Blood Work results

Just got my bloodwork results from the doc. In 2004 my numbers were all 'normal' ---this was after being on Atkins 5 months. I then hit my goal --of 130 lbs--.

Then over the years I started eating more and more carbs and gained around 25-30 lbs back.

(I had this test done about 2 weeks IN to my Atkins unduction, which was a few weeks ago. Since this time Ive been doing GREAT with NO CHEATS and Ive added excersize.)

I know these numbers are high, but the doc just said to keep my healthy eating and excersize. She didnt seem OVERLy concerned but any advice as to how I can improve my numbers??

Cholesterol 263 H
Triglycerides 119
HDL 55
LDL 184

2006 results[/U]
Cholesterol 216H
Trig 53
HDL 57
LDL 148

i think the numbers are really good---i've always heard total is meaningless, its the trigs and hdl that are important---there are a lot of knowledgable people on here that i am sure can help you

Sounds like you know what you need to do ... the 5 months of 2006!! You'll get there!! Also google "cinnamon" - studies where it is helpful for lowering cholesterol and they do make gel capsules you can take, so you do not stain your teeth.

You'll get there again!!!!

The total isn't important. The triglycerides and hdl are. Yours are pretty good, especially the hdl. If you keep on Atkins, your triglycerides will drop below 100. Great job Michelle!

keep eating LC and let the numbers show for themselves. I bet your good cholesterol will jump to at least 70 in the coming months.

at my last check up my trigs were 46 and my hdl was 113, but my total was 319 and ldl 197, a lot of knowledgeable people on here said i probably had the fluffly type particles in the blood and not the dense kind, ,my dr wanted me on the meds for lowering the cholesterol, but i told her i wouldn't , she wasn't to happy---i am not going to worry about the total, when i have such good trigs and hdl---again i think your numbers are pretty good---maybe Bloodsugar101--- will come on here and explain it a little better, or go to her website--- her name and dot com---this lady knows her stuff!!
