Some feedback please
I think this is ok--but need some feedback
Total Cholesterol is 247 LDL 151 HDL 85 triglycerides 53 LDL particle size is 21.3 which is pattern A--large Large HDL-P 15.1 Large VLDL-P 0.7 LDL-P is high 1296 which is above optimal small LDL-P is 128 which is moderate My understanding is that the real risk here is my LDL-P of 1296--any advice from anyone here? How do you make sense of these numbers. TIA Ouis |

Hi Ouis-
I just had a VAP test to check particle size, and my understanding is that your high HDL, low trig, and BIG LDL particles are ideal--I have a similar pattern. But I just checked my lab report, and I don't see any LDL-P listed, so you seem to have had a different type of test. However, there's a line on my report that lists a negative (related to LDL), and when we went over the test, my endo told me to ignore that because it's just generated in relation to total number (i.e., doesn't allow for particle size), so it's basically irrelevant. That may be the issue with your number? Are you going just by what the lab report says, or did you doctor tell you that it was a problem? If the former, it may be something like I have on my lab report. Because we have the typeA LDL, the higher number (normally a negative) is actually good for us because it indicates more heart protection. |

chol 149 trig 82 hdl 54 ldl_cl 79 vldl 16 c_hdl 3 ( what is this? could it just be the hdl to total chlosterol ratio) |
