? about symptoms
I have a very strong family history of type 2 parents, brother, nephews are the closest relatives but also goes back generations.
My fasting has never tested above 100 but lately I have been eating way too many carbs it is almost like the more I eat the hungrier I get. Anyway even though I am eating excessive carbs not complex but mostly cakes, cookies and pretzel type stuff I am losing weight and urinating a lot. I googled and can't really find any definitive answers as to whether this could be the onset of type 2. I am 48 now and I know I really need to get the carbs out of my diet because like I said with my family history I am headed for trouble. Any one have any experience with these type of symptoms? Thanks |

Your symptoms sound exactly what I was experiencing in January. I was diagnosed in July.
Quit the carbs and see your doctor. --bill |

Does you feel constantly thirsty? Are you getting up several times during the night to go to the bathroom? Do you feel sluggish / lathargic (especially after eating all of those carbs)? Does your eyesight feel strained? These are signs. If you are predisposed, I would get my BG checked once or twice a year (and cut out the carbs now - wishing I did instead of going into denial).

The way this works is that the so-called "beta" cells in your pancreas burn out as you over-burden them. Eventually, you reach a point where there aren't enough left to deal, and you're a diabetic. If you take charge now, you'll probably never get to that point, and some of the "offline" beta cells can even come back. |
