Thanks, BecBelle, Cloud and Deb and anyone else who offered their suggestions on budgeting. I made a stab at adding up some numbers but I have a long way to go to get it some what workable. The apple store said that Mint works really good and is highly recommended as a budget software program and it is free so I downloaded it last night and read it over. I had downloaded other ones but couldn't figure them out and this one was pretty easy. I just had to enter my User name and passwords from my bank accounts and credit union and it loaded the data. The I renamed some of it. It can split some of it. Reallocate some of the budget data. I still have to load the 401k accounts and the car loan but then everything will be in one place on line. Once I use it for a year I will have a pretty good idea of what we are spending. I already have an idea of what we are spending for utilities and food etc. and we can see where we can cut back. We don't actually waste a lot of money. My frig/freezer died yesterday and the repairman is coming in tomorrow. Luckily since we are vegan, we didn't lose any meat, eggs or dairy. I am eating up my tofu, tempeh and hummus. Having my soy milk in my smoothies along with the fruit. Using Ice bags in the freezer like a cooler. Then we will clean it all out tomorrow. When it is up and working.

Next week I have to call the plumber for a leaky toilet and to get some sinks repaired. The process of decluttering will continue. I read an article this week that inspired me to continue this process. Retirement: 10 tips to clearing the clutter

Let me know what you think of it.

Give this a look, MaryMary:
https://crownmoneymap.org/MoneyMap/ASP/budgetguide.asp

Hopefully that will help give you a clearer picture, but I know from experience that sometimes your expenditures don't really care what your budget says. For many years our budget was a monthly list of our bills where we crossed off each one as it was paid... forget planning as we were so far in over our heads it would not have mattered. Life has changed, thankfully, even though we stay very close to the edge money-wise.

Deb, so sorry to hear about Ken. I believe I would have to find out what kind of surgery they are talking about. If Ken is on disability, doesn't he get Medicaid? Maybe they would pay for something.

I have had a weird, convoluted week, so I haven't posted much. I am leaving a job after 9 years 09/18/14 and moving "home" to NE Tx. I gave official notice and right now am working things out. I can't give details about my work right now but this week work has been super crappy and I am just getting through these last weeks there the best that I can

Sorry to hear about your week, BecBelle. But I hope the move is good for you.

Had a wild and wooly week at work myself. Tuesday was godawful in some many ways that the thought of just walking away crossed my mind. Friday was another rough one and then got worse when my phone went off after I had already clocked out and was having supper with my family... had an emergency call at a store three hours away. I got home at 1am from that one. It was all overtime but I ain't as young as I used to be.

Still stumbling along trying to climb back on the bandwagon. Seems more like the bandwagon is just running over my sorry &*#.

he is not on social security disability which after 2 years you are eligible for medicare. he gets VA disability at the 70% rating so his medical bills are covered if he is using VA facilities
he has been denied twice for SSDI we are taking it before a judge but it takes 15 months just to get an appointment for that so who knows??

hope you are doing good Lucky miss talking to you a lot

Thanks for the hugs.

I have heard of it. I looked it up to see exactly where it was... darn near astraddle the KY border. I am just east of Cleveland myself, which is about 25 miles NE of Chattanooga along I-75. The closest I get to Jellico is Wartburg as my company services a store there. I should be up there a day or two this week as it is due for a PM (preventative maintenance... fancy name for cleaning the scanner/scales and lane computer).

Repairman came and the part the computer told him to use to fix the freezer was the wrong part. It wouldn't fit. So he has to order part. It is the fan that blow the compressor. In the meantime he sai we could use a small fan behand the freezer and blow air into the freezer and ot should work. I asked for a discount because his computer was wrong. He said we might be able to find a coupon online for a discount and he showed me how. We found a 20% off coupon. So the correct part was $50 less and with the coon, this will cost us $100 less. So we will get the icemaker motor fixed too all for less than $400. But he won't be back til next Friday. But we have a functional appliance until then because we have a fan we bought at Rite Aid for $19.95.

Amazing MaryMary! Glad you have it back at least.

Deb- Did you see where I posted that my nephew finally went before judge May 22nd. He received a letter about a week later that said he he had a favorable judgment and was completely disabled. He was to receive money some time up to 60 days. Still no money. He knows it will come but it's still hard to get by at the present!

BecBelle- Sorry about your week. Hope your move is a good one and you'll be happier there!!

Trotter- It's hard when you have a stressful job to concentrate on yourself but remember you are worth it.

flylady's mission if anyone is interested
FLYlady εїз June 22 - 28 εїз The Master Bedroom

Zone 4: Mission #1 Monday

Dear Friends:

Today I want you to spend 15 minutes getting rid of anything that does not belong in your bedroom. Things that have gotten thrown in a corner, on a chair or even the floor. The things that you almost don't even see because they have just become part of the room, get it out! If it does not belong there then out it goes!

This does not mean that you have to spend three hours in your bedroom, do what you can do for 15 minutes.

and let's all get our water in today! i need some lemon it would be good in a glass of iced water today!

hi there lucky! yeah i don't know when i will get to have molly again sigh and i swear i am loooking for them to move back in with her parents KWIM?
Kenny got 2 days of temporary work this weekend who knows what else?/ since feb between them they have had like 10 jobs crazy! if i was thier potential emplyer i would look at thier resume and no matter how qualified i would pass them up. can not depend on them UGH AND kenny told one employer that he came back to here because he had to help take car e of his sick father. can you believe the gall of my child?? he has done NADA to help ken since he has been home "oh i will help get ready for the caregiver visit" did not happen and he said he would do chainsaw work we have been needing done MONTHS ago and nope lazy about to lose my composure
if that caregiver money comes through i am looking into getting an electric chainsaw and will do it myself . or Steven would. our chainsaw has not worked in years (was going to be ken's Christmas present the year he wrecked but didn't happen)and Steven is not comfortable using Kenny's and honestly i don't blame him.. Steven isn't too high on his big brother lately either tired of being lied to and used
