Vinegar & Dawn phenomenon

Hello everyone,I have read all about the healthy stuff ACV can do,So I started drinking 1 Tablespoons Apple cider vinegar in a cup of water 2 x before bed.then one more glass of plain water to wash away the acid Thought I would share two days of Morning readings 82yesterday & 68 this morning needless to say I am backing off on the metformin, My #s day time are fine as long as I stay LC My A1C was 5.3 last month labs My fasting insulin was high over a year ago that is why the Dr put me on 2500mg metformin But #s were still 98-113 in the morning. So I will keep checking. After reading all the bad stuff insulin does in the body I will try just about anything to keep it down.

Morning tybeeanna,

Can I ask you what you are eating at night and when you are taking your metformin? I have been using the apple cider vinegar the last few nights and my morning numbers are still in the 110's. I take 1000 of metformin morning and evening. I find if I take the metformin right before bedtime I sleep better thru the night but I would sure love to find a way to get those mornng numbers down without having to raise my level of nighttime metformin.

Thanks!

Merski ,Good evening .Are you taking 1 or 2 Tablespoons ? To be truthful the last few days I have been worse than bad, eating, so I don't think it is what I am eating so much as it is the vinegar, My # during the day if I watch what I eat are pretty good Just the Insulin resistance that kicks up the morning # s last night I took my 1500 mg about 1 hr before bed with 2 Tablespoons vinegar and got up with a 68 reading So I fixed my week worth of pills and made sure to only put 500 mg for night time. again my a1c was 5.3 last labs and my morning # run the highest have been under 120.

thanks tybeeanna. I only had one tablespoon in one glass of water. I'll now try the two tablespoons and see how that works.

I eat well during the day but my evening meal and morning numbers aren't where I would like. Guess I know what my 2012 resolutions will be! I'm glad you have been sharing your results with us!

Tybeenna, I am so glad this is working for you. I wish it would work for me. I get so frustrated with my mornng numbers. Even with 1000mg of metformin at bedtime and just having meats and veggies my numbers are still about 110 thru 116 in the am. and thanks for the suggestion, I will go back to Jenny's site and see what else she suggests for dawn syndrome.

Good morn, Woke up at 4;30 thought I would check 69# went back to bed got up at 10;00 rechecked 101#. did not eat or drink anything at 4:30 so if I can get my sleep pattern down and my eating back where it needs to be I think I'll be good to go for a while.

I've been drinking ACV with the Mother (sediments in it) for about a year now and not only has it helped me lose weight, it's really helped with my numbers. I highly recommend it! I take 2 tbls in the morning and 2 tbls at night mixed with a small amount of cranberry juice. I drink it with a straw to keep it away from my teeth and then drink water afterwards. It also gives me energy throughout the day. The stuff might smell bad and taste bad, but the benefits are well worth it!

I usually buy 3 or 4 bottles at a time so I won't run out so soon. When Ifirst tried it, I was thinking this would probably not work but thought what the heck, I'll give it a try anyway. Usually I don't keep up with these kinds of things but I sure have with this because it works. For one lady on the board, it lowered her blood pressure to really good numbers. I plan to continue taking it for as long as I can find it and if the place here in my town stops carrying, I'll be ordering it on line. Good, good stuff. And it's completely natural.

If you are worried about it going to low you might try some thing that digest realy slow.
Like a small green apple or some uncooked corn startch before bed. I think uncooked
corn startch takes about 6 hours to digest!

I need to get back to this! ACV helps with SO many things! I'm also back (2 months) at being a compliant little diabetic, so we'll see what it does there.
As far as too low: I feel AWFUL if my bs is under 85.
I have read in several places that a small apple with a bit of sugar free nut butter before bedtime really helps with high morning bs readings. Haven't tried it yet...

I think I heard that a 6 oz glass of dry red wine right before bed usualy helped
most of all.
