On Amazon 34.95
At my pharmacy, it goes on sale every so often for 32.95 or 29.95 but normally lists for 39.95.

At Rite Aid we get 20% off all the time because we meet some type of quota from the year before with out purchases. It is easy to do. So whether it is on sale or not I would be able to buy it for 32.95.

WOE: I took the Atkins Diet and modified it to suit me!
Start Date: February 3rd, 2014
Thanks for the welcome, MaryMary and oncloud9now2!!!!

Years ago, I was a 'by the book' Atkins dieter!

After starting Seroquel, I gained weight like crazy and even good, old Atkins didn't help.
I tried this and that for over 6 years, with little or no success.
I finally got fed up and designed my own diet, which I suppose could best be described as a 'Modified Atkins'.

(I have a feeling I'm doing some of the same things as you, oncloud9now2!!)

While I don't count my carbs, I watch them.
I cut back on serving size when it comes to meat and I focus on salmon, tuna, and chicken more than I do beef or pork.

I eat much less animal fat. I still get PLENTY of fat, but it's almost all the healthy kinds!
I eat nuts, but stick mainly to almonds and walnuts.

I cut almost all fruit out of my diet except for small amounts of the low sugar berries.
I can get all the same 'goodies' from low carb veggies, with far less sugar!!

And I insist on eating whenever I'm hungry and not eating whenever I'm not!!

I live just a few minutes outside of the SW tip of Chicago, MaryMary!!

Thanks, okmnx, for the bio. I just added salmon back last week for a while in an effort to get some rhythm back to my eating. I eat the berries too and low carb veggies. A few nuts or seeds like chia, hemp, flax, sesame, pumpkin, sunflower or a bit of quinoa on a rare occasion. Limited to 1-2 oz. I use soy products for protein too and avoid meat.

I think we are all a work in progress. What works one year may need to be reevaluated another.

I know years ago my doc put me on an anti depressant and I gained 25 lbs in one month. I honestly didn't think I ate any differently. He said it was a side effect. I said even though it worked I couldn't afford to gain weight like that.

So far, I've stuck to the challenge! I went to a conference last Friday where the snacks at each break were sweets and stuff but they never touched my lips. Tomorrow is our monthly office party so I can eat vegetables, chicken wings, peanuts, etc. Down 4 lbs in 10 days, too!

Hi everyone. I haven't checked in in over a week and have enjoyed catching up on everyone's posts. Welcome to those who just joined!
I've had a busy week at work and went to L.A. over the weekend for a graduation. I was very proud of myself for staying on plan and am happy to say it showed on the scale this morning. 3lbs. down!
I just may hit my goal of 10lbs. by july 4 if I can keep it up.

Way to go JoLynn !

I'm up 4 pounds .. started beating myself up, then stopped and tried to figure out why. Bottom line I am NOT sticking to my plan, and eating way more than I should. Just dumb.

Any-who, I just downloaded a tracker app on my phone, going to see if tracking everything - food, water, exercise - will help keep me on track.. do you guys track and if so, do you find it helpful ?

I'm thankful you guys are here, have a wicked awesome day !

I so understand JoanneO. My biggest problem is eating too much of good for me foods! Someone just told me about a tracker that you can also add your food to, even restaurants. Haven't tried it yet. We'll see.

Thanks y'all. I do feel so much better and am so happy to be off several meds. I do still take an anti depressant and Xanax so I might would lose better without those. I don't think I'm ready to leave them off though unfortunately.

Way to go Bron!!

MaryMary- Dobie Muffins are made with flaxseeds. It's in the recipes. I think I posted it once also on the 300+ Support thread. I love them. I use different flavoring to keep from getting bored. I just started making " A Muffin In A Mug " that's made with flax seed also. I'll post it if you aren't happy with the Dobie recipe. Let me know.

Hi Everyone, I haven't posted in over a couple of weeks, we had our mini-vacation to Arizona where I got some much needed warmth. It has been challenging to come back to a foot of new snow and it has snowed at least a little bit everyday since Sunday. Oh well, I have always said I will not let weather dictate my mood but I would sure love to get outside and get my hands dirty in the garden but I guess I'll have to wait a bit.

