Welcome WhtUGt. There will be a new Challenge next week since May Day is May 1st. This one has been going on for a while now.

What does everyone think about the 4th of July - that would be 8 weeks. Is that too long?

Welcome WhtUgt2lz

Cindy- Hope you feel better soon!

Mary- 8 weeks would be a good time period to set some mini goals. I like breaking this journey down into mini goals to keep motivated.

Made a yummy "pizza" omelet last night for dinner- mozzarella, onion, mushroom, peppers, sausage, pepperoni and about 3 T. pizza sauce. It sure satisfied my pizza cravings.

Monday Check In ~ Last night, I had such a terrible indigestion, I couldn't sleep. Terrible pressure. It has happened before and is another wake up call! Funny thing is I had a really good on plan eating day yesterday so it kind of scared me.

Today was even better. I'm feeling really hungry now but I've just finished all my emails, etc and I'm going to bed 11:39pm. Before my meeting tonight, I stopped and had a salad from subway.

Hoping that even cleaner eating will make me feel better, get the scale to start moving, etc. etc.

Thanks Oncloud ~ How are you?

Thanks JoLynn ~ Your omelet sounds

I have had a rough couple nights sleep so last night I stopped drinking and eating at 6 pm, only listened to white lullaby music at night, read out of an old fashioned romance book, until I felt sleepy and sort of slept, but it was a long night. I am going to try it again tonight and see if it makes a difference. I know sleep is so important to healing and to a healthy weight. When we are sick or tired, we crave carbs for quick energy. I don't want to go there.

Hoping you get a better night's sleep tonight, Mary.
I didn't sleep well last night . . . for no good reason and not typical of me.
Something in the spring air, maybe?

I have not read the Power of Now, but I have read Tolle's A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose. I am guessing his message is much the same, but to tell the truth I need to thumb through it again. I recall thinking it was among the better of the "self help" genre.

I've been waking at 5:00 am or earlier. Can't go back to sleep. Not getting enough sleep really plays havoc with my weight.

Hi everyone, I have been reading for quite awhile but never posted. I am new to this kind of thing. After reading for so long I feel like I almost know some of you, I would like to continue that.

Tuesday Check In ~ Slept great last night and wow do I feel so much better today. Stayed on plan. Had a hunger moment at around 3 but I had a cup of hot tea even though today was the hottest day of the year, so far 70 degrees

Mary ~ I hope you get a good night sleep tonight.

Patience ~ Maybe that is the case because it seems that several people are talking about having sleeping issues.

OnCloud ~ Yikes 5am is early. What time do you normally go to bed?

I had a conversation with a friend the other day who was sharing with me how he was having trouble sleeping and a friend had recommended that he get some lavender oil and put a drop on each wrist and also massage a drop on his temples. He said after doing that he has been sleeping like a baby. It was interesting that so many posts have been about not sleeping well. Maybe I was supposed to share...
I just thought I would pass it along.

ColoMtnLady I like you have been reading for a long time and decided to join in.

Cindy-glad you're feeling better. Strange weather here-supposed to be 95 on Thurs. Yuck!

Welcome, CoMtnLady. I will look for the lavender oil. I like the scent. Last night I got about 4 hrs then another 1-2 hrs. I have to kep a journal to see if that is a pattern for me. I may try a sleeping med to regulate it if necessary. But will exhaust natural means fisrt.

Patience, I just downloaded the Tolle book you mentioned in audio. Will check in out.

Am also listening to a book called "Fat, Salt and Sugar". It is kind of repetitive. Don't don't know how long I will last.

Hi everyone, thanks for the welcome. I am waiting, none too patiently, for spring to raise its beautiful head. It has snowed for the last three days. I guess when you live above 10,000 ft that is expected but I so want to see green. My husband and I are taking a mini-vacation to Arizona next week, I want to be HOT.

ColoMtnLady ~ It snowed here recently but today was beautiful. Have fun in Arizona. Looking forward to getting to know more about you.

JoLynn on the pounds gone and thanks for the tip about lavender oil. I will try it next time.

Mary ~ Are you waking up because of pain?

Great day to you to WhtUgt2lz

Congrats to all who made progress with this challenge .... I think I set myself way too much of a goal this time around, didn't even get close ! On the positive side, I am down 10 pounds since I started

Mary, July 4 sounds good ... hope you are sleeping better

Cindy, glad you're feeling better

CoMtnLady, welcome ! I have some good friends there, beautiful in the mountains

WhtUgt2lz, welcome !

See the surgeon tmw, hoping to get rid of this wheelchair and move to a cane .. at least then I can get out of the house and start walking ... being stuck at home has led to some backsliding, no excuse, but will be getting back on plan 100% today.. need to get back to checking in here everyday as well, I notice it makes a HUGE difference on how my day goes if I don't .. accountability and support is so important

Hope everyone has a great day !

Hi all! I've heard lavender is supposed to be relaxing JoLynn so it sounds reasonable that the oil would help you sleep. Worth a try!

Welcome Colo!!!! So glad you decided to let us get to know you too!! We can always use another friend and supporter.

Does anyone know how to start our new thread? MaryMary, are you up to it? I have never started one.

Oh, Cindy, I don't have a set bedtime. Maybe I should. I try to go to bed by 9:00 when I'm getting up at 6:30 to babysit.
