Hello ladies!! Time for me to get back on track.....weight has been creeping back up since Easter....sure is a lot easier to gain 20 lbs then it is to lose it!!! Oy!! My Dr put me on Metformin back in February to aid me in losing weight...I finally quit taking it in May because I was absolutely miserable...it constipated me so bad ...opposite of what it was suppose to do!! I'm finally feeling like my old self and have that mental peace to get back to losing weight.... I'd like to lose 20 lbs by Labor Day...we will see

Breakfast: Atkins peanut butter granola bar
Lunch: bacon egg and cheese omelet
Supper: chicken chunks marinated in Italian dressing and topped with Parmesan plus a small salad with bacon bits and ranch dressing
Snacks: a few smoked almonds

Lacking in the water dept today....too much dt soda!! Once this is gone I'm not buying anymore!!!!

Overview: Lose 20lbs and cut back on diet soda!! Water Water Water!!!

Colo - very sorry about your mom.

I'm so glad that there are so many people for this challenge. I've had a difficult time this last week so I'm looking to get back on track. We can do this!

Hubby was getting tired of chicken and veggies and got a little creative tonight.
Grilled brats, sliced and sauted with stir fry veggies in pesto/alfredo sauce.
It was pretty tasty!

I've been away from the internet for a few days.

My prayers are for healing, both physically and emotionally, for all of you, but especially those with issues right now. If no one minds, your 'call names' will be on our prayer warriors list.

I'm down to 216.5 this morning. My next doctor's appointment is in September so I'd like to see 199 if at all possible.

Thanks Colo, some days are easier than others, he was 24 yo when he passed. I don't like to think about it -- it's rough. A mother should never out live their child. But I don't have the luxury to just curl up in a ball and forget about everyone else, like my two beautiful dds. Life goes on...

My personal Labor Day Challenge is to continue maintenance and not lose or gain any weight.

So far so good... no weight loss since 15 June on 10-12 actual carbs a day and <1400 kcals!!

We'll see when school starts, cause I'm so emotionally exhausted by the end of the day, I tend not to eat as much as I do during the summer...

Last year on this day I weighed 234 lbs. What a difference a year makes!!

Haven't weighed in for a while, was afraid to with all of my transgressions. I got the courage to get on the scale and was down 2 lbs, thought for sure it would be a disaster.

Hello everyone...my Labor Day Goal would be to be down a pant size. Currently I am wearing a size 26 (baggy) It takes a LONG time for me to go down a pant size. In the meantime, just enjoy the process of getting healthier- not obsessing over my plan...just try to enjoy summer (oh so hot here) Looking forward to Fall. Thanks!

Today is my weigh day and I'm down 1 pound.

It's not much, but I'll take it. I made lots of low carb food for the 4th but just ate too much of it. And I think too many processed foods (like hotdogs, sausage, and lunchmeat) aren't helping me.

I went out to eat last night for the first time in over a month. It was easy for me to stay on plan. I drank water and had a steak with a double portion of steamed broccoli. Even left some of the broccoli on my plate. That was a big victory for me. I don't think I've ever left food on my plate!

Yes beware of processed foods they tend to have fillers that are not LC friendly (aka modified food starch to stick stuff together and other carb-y ingredients) and lots of salt, so that makes us retain water weight.

I'm about 10 days in. It's driving me crazy to not have a scale.... But when I have one I weigh obsessively and a bad scale day can ruin my whole day.

Good Morning ~ Caught up on my reading and I love all of the posts.

For me ... for those of you that remember, DH and I were and/are still having difficulties. I just finished another fundraising event, it was lots of fun but during the process, I have picked up a summer cold.

My goals for this challenge:

1. Think before I eat.
2. Drink more water.
3. Gratitude Journal.
4. Lose 5 lbs and keep it off.

I was a little carby last night with some sushi rice, but the rest of the week is no eating out so compliance will be spot on.

At my current slow rate, 13 pounds in 2 months is still a tall order. Of course, ANYTHING is acceptable and if at the end of the challenge I am within 5 pounds, I'd be thrilled with that, too.

So I'm glad to have this Labor Day goal as a current focus, and then I'll shift from scale goals to measurements goals as fall and cooler weather hits to re-focus my brain on firming and toning.

Staying on plan but going through some huge cravings lately. Getting grumpy I catch myself trying to rationalize a carby cheat. Then I think about the extended stall or weight gain that it could lead to and I don't do it. But I've been expending too many brain cells on it.
