Good Morning Everyone

226.2 07/06
224.6 07/07

Goal is 218 for July but lots of social occasions coming up so will have to work a bit harder than I have been!!!

I've set myself the task of reading the instructions to my scales so I can gauge my water/fat loss and I've some ketostix - I will succeed!!!!

July 03 - 193.0 !!! 1 Year on keto/LCHF!!!! - 106.4 pounds in 1 year!!!
July 04 - 193.6
July 05 - 193.4
July 06 - 193.4
July 07 - 192.0

Baggy -- welcome, glad to have you join in!

Roseanne -- great job on all accounts! My birthday is coming up on Thursday, and I know I'll be going to the casino with my mother coming into town to visit, so let's hope that I can say the same things!!!

Anna -- thanks for the info! Had no idea that regular coffee had carbs! Well, if it's any consolation, all my weight loss has mostly been at about 30 grams of net carbs per day. I thought I was under that, until I ran through a day and calculated everything out. It was like 31 net carbs for the day, and on weightlifting days it goes up to 38 (from carbs in protein powder). I guess what I'm saying in the end is -- if it's not any different from what you've been doing (like that's what you've been doing for weeks and weeks and losing), I wouldn't worry too much about it, unless you are EXTREMELY that carb sensitive and start to stall out!
(sorry, can't remember if you JUST started low carbing now, or have been doing it for a while before?)

Terri -- sorry to hear about the ordeal you went through, but I can absolutely tell you are one TOUGH woman!

Sammi -- are the dogs all settled from moving?

Good Morning!

Bronwyn - look at you leaving that 7/4 goal in the DUST!
Anthony - I hope you can say the same thing as well. Winning money and losing weight is a great combination. LOL
Judy - here's a hand to get back up on the wagon. I really struggled last night and almost fell off myself . . .
Baggy - you can lose through those social occasions if you just plan a bit before - maybe eat before you go if possible or check out the menu prior? Good wishes to you - that goal will be yours by the end of the month.

7/1 - 299.6
7/2 - 300.4
7/3 - 299.8
7/7 - 297.6
7/8 - 296.2

For some reason, I don't expect this loss to stick around but we'll see what tomorrow brings.

Happy Tuesday,
Roseanne

Terri-Thank you for the kind words and words of wisdom! I am NOT looking forward to radiation. My physician told me the same thing you did. She said the treatment itself shouldn't have any side effects, but it's usually the "process" that gets people. Bad thing is that I have to drive 45 minutes one way to get there. Luckily for me, my Mom is going to come up every other week and do the driving for me. I'll be late for work every day but I'm hoping to not have to miss any more time. However, I do know it's important to get a lot of rest, so I'm doing a lot of catch up at work before my treatment starts so I won't feel like I have to work when I don't want to.

Roseanne-thank you for the well wishes! I can take any of those I get! Nice whoosh yesterday!

Must have been that handful of skittles right before lunch. I was trying SO HARD to stay awake at my computer! YARGH!

Nicole, dang I hate that you have to drive SO FAR for something you will be doing EVERY DAY. I was only 10 minutes from my treatment center, so that was my lunch break every day. I remember my boss asking me to lunch and I told him I couldn't go. He said "Oh, so what are you having for lunch?" I said "Radiation". yah should have seen his face!

Hit me up with any questions you have. I still have tan lines from rads.

Judy, you & me. . .two peas.

Keto. You are the inspiration we need. Keep up the good work!

Anthony - I bet the extra exercise (energy you expend) makes the difference that you can keep ketosis with more than 20 carbs. As for me I don't exercise everyday. I find it so hard when I'm not losing like now... when I am losing I am happier and feel like doing it. I am on a stall... most of my weight loss was before I joined here. My top weight was exactly 327 beginning of may. What I think happened was I made the mistake of stuffing my fridge to the hilt with all kinds of choices of meat might of been too many calories. I was doing so much better when I was eating more eggs. I so dislike how eggs stink up my house tho! Lol

Hey anybody know a good way how to get stinky egg smell out of the air after cooking them? (Besides just covering it up with air freshener)

EVERY BODY HAVE A GREAT LOW CARB DAY!

Bronwyn -- you are doing GREAT! You met your July 4th goal and are blowing past it!!

Sammi -- glad to hear it! Yay happy dogs! lol

Roseanne -- saw my Mom at the casino where she is staying, I've already lost weight! In the wallet lol Have 2 more days to hopefully reverse that, lol! Going to go see a show tomorrow and play some poker.

LoCarbingMe -- you are doing great also in your weight!

Terri -- Just a man on a mission, won't let nothing stop me!

