Maybe you could just take the bacon for everyone. Fruit?? I thought you said bacon!!
Can you cut the glazed part of the ham off and just eat the middle? I know how you feel. My inlaws make scones every Easter. Scones, fruit with dip, and an egg casserole that has hash browns in it.

Thanks Jaz, I am requested to take cut strawberries.
I was taking the bacon for myself. She will be insulted and complain if I take something she has not asked me to bring. I thought I would take the bacon and eat it on the fly....crazy I know...t

I am making this on the weekend... It can be frozen as well. I plan to rollout like a sausage and slice thin to eat. Its gyro recipe from Alton Brown(food network). I will either cut the onion/garlic down or just use some powder because I conserve on carbs as much as possible

Ingredients
1 medium onion, finely chopped or shredded
2 pounds ground lamb
1 tablespoon finely minced garlic
1 tablespoon dried marjoram
1 tablespoon dried ground rosemary
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Plan on using my rotisserie to cook...

Julie....My "humble" advice is: Don't piss off MIL. If one off-plan meal kills you, we'd all be dead. Just be SURE you get right back on plan. That's the REAL danger of a meal off plan.....some people use it as an excuse to go completely crazy for days, weeks, months ad infinitum!! Eating something high protein just before you go to her house will definitely help. Maybe take some almonds with you in your purse and then eat them about 1/2 hour before dinner. You can always eat them in the bathroom if you don't want anyone to know.

I am going to my oldest daughter's for Easter and she cooks NOT low-carb. I eat a reasonable amount and then get right back on plan. Since I don't go to her house for dinner very often, it's not a big deal. If I did, I'd have to refrain from most of what she cooks....but since I don't, I don't bother. My main downfall is eating out with friends. It seems like just about any activity involves eating/drinking and that's NOT a good thing.

Let us know how it goes. You should "develop food allergies" in the near future and then you could use that as a reason to bring your own food next time. Say, allergies to wheat....that takes care of bread and anything that has flour in it. I don't know if there even is an allergy to sugar. You might research that...but.... you could always tell them that your doctor said your bloodsugar is too high and you must avoid sugar too...which, let's face it....when we eat carbs, it does send our blood sugar soaring so that's not exactly a lie. No one would have to know that the allergies aren't real. Your hubby wouldn't rat you out, would he?

Julie, I say don't let your MIL bully you into going off plan. Honestly, who cares if you piss of your MIL? You need to take care of yourself. Take what you want to eat and fits your needs. Strawberries and unsweetened cream are a really good choice though. Just don't over-indulge yourself.

I started tracking using "the pal" yesterday. I put in the carb and protein amounts my doctor recommends. I realized I had been going over in protein and that was probably causing my stall. I did keep my carbs well below so that was good.

Yes! I was going to say I recently found out I have food allergies...and the blood sugar thing is great! I was already prediabetic at 248 in 2006 could pull this out of the hat too!!

Good Morning Ladies,

Yes I just returned from vacation and this is the damage I did. No one to blame but myself. It's funny how I can put weight on so fast, but it takes so long to get it off! Once I went off plan I binged. Well it's back to low carb ,drinking water and walking three miles. I know I won't reach the goal I set for this month, but I'll try to get as low as I can.
I hope everyone had a great Easter.
Have a great day!

Up a half a pound. Getting frustrated. I stayed on plan yesterday. I didn't have one cheat. Not even a jellybean. I'm still waiting for that drop to my ten pound mini goal.

I hope you all have a good Monday!

Sammi, I'm proud of you that you came right back here after your bingey vacation and OWNED it! WTG! That's the way to get back on track!

Me, on the other hand. Yeah, that was Easter. fistful of jelly beans, chocolate easter candy, various delicious pies. UGH. I feel so sicky and blah this morning! It doesn't make me feel good. . then WHY do I eat that crap?

Here's to the new week!

Hear come peter cotton tail knocking me off the onderland trail...

PEACE! Hope you guys had a good Easter.

I am not getting on that scale. What I did at my company for a little Marathon remembrance and over Easter nah no thanks. I am going to clean out this week and weigh later. I haven't weighed since I discovered I had gone down 217 last Thursday. (Clothes feel good. Bought some jeans that was 2 size smaller than normal. I want to keep that good feeling. so shoot me.)

Congrats to all those who lost. Keep the faith for those who didn't or gained a little. Forward!

Later!
