PGX
Has anyone tried PGX from Dr Hyman's Blood Sugar book? I just drank my first one and feel like I might explode!
![]() I could not eat even half my dinner of taco salad minus taco shell so I guess the decreased appetite is working. I do not have diabetes but figured you guys would be most likely to be familiar with Dr Hyman's book. Thanks |

Exactly what did you use/how did you drink it? I have been thinking about trying it. Will be interested to see if anyone else responds.

Pgx daily singles. Granules I pour into my 16oz water, but can sprinkle over food too. 2.5g per serv. fills you up so you won't eat so much. Basically fiber and is supposed to keep your blood sugar from crashing after a meal. Took two doses today. So far so good. I did not snack between lunch and dinner but I was hungry and ate all my dinner so not as filling as yesterday (first dose).

Here's the info about the capsules at the Costco site:
Serving Size: 2 Softgels Servings Per Container: 90 Amount Per Serving - % Daily Value:* Calories 20, Calories from Fat 10, Total Fat 1 g - 2%, Saturated Fat 1 g - 6%, Total Carbohydrates 1.5 g - 1%, Dietary Fiber 1.5 g - 5%, Soluble Fiber 1 g - **, Protein 1 g, PGX® (PolyGlycopleX®) Proprietary Blend [Highly purified fiber blend processed using advanced proprietary technology: Konjac-mannan (Amorphophallus konjac) (root), Sodium Alginate, Xanthan Gum] 1500 mg - **, Medium Chain Triglycerides (from purified coconut oil) 1200 mg - **. I thought I remembered that the G of PGX was probably glucomannan (konjac root). Check out the glucomannan thread on the boards (Recipe Sticky Threads section). Be careful and don't overdue this stuff and definitely drink a lot of water when taking it.
