Got my
I saw my primary care last week and he told me he was going to do a new type of cholesterol test.
I just got my results in the mail. To begin, I am hypothyroid, arthritic, have high blood pressure. Because I have lost 20 lbs, he lowered my blood pressure meds and here are the results of my fasting (did not eat anything since 6P the previous night. I did take my levoxyl, cholesterol meds before the visit). Fasting blood sugar: 94 Thyroid: 0.03 (comment: overmedicated/too high total Cholesterol: 194 (May 08, total was 238) HDL/Good: 49 (May 08, was 60 LDL/Bad: 128 (May 08, was 148 Partical #1814 (comment: goal less than 1300 to 1600 - there is a smudge on the paper, but I think that is what he wrote) Triglicerides: 87 (May 08, was 152) His advise, lowering my thyroid meds; and consider zocor (if I am reading his writing correctly, which I assume must be for cholesterol. I am currently on lovastatin. On the paper, he checked off what was acceptable and what was not. The thyroid was checked and the LDL. I guess I am wondering what the Particle # means in all of this. Thanks in advance. So, what do the experts think. __________________ Barbara 3/23/09 - 6/22/09: 20 lbs lost 6/29/09: 199 (last time I was under 200 was back in 2002) It is a fight to the death - my death. LaDonna,
Well, it has been as high as 193/123 and as low as 160/102 and fluctuating. So losing 20lbs made quite a difference as I am now 123/80 and this morning, I was 90/65. Now, when it was 193/123, I was very stressed at work, but that is what had gotten me very concerned, and that was taking a milder bp bill. It was after I saw my doctor that he put me on a stronger med which I was on for one year and he just reduced to lisinipril. I think I am now going too low, I don't feel well at all this morning, dizzy and lightheaded and that is how I felt a few weeks ago doing yard work, but all I did was get out of bed. Do what you can to help your bp. |
