MAN! This summer is starting off WRONG! Typically, for me, summertime is much better because I'm OUTSIDE doing stuff and sweating it up! Well, let me tell you about some of those little red potatoes that we harvested out of the garden on saturday. . .

I roasted them up with a rub of olive oil, and spices, and OMG. . . I invented a new form of crack. I couldn't stop popping one in my mouth everytime I walked by! I have NO idea how many I ate!

Oh well, have a great Monday all!

I am moving out of state next week. So much to do, so much stress. Trying to stay on plan. I have a 10 hour drive with two 120 pound dogs. Oh yes, one dog gets car sick and hates confined spaces. The poor guy came from a rescue. All this will be over very soon and we will be in our new home. Looking very forward to this.

Congrats, Keto....or is it Anthony? I can't remember what you said your name is. It will be nice when you can add it to your signature. I'm surprised you can't do that already. Hmmmm.....

Have you tried doing it this way? Click on "User Control Panel" (top left of the screen in the blue line). Then scroll down to where it says "Edit Signature" under "Settings and Options" in the panel on the left. That opens up a box for you to type your signature in. You "should" be able to do it there. We used to be able to put jpegs from another source there, but not anymore. You can type and put in smilies from this board. Good luck.

Well, I did it, I hit 100 pounds lost in less than 1 year! 11 and a half months!!! I know I only recently started posting here, so ya'll have only known me for a short time, but I've been working at this for a looooong time now! (obviously, 11.5 months long, lol!)

It feels crazy, and it's absolutely messed with my head all day now! I was mostly left speechless in my daily update that I wrote on my site, and threw out a whole bunch of "thank you's" to people and places, this place being one of them! While I only started posting recently, I knew about these boards before I started my journey, but mostly just kept to another site for my postings. I've definitely gotten some recipe inspirations from here though!

It's really crazy watching my day 1 video just how big and depressed I was! (I mentioned it before, but I've been documenting my entire journey. If you google my username you'll find my site where I take daily pictures and do daily updates, and I've done weekly Wednesday videos on Youtube as well!)

While hitting 100 pounds lost was certainly a goal of mine, it's not my END goal, and there's still more work to be done! I'm not sure what my final weight will be, but when I started out I wanted to hit at least 190, and now it's looking like probably 180 to 175 to get rid of all the fat still left in my lower stomach, on my chest, my legs, etc... There's still more work to do!

Oh, and yes, my name is Anthony

Judy -- yes, I looked there. I know that a lot of message boards don't let users have signatures until they've hit a certain number of posts. Apparently, I haven't hit that number yet, because the option is just not there. I've looked. (and I'm the "good with computers" type, so.. yeah, it's not there. lol)

Sammi -- good luck with your move! I just went through that, and I know how stressful it is! Sorry to hear about your dogs, I hope it goes as smooth as it possibly can!

Terri -- thanks! Yes, I was close once before, but never got there, so happy to have finally hit it now! Stay committed to your goals and I'm sure you'll be there relatively soon as well! If you don't mind me throwing in some motivation -- which do you want more? Food that "tastes good" for a short period of time, or a body that you are HAPPY to live in for a long period of time!?! or, put another way -- nothing tastes as good as having the body you want FEELS!

Anthony.... Congrats!! That's some journey. Very inspirational. I found you on Facebook. I'll have to follow you and get some motivation so I can do it too. I don't have quite 100 lbs to lose, more like 80-85 but that's plenty and I need motivation. My main problem is eating out with family/friends. I do very well at my youngest daughter's home....she's a Type 1 diabetic and eats VERY low carb to control her blood sugar without insulin....but my oldest daughter cooks high carb, but at least NOT low fat so I guess it could be worse. How do you handle eating in a restaurant? I get so tired of paying for food that I tell them to leave off. I think they should give us a discount when we don't want 1/2 of the food.

Hello Everyone,

I can't weigh myself for awhile. My scale is packed away ready to move. Now about my dog, I have two Great Pyrenees. I've had one for three years and my new dog I adopted 8 months ago. He is a year and a half now. When we travel we must give him medication for nausea and Valium for his anxiety in the car.
Anthony you are doing so well, congrats!
Kandi I know what you mean about the binge. What triggers us?? I am trying so hard to come out of this too!!

I made it thru last night, upped my water intake once agin cut the sodas and no cheats,
Sammi---I wish I knew, i guess a number of things can trigger me unfortunatly , I have the craziest mindset at times,,, its either all in or all out, and when i fall boy is it hard to get back on. But hang in there we all go thru it, and u will get back to good before u know it

Thanks Judy! I did see a Judy found me on facebook and wondered if it was you! My facebook is pretty empty and sad, lol!

About eating out, I would just say to plan ahead! Sounds like eating at your youngest daughter's house is easy, so that's good! Here's the tricky part -- eating at your oldest daughter's house. You're going to have to "rock the boat" a bit, and sit down and talk with her and explain the science behind what you are doing, and ask that she at least RESPECT that it's your decision of what you want to do, and ask that if you are invited over for dinner, she can make a low/no carb option for you. If that is too burdensome for her, that's where planning ahead comes in, and you need to have something prepared ahead of time that you can bring with you, and just reheat so that you can eat along with everyone else. That's what I would do given the situation!

Eating "out" is pretty easy! I was just talking to my cousin today about doing this, and told her the only place you CAN'T go out to eat is a chinese restaurant (carbs in EVERYTHING there, lol!). Besides that, EVERY place has at least ONE of the following items:
1 - Steak with veggies that you can ask for melted butter to pour over top of
2 - cheeseburger (double cb!) - no bun, no ketchup. Add mayo, and then the option of adding bacon, extra cheese, guacamole/avocado slices, and pickles. Pick any/some of those and you're good! (obviously, no fries with it, or take them and give them to friend you are eating with!)
3 - Chicken Caesar salad -- no croutons, and then you can add extra cheese, maybe some bacon crumbles, chopped egg (but usually the chicken is enough protein along with the cheese) -- use extra Caesar dressing if you like, or no Caesar and use ranch or blue cheese dressing instead!

I can't think of anywhere that wouldn't have one of those options!

About paying for food you don't want/aren't eating -- I don't mind. I mean, I know I'm ALREADY paying an extra fee for them to prepare the food -- I can buy the stuff and make it cheaper at home! That's not the point though, you are paying to "go out", socialize with family/friends, just chill and not do the "work" of making it, so just relax and enjoy. It's just a mindset change is all! Hope that helps!!!

Oh, and btw, my most FAVORITE place to eat out is of course -- Outback Steakhouse! 10 oz Ribeye, wood fired, medium rare (although I just order it "rare+" now so it actually comes out medium rare, lol) with steamed broccoli and grilled asparagus, and two sides of melted butter to pour over top of steak first, and then veggies second! Mmmmmmmmmmm!!! lol (and sometimes side Caesar salad with extra dressing and no croutons to start with!)
