Many of the symptons you describe, I have still, and ai am still not allowed back to work. Please check with your physician before you push yourself to return and put extra stress on your brain that is trying so hard to heal itself. Stress is a killer.
I work for a small agency, the slightly ironic thing is the big project I'm working on is writing all the policies for the agency as we try to get accredited. I haven't written the return to work policy yet. The neurologist didn't say anything about not working, only about not driving to work. I figure I'll have a better idea if working is possible by Sunday. I know I couldn't have today. I'm hoping the side effects start dissapating and that in another day or two I'll be able to eat and hopefully get more energy. I have 10 sick days, used 4 this week and will be using 3 more this month for tests/appts. I'm just hoping I start feeling more like myself because this really sucks. I think my boss will be ok if I need to use more time, but I really want to go back, I feel so cut off.

Kathy, I work for a big payroll company and they want to cover their behinds if you know what I mean. If you were to return to work before your doctor says you are ready, and there is an accident at work, who is liable? The govt (workers comp) might ask who allowed you to return to work so soon?

Things to be grateful for today:
1. I slept for 5hrs last night, it's the most sleep I've gotten during the night in over a week and a half.
2. I have a lot of friends and family who genuinely care about me.
3. I went out with my mom for a little while today, tired now!
4. I feel like my appetitite is coming back.
5. The scale has been kind this week.

Kathy, great place to start, with things to be grateful for.

1. Grateful for family and friends who care
2. Grateful for being alive, being able to walk and talk and write
3. Grateful for a job I love (even though I can't work right now)
4. Grateful for my 12 step program of recovery
5. Grateful for my faith in God, who I am learning to trust and rely upon.

I hit a new low today 262.4. It is the first that I have lost since the middle of May. I am now seeing a lot of difference in my clothes.

Great list, Mary!

BecBelle, congrats on the loss! I can't wait to get where you are! Before you know it you'll be in a smaller size.

New to group

When I saw the title 'Century Club,' it was an eye opener. Yes, I do have to loose 100 lbs and more. Seems like a mountain, but I know all trips begin one step at a time. Hoping to find some support in here while I travel this road to better health.
i am 63 years young, a cancer survivor, and Vietnam vet. I am currently trying Slim Fiber to help with appetite. It seems to work, when I use it (confession). Good luck to my fellow sojourners.

Yes, an attitude of gratitude is most important to survival. I also find sometimes I have to adjust the altitude of my attitude also, lol

Yay! Another dude! Don't worry, mate... we will back each other up.

Starting over tomorrow morning. Seems to be way too many birthday celebrations all in a row... and everyone in the family are great cooks. I can tell that my body is protesting the extra carbs because of the headaches and sluggishness that follow, which is a good thing.

I don't just fall off the wagon; I tend to make flying swan dives from time to time.

I've been lazy today. Emptied dishwasher and loaded a few dirty dishes and that's it. Been on the computer.

Welcome sails!!!! Come in and let us get to know you!!!

Today is my 20th Anniversary. Had a great day except for going to Urgent Care for gout. Just had an episode in April. Too soon for this pain again.
