can you help with a blood sugar question?

I posted this on the main board and it was suggested that this would be a better place to put it. So here goes..

Good morning! I bought some dreamfields pasta and wanted to test my blood sugar to make sure it would not affect me and I am suprised so far by the results I have gotten. I am not diabetic but diabetes is prevalent in my family and I have a monitor to keep an eye on things now and then. When I woke up this morning my fasting blood sugar was 50. I ate a 4 cho. pita with cream cheese and smoked salmon. Two hours later and my blood sugar is only up to 61. I've had my blood lab checked before and have always been in the normal range but this is lower than I expected. Is this normal in a lc lifestyle or is this something I should have checked out? I always have a hard time getting up in the morning and now I guess I know why. Do you have any suggestions for me? Thank you for any help that you can give. I feel okay, sluggish with a bit of a headache but other than that I feel alright. My mom who is diabetic wants me to call the doctor and even went as far as suggesting drinking a little coke to see if it raised my blood sugar but I really don't want to do that.

I wonder if it's a false reading? Some monitors are not very accurate. Maybe try your mom's or someone else's (with your own lancet of course). I do think some medical tests are in order to see what's going on. Maybe do eat more carbs, but healthy ones, like veggies? Ever try V-8?

One thing for sure is you should keep monitoring and experiementing until you find what works (BS in the 80's).
