y'all for the kind thoughts!