Way to go Cloud for getting off some of your medications. I also have a problem of eating the right foods but too much of the right foods. My July 4th Challenge will be portion control with an end result of 10lbs lost by then.

Last night was our monthly 'ladies night' for drinks and appetizers. I drank a diet soft drinking instead of a margarita (or two) and picked out the chicken and avocado from the appetizers and didn't eat the fried parts or the beans and chips. I thought about it all day, planning what I was going to eat and getting psyched thinking about the possibility of having the discipline to pull it off!

Bronwyn-Way to go! Going in with a plan and sticking to it!

ColoMtn- Glad you were able to escape the snow for awhile. A change of scenery can reset your mood.

JoanneO- It's frustrating to watch the scale go down one day and up the next. I try not to let it get to me knowing I'm in this for the long haul.
I don't track my food, but I have been listening to my body more lately. I used to eat automatically because the clock said it was time. Lately I've noticed that I'll be hungrier if I lower my fat intake. And around my monthly. So for example I'll make sure to eat tuna salad instead of chicken breast for lunch and it has really helped with the hunger.

OnCloud-Congratulations on having your meds reduced!

Bronwyn, that's so awesome .. you are doing amazing

CoMtns - as much as I love snow, it needs to not be here in the spring !

Thanks JoLynn - it's really my own fault, eating the wrong stuff and basically just eating too much .. have done the tracking the past 2 days and it has helped, not sure if I'll keep up with it or not. This journey is such a "work in progress"

On a positive note, hubby had his 6 month check up this week, and he's down 12 pounds. Sugars and cholesterol down as well. He's pretty stoked to keep going and stick to the plan, so it's going to be good for both of us. I go for mine next month, hoping I'll have similar results.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend, weather here is nice, sunny and warm.. time for some yard work

Good Sunday Morning Everybody!!

Do you all mind if I join? I don't have a weight goal to reach but a more difficult and scary one... figuring out maintenance so I don't regain -- so that is my 4th of July Goal.

A little bit about how I got myself where I am today: 5 July will be the official date I started doing Atkins '72 with renewed vigor and 100% commitment. So I call it my INDEPENDENCE Day.

At the end of May 2013, I weighed 265 lbs and I played that stupid yo-yo game again of follow the plan 100% for 4 or 5 days, lose some lbs and reward myself for a job well done by eating crappy carbs -- regain some of the weight... etc etc. Some of you know that game.

Actually, I've been doing that most of my life -- lost literally 100s of lbs over the decades, thought I was on a DIET and the end result being lose the weight and think I could eat like regular carb eating people -- like that really worked -- NOT. I finally figured out that I am NOT a carb eater and I had to remember that. I am ultra sensitive to carbs. Right now I have 10-12 carbs a day and I'll be at week 46 starting tomorrow.

So that's my story in a nut shell.

Wishing all of us continued success on our personal LC WOE journeys!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've lost 1/2 myself (125 lbs) in 41 weeks!!
It’s the Courage to Continue that Counts.” Winston Churchill
It’s my Salvation, my KEY to being
Healthy, Happy and Thinner!”
Welcome Just Jo ! The great thing about this challenge is that everyone makes it what they personally want to accomplish... I think your goal is a good one
Mary - I hope you have a restful day
So I got talked into going to see Godzilla this afternoon with DD, her fiancé and DH .. wouldn't have been my first choice, but they all want to go see it.
Welcome Just Jo...any goal is a good goal.
Been a bit down this weekend. Could have stayed in bed all day. Woke up wanting to cry, so I did. Eventually got dressed and had breakfast, went for a walk down the street. Could go back to bed. But the sunshine is out.
Hello Everyone ~ Heavy Sigh I just can't seem to get in and stay in the groove. 2 steps forward, 3 steps back. Good news ... weight has stayed the same. Not far off my exercise and step goal. I just need to get back on the wagon and stay on. Going to go back and look at my goals for this challenge.
to everyone who is new and I look forward to getting to know you.
to everyone who is working their plan and losing
to everyone who needs them.
