Kim!!!

oncloud9 -- Yep I was good too, didn't over do the rinds because I had the DH portion them out for me and took the rest away. Sad that a grown woman can't control herself -- but it is what it is and I'll do whatever it takes to stay in control of my portion control issues...

Jolynn -- OMG that's exactly how it was for me!! Picturing myself eating those toxic, poisonous, insidious killer carbs in a new thinner body. But I'd didn't just picture it I ACTUALLY did it and of course the thinner me didn't last long ... My question is WHY did it take so long for me to figure out that if thin Jo ate carbs she would soon become FAT Jo again?? Rhetorical question *sigh* In any case, I finally figured it out!!

Congrats on being 3 months into this WOE. Every successful day of properly following your personal LC WOE plan is one day closer to realizing your weight goal!! You can do this!!

Results so far of my 4th of July Challenge: Today is day 13 with no weight loss!! -- Does this mean I have found my maintenance threshold at 1400 kcals and <14 carbs daily? I am so carb sensitive but at least I accept that now!!

Wishing all of us continued success on our personal LC WOE journeys!!

Slim Jan became even fatter Jan when I went back to carby foods. At least I have learned my lesson FINALLY! I just need to keep up with no late snacking and especially the portion size. I'm going to stay away from nuts and pork skins for awhile.

So glad you did well Just Jo. Thanks for posting! It helps us see that it is possible! We have our wonderful MaryMary who posts still even though she is at goal.

I think that's good advice for all of us. To keep posting will remind us that we are not finished either. We will never be finished and the boards will be constant support!

Cindy- Glad to see you back! Missed you!

It is great to read these posts and to know you guys are here even when we do reach goal, because losing the weight is only part of the problem. When I stopped using food to calm myself, lots of feelings started to bubble up and had to go somewhere. Right now, coming here, or writing, calling friends, visiting neighbors, going for walks, organizing my house in small projects, cooking in small projects, reading, staying busy or not. Right now I am resting. I went to physical therapy this morning and am wiped out. My legs feel like rubber from the squats they are trying to get me to do. My muscles disappeared from this accident.

Mary you are doing just what you need to do. Your physical strength will return.

Oncloud, I avoid nuts and pork rinds are on my avoid list too. I did slip up big time with nuts about 10 days ago, and sometimes have to remind myself about pork rinds. I tend to overeat them (portion control). They are good a first but not after a whole bag. They remind me a bit fried food appetizers and french fries . . . first bites to die for, but then yuck. Of course pork rinds will always be my choice over fried potatoes or appetizer.

Patience- I can and have eaten a whole bag. Was eating a lot of nuts too. I am staying away from them for a while.
Bought a size 20 Delta Burke swimsuit and it fits!!! It really holds me in and looks so much better on me than any has in a long time. Beach vacations aren't until third week of August and 2nd and 3rd weeks of Sept. I'm hoping this one will be lose and I'll need a new 18 to take!!
No snacks tonight. Yay me!!

I don't post a lot but I read, and get inspiration from, all of your posts. It is so great to know my good and bad days are just like yours.

At the end of June I will be returning to a town for a weekend that was my home for over 32 years. We did not leave voluntarily, my husband's job changed. We left our friends, our church family, and the town we loved. I am losing weight for health reasons but I guess I am vain enough to want people to notice my weight loss, and be happy for me. I am still pretty much on the induction phase of Atkins. I have never lost this much weight at one time. I still have a long way to go but for the first time I feel I WILL succeed.

Trying to join in here - not much of a "group" person. Have lost 15 lbs, one size, since the beginning of April. My only goal right now is to keep on-track, under 25-30 g carbs a day, one hour at a time. I have such a long way to go, one hour at a time.

Nothing wrong with losing weight for vanity -- sometimes that's what keeps us going... hey by end of June you could be down another 10 lbs or so, wouldn't that be awesome when you show up in town??? I'm cheering you onward and downward!!

CML, I'm still on Induction (A '72) because I'm carb-sensitive and it's been 53.5 weeks. I'll probably have to stay on Induction forever because I can't do more than 14 carbs a day... it is what it is!

Wishing all of us continued success on our personal LC WOE journeys!

Hi sk8!! So glad you're here! I had to force myself to start posting. Since I have been, I've really been encouraged. Many times when I'm posting in the evening, it's to keep myself from eating. Other people's successes help keep me going too. Jump in and stay with us!!

Home town visits can be emotion laden for me.
And that can trigger urges to eat, but I try to go in prepared.
Do you still have family there, Colo?

I haven't been since my 5 year and I am turning 64 !! this summer.

I dread such events. My trips "home" were mostly to be with my mom as she grew older.

My Wednesday weigh day- down 2 more! 8lbs in 3 weeks. I'm going to ride this wave as long as it will take me! Lol!

Last August I went to my 30 yr reunion weighing my highest 287. I graduated high school at 135. It was nice seeing my old friends but I was self conscious the whole time. I think this time on Atkins has finally clicked because I am finally fed up about being uncomfortable in social situations. And missing out on things that I used to do like skiing and tennis. My push over the edge was having my son get engaged and knowing that I would have to be imortalized in pictures at the wedding next May. So far I have dodged the camera to such an extreme that I have a $400 gift certificate for a family portrait that was given to me over 6 years ago and it is still in a drawer in my kitchen.
So, I'm doing this for vanity too. But I also want to start participating in life again.

My goal for 7/4 is to hit 240 and make one new meal a week. Yesterday I tried turkey bacon and I just don't care for it. I do feel confident I can meet the 15 lb goal, if I stay on my current track. We'll see lol!

Hey at least you weighed 135 in HS... I was always the fat girl -- 245 lbs in HS.

Did I tell you all that I was going home (Florida) for a week with my eldest DD (lives in Phnx) to visit my fam (dad and twin bro) and my younger DD end of June. They haven't seen me in 4 yrs (when I weighed 265+). I can not wait to see their faces!!! OMG it's gonna be epic! Especially since I had hair down to my butt and now it's all short and chic!!

Happy Thursday!!! I love reading all of the posts. Had a few moments yesterday that could have been better. I'm starting training a new employee today and I find training absolutely exhausting. I'm really needing to get my act together with better self care. Stayed up top late last night reading a great book knowing that I had training today

Welcome AmyLynn...
Reunions and weddings are hard no doubt but changing your life for you makes all the difference. The last HS reunion I went to was the 5 year back in 1971 so my 50th will be coming up in 2 years. Hope to be able to go to that.

Oh wow I forgot about the humidity that we don't have here in hot and dry NM... knew there was a reason I rarely went to FL in summer... too late now.

Okay, 4th July Challenge and I seem to be on maintenance with my 1200-1400 daily kcals and <14 carbs. This is day 16 w/o a loss... so I'm hoping it's true.
