Got an NMR Lipo test- help with reading?
Can anyone help reading this NMR Lipo test?
I wanted to get actual readings on the LDL instead of calculated, so I bought this blood workup. I would apprecaite assistance in figuring out what it all means. LDL-P 2003 small LDL-P 856 Cholesterol/total 239 LDL-C 170 HDL-C 51 Triglycerides 88 LDL particle size 21.6 Lg HDL-P 12.5 Lg VLDL-P .3 Can anyone tell me what all this means? I've been on a low-carb diet (no more than 20g Carbs a day) for almost 1 year. I've lost weight (very slowly) on the diet (about 30 lbs in that year) and am still needing to lose another 50 lbs to meet my goal. While the weight loss is slow, it is consistent and I don't really want to loose the momentum I've built up by having to switch off low-carb as the Doctor has suggested. Nothing else really worked for me in the past (diets). Again, any help in determining what these numbers really mean would be appreciated. I did hear something about partical size being an important factor in heart diseiase, but not sure what my results indicate. THANKS Last edited by Leatherlips; 10-05-2009 at 05:33 PM..
