Hoping to be in onederland by the end of August!

Hello Everyone,

I'm coming in here with my head hanging. What I'd really like to do is swear up a storm and I'd also kick rocks if there were any under my computer desk, but there aren't. On the 13th I decided to go off plan for ONE day. I've done it before and it usually helps me. Well, this time I couldn't get back on. I didn't eat anything too horribly, like a whole cake or anything, but in 2 days I actually gained 9 lbs.!!! Who in the heck gains that kind of weight in 2 days?? This stinks so bad. It's SO easy for me to put it on. I did manage to jump back on the wagon 2 days ago and now I'm back down to where I was at last weigh-in. So mad, though, that I wasted an entire week!

Sometimes I wish I was a drug addict instead of a food addict. If you're a drug addict and decide to walk away, you never have to be around drugs again if you choose not to. But you ALWAYS need food. I'll be talking to God about this one day when I see him....hopefully a long time from now! There is something messed up with this food thing of his. Well, anyway.....thanks for letting me rant. I guess I should try to stay on plan from now on, although I wonder how I'll ever learn to eat normally if it's always this difficult. I was hoping to maintain with some form of JUDD plan when I get to goal, but it seems I'll only be good at the eating days and not the fasting days.

I hope everyone is doing a LOT better than I was. Thanks for reading/listening.

Anna- Curious; What is a "fat fast"?

FarmGal- I say the same thing! I quit my other addictions in my past because I could just not use them. Food is needed and the having to limit is so much harder than just not eating. Was easier quitting smoking and drinking than it is to get to a healthy weight augh

To everyone, we still have a whole week to reach our goals!

Jesse--- sure I'll tell u what i know...thing is are u still dealing with acid reflux? & I thought I read you are pregnant? Just my opinion if I were pregnant I wouldn't restrict anything at all in my diet... not even carbs.. and I wouldn't be on any type of weight loss diet!!!!!!

So, I hit a wall and was bouncing 297-302 for like 3wks I tried to break the plateau....finally I did a Google search and thru that found FAT FAST Dr. Adkins.. its in one of his books i guess...it was advised, if after being stuck at a weight or you need to get into ketosis quick, you could use his FAT FAST TEMPORARILY 1-3days, to get back on track.

I only read thru it quickly but it goes like this........... you eat less than 1000 calories/day and try to keep the carbs below 10g maybe 6g (anyways as low as possible) and this is important----- you eat almost all your calories from fat... and divide your calories up and eat a small amount like 200-300 calories at a time. So it's like mini-meals. For example-- I ate a 8oz. Block of cream cheese divided up 4 times and used heavy cream in my coffee which I drink all day...(I can do that bc I love cheese) You are not hungry with this... bored maybe... but tummy never growls. You can find out fat fast mini-meal recipes someplace on line I can't remember where.. if you do a search u can find out more.

When I first tried it for 3 days I didnt lose but 2-3 days after I started losing again Now when I do it I can usually lose a pound the first day... Weird. I guess it depends where your metabolism is at that particular time. I only do one day here and there.

Yippee! My mom was very supportive and tried to have foods I could eat in her house and was trying to convince my dad to join on the bandwagon.

Jesse-way to go on that loss! I feel like when I'm running errands I keep my mind focused on getting things done and forget about snacking and end up walking so much that it helps! Since I'm not an original southern girl, I'm sensitive to the heat, gives me migraines. So I do my walking around a target or lowes or the mall. Yes, I've become a "mall walker" at the ripe old age of 27. Haha, but it's nice and cool

Nykhoel- Thanks, you're doing great this month too. And yea errands take soooo long as hubby always wants to go to 5 to 7 places. And I'm giving the kids snacks and especially if I'm riding, not driving, it's hard to not give in some days. Need to get back in habit of making sure to bring snacks for me that I already planned to have. I'm not an apple lover like them but they get a junk snack on errand day too like cheese puffs or mini donuts. The mall walking is funny because I remember when I was younger taking friend to work and mall was open but most of stores not yet and there were elderly people everywhere doing laps. I'm sure the malls here in Florida are the same, to beat the heat. Whatever works for you and helps you reach your goals is awesome :-)

Headed today to try again on the 3d/4d as she was facing my spine when we tried two weeks ago. Fingers crossed! Planning to go out to eat afterwards but Not to buffet this time haha. Seafood sounds good. Did great while out shopping yesterday with sticking to the snacks I brought. 100 cal bag of kettle popcorn and a fiber one cookie.

JoanneO - Maybe it's water? I read about 'whooshes' and that water holds the place of fat sometimes for a few days then it comes off overnight. Either way if you stuck to your plan then it will be coming off!

Jesse - I love that 100 cal kettle corn. Good on you for bringing snacks, that really helps me too. Thanks, it might be some water, but once I tracked my food from yesterday I realized I way overdid it on cheese. It is my downfall some days.

Welllll. I'll take it I guess. I did go to the gym yesterday, so I bet my saddle is gonna be sore later. We did a LOT of lower body excersizes. My booty is gonna HURT!

You gals are doing great. Jesse, I get the part of wanting (needing) to lose weight while pregnant. I did that with my 3rd kid. Actually, I didn't "lose" weight, but I only gained a total of 13 lbs (which is pretty much losing). You are doing FABULOUS. I know how hard it is. But MAN, when that baby comes out, and you've lost most of that water weight, you will have the swoosh of all swooshes!! Good luck! I'm cheering for you!

Joanne....Ah, cheese....such an easy way to get in too many calories. At least you know what went wrong. I don't have a clue what caused my last 2 ups.
