First day zoloft for menopause panic attacks low sugar?
I started having bad panic attacks 2 weeks ago. Horrible things. My mother had them but we just thought she was 'nervous '. My older sister has gone through them and now I started. I was hoping I could sail through this unscathed but.... Not hot flashes or 'normal ish' things.
Went to the dr yesterday because I was afraid it was my heart or blood pressure I am still going to have tests done to make sure it's not that. EKG was fine. She said they are classic panic attacks and prescribed low dose of zoloft and Xanax in case of an attack and only use it if one comes on. I started zoloft this morning. My question to anyone is: my bs was just 76 before lunch. One does zoloft lower sugar? And I'm due for a MetFormin but not sure if I should take it if my sugar is already low.

Well I just called the dr and the nurse told me not to take it. And to check my sugar levels and if low don't take it.
Wanted to post in case anyone else was interested |

That's interesting. I'm going to have to research zoloft and bloodsugar. I've been taking zoloft and metformin for a while and it doesn't seem to affect me, but I'll watch more closely from now on.

Yeah, I'm going to continue to monitor my sugar as I'm going forward with the zoloft I may need to start taking the metformin when my body levels off.
I did a little research on the net and found out the diabetics that started taking zoloft for depression noticed lower blood sugars as a 'side effect' I was always a little more confident thought that being on Metformin wouldn't let me go to low......so if i don't take it now I'm having anxiety that I'll go too low. go figure, I'm a wreck............... |