Anna -- I'm sorry, I totally meant to put that in there, but yes, I'm sure the exercise I'm doing is what is allowing that! I don't feel I'm going TOO crazy on exercise though. 3 days a week weightlifting, and walking for an hour the other 4 days. Funny you say what you did though, because NOT LOSING makes me WANT to exercise! Like "scale didn't want to go down? Fine then, I'll MAKE it go down!" lol (can you start walking 4 days a week?)

Egg smell? Easy.. BACON! Bacon smell trumps "egg smell", lol! No seriously though, how are you cooking them?? If you say hard boiled, that I can understand.. but any other way...? I dunno, I cook mine scrambled with cheese, cooked in bacon fat. No "egg smell" there!

HUMP DAY! Can't wait until this work week is DONE!

Baggy, I've tried all the remedies listed on this site to try to relieve the clogged plumbing. It's a real issue. And for me, it seemed worse due to menopause. SO. Having said that, MY go to is CITRUCEL. I take 5-6 tablets a day. It's a GREAT source of fiber, and it WON'T GIVE YOU GAS like many others.

Hail Poopfest!

Nicole...I must have missed your "introductory" post. Sorry about that. I have added you to my daily prayers. Please keep us posted on your progress. My oldest daughter is a cancer survivor (Hodgkins) and Terri is right....The important thing is your TREATMENT. The rest will come together after you finish! Take care of yourself and do what you gotta do.

Roseanne....Thanks...I needed that!!

Anna....Atkins says that de-caf black coffee doesn't count so I wouldn't worry about it. If you are drinking regular coffee, you probably should count the carbs. I have flavored coffee but only occasionally. I drink de-caf tea most of the time and never count the carbs. I haven't noticed a stinky egg smell when I cook them....but I do dislike the way boiled eggs make my fridge smell if I don't have an opened box of baking soda in there. I almost always cook bacon when I cook eggs so I guess the lovely smell of bacon masks any egg smell. Have you ever tried "Oust" air sanitizer? It's NOT a flowery "cover-up." It actually gets rid of smells. I use the Citrus Scent both in the kitchen and the bathroom and it really works.

Terri....We do seem to be related somehow. I can imagine your boss's reaction to that!! Good job!!

Baggy....Magnesium (pills)....just be careful. Take too much and you'll have the opposite problem.

Good Morning - guess what day it is?! Hump Day, yeah!

Anthony - get that money back from the casino! Seeing a show is nice - enjoy the time with your Mom and Happy Birthday a day early. ~smile~
Nicole - you are doing great. I wish you well with the radiation. My sister is going through chemo/radiation for the third time. It is great you found it so quickly.
Terri B - those darn Skittles . . .
Anna - come on, let's get you back in the 2s. Have you tried egg 'pancakes'? 2 eggs, 2 oz cream cheese softened, 1 or 2 T. Splenda and cinnamon to taste. Mix together and cook like regular pancakes. I haven't tried them myself yet but my friend swears by them - she was sick to death of eggs.
Judy - wow, nice loss and recovery

7/1 - 299.6
7/2 - 300.4
7/3 - 299.8
7/7 - 297.6
7/8 - 296.2
7/9 - 296.8

I knew there was going to be a little gain today - it just seemed to much of a loss yesterday. Tomorrow afternoon is official weigh in day so I'd like to see it back down tomorrow.

Paris - I might have a sensitive nose to the sulfur. I've tried everything short of spraying. & yep I agree boiling them is the worst! About the coffee... I don't know for sure but last couple days I been counting my daily (pot-of-energy) lol as 6g so maybe it works kinda like "insurance" for me because (knock on wood) I been going back down last 2 days. Coulda been not eating lunch meat too... so so so many factors in weight loss, huh?.. Might be why it's taken so long for low carb dieting to get to this popularity. I think the internet has helped with that too... The medical establishment can't keep the voice of the masses in check! HAHA. I don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist but I get the impression they want to keep us "fat and lazy"... Keeps the $$$ rolling in for the doctors & hospitals & insurance co. and everyone associated.
congrats on your recent loss!

KetoMan! - Yes I could squeeze in walking 4 × a week... but don't like walking around my property... because it's not level and Omg I have twisted my ankles too often in my life... now it takes 2-3 months to heal completely in my old age. And city walking or park... I'm way too self conscious to do that. I know that is a serious flaw of mine but have tried many times and just can't get over it! So all I can do is push mow my front yard (almost an acre) once a week & the I will try to exercise more & elliptical.

