helo with cholesterol results

help me if you can my doc just called and said "here are the results"

he said my total cholesterol is 211 (they like it to be at 200)

my good cholesterol is 59 (they like it to be at least 55 so mine is higher)

my bad cholesterol is 139 (he didnt really tell me if this bad or so so)

he didnt sound like he was really worried about it though.

what do you think?

and can someone tell what my good/bad cholesterol is called hdl or ldl i get confused about which is which.

I get confused too but the LDL is the bad cholesterol and the HDL is the good cholesterol. I understand the ratios are what counts. You can look at the cholesterol sticky at the top for lots of info. on how to compute the ratios, etc. It looks like yours is fine.

I would not worry at all. They sound good to me. And if your doc isn't, I would research the above like Jonah's granny said.
