How did I do it? By sticking to a high fat/moderate protein/low carb WOE. It's the only way I can eat and not have to take meds. The meds make me sick so it's just the way it has to be. It's also what has helped me to lose 50lbs so far.

Wow, that's encouraging. I'm 3 months new at this WOE and will be retested in April. I'm hoping to see a drop in my A1c number but am not sure if only 3 months will do it. I guess I'll find out soon enough. Congrats!

Thanks everybody. Haferchamp, three months should be enough time to tell a difference. I hope you will share your results with us.

I'll be sure to post my results come April. So far the low carb WOE is working great. I feel better, have lost a few pounds, and my mood swings haven't been quite so erratic! Plus i'm not hungry and don't have cravings! Who would have thought! I test, test, test anything new I incorporate into my meals so I'll know if I have any spikes. Plus have read all the recommended books to educate myself. If there is anything else I should be doing I'd love to hear it. Thanks!
