High morning readings

My readings in the morning have been high lately. I know this is fairly common. I am a type 2 Diabetic trying to control this by eatling low carb without meds. I know none of us are doctors here BUT is there a better time to eat the most carbs of the day? Maybe if I eat them say at lunch it would be better?

i try to stay away from carbs first thing in the AM--they shoot my bgs high and keep it high most of the day. i can handle a few carbs better at dinner time--sweet potato, mashed root veg, that sort of thing. good luck!

Dr. Bernstein says that carbs are handled less well in the morning. He recommends that 30 carbs per day be distributed 6 - 12 - 12.

I'm on meds..and consistently my fasting numbers and morning numbers were much higher than the rest of the day. It may be what you are eating or when..but it may also be that you're someone who's liver dumps glucose. He put me on NPH overnight and now my my numbers are consistent all day.

Good luck.

I am much more sensitive in the morning. I eat virtually no carbs in the A.M. - mostly eggs and bacon - and save any carby stuff for lunch.

Also, too many carbs at dinner = higher morning numbers for me.
