Thinking of joining in here. I've had some modest success, about 10 lbs lost since the beginning of the year, with some admitted cheats.

I can try to commit to being under 25g of carbs per day. May I join?

Today's my weigh day. Down 2lbs from last week. Have been eating on plan but could do better with the exercise and water.
DH made grilled salmon with salad tonight-delish!

Finally down a half pound, first drop in three weeks.
I am learning, though, that so far if I stay on plan I do eventually hit a new low.
I've not done A levels for staying on plan, I'd give myself a B . . . . so I can do better.

I'm up to 3 cheat-free days now, haven't lost anything more yet, but my pants feel a bit looser.

Checking in...I've been so busy! I went on a retreat on Tuesday, yesterday was a long day at work. Today is much calmer and I don't have any plans for this evening! I'm sticking to plan and slowly losing weight.

Welcome sk8er!!!

I'm still around 255. Want to be 250 for goal. Not giving 100%; eating snacks again. On plan, just too much!

I'm doing good :-) The scale has been good this week, mostly because I cut back on carbs (under 10 a day) and have been great on water this week. I realized a funny thing this week, at least funny to me. I've been trying to figure out for the last couple of months why my car seat doesn't go up higher like it used to..... it dawned on me it's because I don't sit as high anymore because I've lost weight and my bum is smaller! No complaints on that one :-)

I'm home !!!! Surgery went well, and because I was a tad obsessive with exercising in preparation I was able to come home with nurse and PT coming to the house instead of going to rehab.. I did have to scoot up 12 stairs into the house on my butt LOL

Mary - glad to see you are home as well, keep healing

Hope everyone else is doing good, and I thank you all for your thoughts and prayers

Yay for smaller bum, Kathy!!! I admire your willpower! Under 10 carbs would be hard for me. I'm just not as focused as I should be. I must continue this woe for life so I am consistent with foods but since life has changed recently, I'm eating too many nuts and pork skins. DH and I are babysitting our sweet grandson. I would never have been able without this woe. I know when I'm doing it what I'm doing; I just haven't been able to stop myself some nights. Those nights add back the lb or 2 that my good behavior has helped me lose. ?? If you have any ideas for help, I would appreciate them. Blech

Yikes, woke up this morning and had completely forgot my Thursday Check In. Friday Check In - early because today is going to be CRAZY!! (My event is on Saturday).

All good and so happy, I've finally dropped 1 pound. It has been weeks!!

sk8termom ~ I look forward to getting to know more about you (have you been on before - the name sounds kind of familiar)

JoLynn ~ Down 2 pounds is awesome

Patience ~ Slow and steady winning the race

Kath17 ~ Woo Hoo to a smaller bum

Jessworth ~ I've always wanted to go to a retreat? How was it?

Oncloud ~ I have to completely stay away from nuts and most low carb snacks because I just eat way to many.

Home JoanneO ~ So happy that everything went well.

Reptogirl

I better get to work

I don't know if I have ideas, but I can share what I do. In no particular order:

1. I prepare ahead of time for everyday. As soon as I get home from work I make sure my meals, water and vitamins are set for the next day. I don't relax or unwind until everything is set.
2. I have, sugar-free pickles, cheese, pepperoni, nuts or leftovers (and once in awhile I order low carb muffins which don't stall me and I'll make a cheesecake about once every two or three months) available if I'm feeling too hungry, but always go for a 24 ounce bottle of water first before snacking, so I seldom eat anything but my meals.
3. I take mega doses of vitamin c which gives me more energy and usually puts me in a good mood.
4. For the last couple of months I've been cutting back on my portion sizes and aim to eat as clean as possible.
5. I aim to drink half my body weight in water every day, usually I can be about 20ozs short, but have gotten better to be on point.
6. I try my best to get enough sleep, I realize when I'm tired I crave food more.
7. I use the scale to give me a good idea if I'm on the right track and make adjustments with my food if I need to, like having too much salt.
8. I avoid going out to restaurants or out to drink, but if I do I plan ahead of time what I'll have or even eat prior to going if there are no decent low carb options.
9. I limit my dairy no more than one ounce a day, but aim for only having 2-4 times a week and only put in 1tbsp of hwc in my coffee.
10. I don't eat or drink anything after 6:30pm.
11. Working hard to focus on the positives with this journey and look forward to my future achievements. And rewarding myself for reaching small goals with non-food things that I will enjoy.

The one thing I don't do much of is exercise. I have some equipment at home and a nice local place to walk, but this is my biggest work in progress.

None of these things make me feel deprived at all. HTH.

It was very nice. It was just half a day. I go to a few retreats a year. They range from half a day to a few days. It is important to select the kind of retreat you want. This one was on the call to evangelize. I know the speaker and have heard him speak before so I was pretty sure it would be good. Other retreats are self guided with no speaking, mostly silent meditative prayer.

Kathy- Some of your items hit home with me. No eating after 6:30 would help I'm sure because the munchy snacks are always around 8:00 pm. I have to be careful with my water because of my kidney problems. Don't need to input more than I can output, KWIM? I'm not exercising either but I walk over a mile each day with my daily life. I know I should do more. Making myself drink a large amount of water before a snack sounds like a good tip! I'll get going; this is my way of life if I want to continue living. Thanks for taking time out to post.

Cindy- I'm thinking the same thing about nuts. If I could keep my portion size under control they would not stall me ; haven't in the past. My problem is taking the bag into the den in front of the tv!! I know, sooo bad!!!

This is a great list, thanks for sharing, Kath. I don't do nuts, and try to avoid the baked goods . . . I whipped up some dessert things when I first joined, but I find I lose better the simpler I keep things. I am challenged to keep drinking water, but I am doing better of late.

Frustrating day - I ate Chinese food last night, on plan, except for the hot and sour soup which I think had lots of salt/MSG. Woke up this morning all bloated out, +3 lbs. But strangely, all of my clothes are fitting looser now, especially pants. So hopefully I'm in for a whoosh soon. Have a great Saturday!

I love hot and sour soup, but haven't had any for a very long time.
MSG, for sure. Any body have a good home made version?

I lost two pounds this week. Of course the scale is up today, I expect that.
But I can't remember ever dropping two pounds in a week. Not exactly a whoosh maybe, but the closest thing to it in a year. I had been pretty much stalled for 5 - 6 weeks, so I am happy about that. I only record my lows, so I'll settle in for a stretch now of staying on plan and waiting. . . . . I am drinking lots more water. I wonder if that has helped. I think the warmer weather is making it easier for me to drink lots of water.