7/1 - 298
7/2 - 299
7/3 - 298 ate too much
7/4 - 300 depressed & lost it.
7/5 - 302 totally fell off the Wagon but still low carbing. (There is no*bread*or sweets in the house) pigged on cheese & ham.
7/6 - 301
7/7 - 302
7/8 - 301
7/9 - 299 yay me..finally in twos again! THANKS TO MY TEAM HERE!

Baggy1970- as you can probably hint by my profile name... I LOVE CHEESE! LOL & OMG had the same issues in my pipes for days! Dont mean to be overly graphic but it did some collateral damage to the exit o-ring area...(if you get my drift) OUCHY!!!.. so I tried my best to save carbs for A LOT of lettuce or spinach in my salad, and too, if your not big on salad... like somebody already said powdered fiber.. but always be sure to drink LOTS of water Bc this powdered fiber stuff can make it worse without the outside fluid you drink to "fluff" it and it will pull water FROM your "pipes" instead. Get it?
Hope it all works out for you... Pardon the pun!

Bleh, scale going in wrong direction, lol!

To add to the "constipation" conversation -- I've never had a problem with it! I do eat wild blueberries in my shake that I have every night as my last meal, so there's some fiber there. Otherwise, I wake up, take a caffeine pill (equivalent to 1 cup of coffee) and then move around/stand. Doing that makes me "go" within a few minutes, almost every time! (sometimes it can take like 20 minutes, but it's there!) I do also take a magnesium supplement before I go to bed the night before. Hope that helps in some way!

Roseanne -- I had a good night! The show was funny and we had a good time! Won back everything from last night, AND left the casino a little "heavier" in the wallet! YAY for THAT kind of "weight gain", lol! Not the jackpot I was dreaming about, but I'll take it! Thanks for the B-day wishes!

Anna -- what about walking on the street? No good there? If you're not comfortable enough to walk at a park, I can understand that -- but if you're going to allow yourself that "excuse", you've got to find a way to get in your exercise another way! Can you do a bodyweight strength routine at home a few times a week?

Bronwyn -- you're welcome, and you keep rocking it!

Baggy -- those numbers are looking fine to me there! Nothing to be fed up about! there should be SOME keto/LCHF/atkins friendly option going out to eat! STICK to what you know you should be doing, and don't let anyone "pressure" you into any CRAP!

Off to sleep, it's my birthday when I wake up! Going out to eat, and probably a movie (I always see a movie on my birthday every year) -- but the movie I REALLY want to see comes out tomorrow, the new Planet of The Apes one (the one they just did in 2011 was SOOOOO good!) so not sure if I'll see "something else" later today, or just wait till tomorrow!

Anna....Could very easily have been the lunchmeat. There are usually hidden carbs in them. Processed foods are NOT good....although I do eat a lot of bacon and that doesn't seem to slow me down. I "love" cheese but have to be careful with the amounts.

Going out to eat tonight with my oldest daughter. Her DH is out of town and I want to take her to a restaurant close to my place. Their special is Prime Rib so it shouldn't do too much damage. I always substitute a lettuce salad with Ranch for the baked potato....and I get steamed veggies and drink just water....which is sometimes a challenge since it's a bar and I love beer!!!!

Congrats to all the losers....KUTGW

Almost tried to talk myself out of the gym last night. But I went. It ended up being a really good session. Sometimes I'm there, and it takes everything I have just to make it through class. Some other times, I have this burst of energy, and I'm like the energizer bunny! Last night was one of those nights. I don't know where the energy came from, but I took full advantage. I was red, sweaty and fully spent when I left. Good times.

Anna, I get the self conscience part. And I was extra clumsy too. When I started working out (in my 300's) I joined my gym because they offered water aerobics. It was awesome in so many ways. It works the heck out of your muscles without the undo pressure on your joints. I was working out, PLUS I was around similarly shaped women. There was no feeling of intimidation when I dropped my towel. Hope you can find something like this. It's good for the soul.

Good Morning to all and a special Happy Birthday to Anthony! I hope you enjoy your movie.

Lots of good losses going on around these parts lately. ~smile~

Baggy, even those small loses all add up in the end. It's just your body doing a little readjusting and getting used to all that fat missing!
Anthony, I'm thrilled to read that you made back your losses and padded your wallet with a little extra. Woohoo! I'm glad the show was good too.
Paris, I love the birthday pics especially the missing cake one! You are doing great and you have a good plan for today's eating out. Yay you!
Terri, we are both in a holding pattern for today - maybe that means we are due for a good loss tomorrow?!

7/8 - 296.2
7/9 - 296.8
7/10 - 296.8

Official weigh in this afternoon - it is what it is. Happy Thursday to all!
Roseanne
