I have had a good, interesting weekend packed full of action

1 Shopped for groceries twice and have packed the fridge full of LC stuff
2 I budgeted my check and paid bills
3 Caught up on mail
4 Lent money to a desperate relative and made a mad dash to the Post Office to priority mail it before closing
5 Got my cable and WiFi upgraded and changed out
6 Helped a friend with a major cleaning project
7 Went out with another friend this morning
8 Unclogged a toilet
8 Another friend came out and fixed Mom's DVD player issues and I then took her out to eat

Checking in on my lunch break. Lost 2 more pounds. Puts me at down 18 pounds so far. Hubby doing same plan with me down 32 pounds! Men seem to lose so much faster!
How's everyone doing?

Need some new dinner ideas...
Lately I've made chicken chili relleno, pot roast with broccoli, ckicken cordon blue, burgers no buns, and fajitas.

Rough day today, was leaving a meeting and had a grand mal seizure while driving, hit a parked car on the road. Was unconscious for about 30 minutes or more. Bit my tongue and cheek pretty good and embarrassing as it is was incontinent too. Didnt wake up until was already in ambulance.

Two days in my brand new car and this happens, they had to break one of the windows bc the doors were locked. I've been so stressed with so many things lately and have barely slept the last 5 nights. I had been diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 20 and had issues with it for a couple of years, but haven't since and that was 20 years ago.

I was told by er doctor I can't drive for at least 3 months and need to see a neurologist and is possible they may revoke my license if it continues or can't be kep under control. I work so far away (45 miles) and have a huge project I'm working on with a deadline of july 1st. My boss is not happy. I'm not feeling very optimistic about anything at the moment.

Oh no Kathy! So sorry; your new car too!! You've lost a dramatic amount of weight and you say you're stressed about your job- maybe you need to slw down and give yourself a break! Since it's been so long since you've had one, maybe they can be controlled with medication. Well, you might not have another for 20 more years or longer. Let us know when they do tests. Maybe some rest from work is what you need to slow down your pace. I'm so very sorry this happened to you!

Kath17, when I fell and had the brain injury, there were two seizures as a result of the fall. My state will not allow me to drive for six months if I go without a seizure for that period of time and I had never had a seizure in my entire life. Are you on medical leave? Can you do your job from home? Right now I am still on short term disability and working with the outpatient PT and Speech Therapy folks to prepare me to return to work full time. Hopefully it will occur by end of summer.

Thanks for the support. I think I talked to almost every person at work, everyone called or texted. It's a small agency but still surprised. Haven't slept much - thinking and neck and upper back really hurt. I have to make a doctors appt for today and get a referral for a neurologist before I figure out how not driving is going to work. Mary, honestly not sure what short term disability really is. The majority of what I do is paperwork, i could probably work from home, but my computer isn't working (just using tablet and don't think my boss would like me to work from home; she's weird about staff being in the offices). Not going to worry too much about it today, have to contact insurance company, towing place and all that to get my car situated. I do have to say I'm glad I've lost the weight I have because removing someone heavy from a vehicle has to be difficult, thank goodness I don't weigh anymore, still not exactly light yet.

Kath17, some compaies have paid sick leave, some 13 week job protection under FMLA (FederalLaw) that coicides with a paid salary beyond your sick time that can goe for 13 weeks or past the 13 weeks to 26 weeks. In my company, I paid volunteerily out of my benefit pkg for addl long term disability which I hope to never have to use that could go beyond the six month short term disability. My job however is only federally protected for 13 weeks under FMLA. I am beyond that now.

Kathy- Sounds like you're handling things well for what you've been through. I agree with Mary that you should check into short term disability. Prayers for you.

Kath, so sorry to hear that. If you hit a parked car, it should just be cosmetic damage. Do you have public transportation where you live?

I was able to get an appointment with a neurologist tomorrow so getting everything in order is going pretty smoothly. Saw my doctor today and got blood work to check my thyroid levels, got everything set with insurance company to have car towed to repair shop closer to me. Only thing problematic is my boss; I figure I can break it to her tomorrow that I won't be for the rest of this week.
