I'm back!!'

After two & 1/2 years of sucessful maintenance... My original weight loss of approx. 179 pounds... Has almost all been gained back. This fills me with shame and disappointment. About 2 1/2 years after I started on my original low carb weight loss journey, my life went off the rails. I tried to maintain during the first year but the separation of my toxic long term partner (13yrs) and I took more out of me than I could manage. For the last two years I snuggled in with my food blanket to survive.

Currently I am happy and safe and have great support and love back in my life. Starting Monday (1/27/14) I am ready to start again.

This board was such a wonderful source of info and support that I had thought if forgotten about. As I was laying here this AM, I suddenly remembered.... LOW CARB FRIENDS!!! When the site loaded I actually got tears in my eyes remembering all of the wonderful posts and support I got. So I'm posting again to say hi! And to ask a few questions...

Here are my questions...

1. The weight flew off me my first time. Any advice for second timers ?

2. I'm starting with Atkins induction... Gonna see how it goes for a few weeks. The first time I stayed on induction for 2 1/2 years. Has there been any changes or updates about phase time length?

3. Your support and encouragement would help me beyond measure.

Thank you !!!

Welcome back - I'm trying to get back on track as well, after a promising start to the New Year and then screwing up.

We can all do this!!!!

Let go of the shame, and just restart your journey.
I think Atkins in all its variations is about the same.
Its a good place to start because most everyone knows the rules.
I like the nutritional ketosis variation, which is basically low carb, just enough enough protein, and higher fat. After some time on induction you might consider that.

Aronace....Hi there....just thought I would get back on track as we say again with you....So many words we could use to tell why we got off but they all say the same thing....It is time for us to get back on board....So I would like to get back on with you.
The No flour, No Sugar works for me and I don't use any of the products anywhere for help...works for me....I will not give up my Iced Tea with lots of ice and no lemon but with a sweet and low and cucumber slices LOL....So now I am ready to get on board

Hi to everyone....

I started today by cleaning out my icebox as we call it...lol...and cutting up lots of veggies and meats to put in small bags for my husband to take with him to work...He is going on for this ride too.... I made sure all No No's are gone, the M&Ms from all the little machines my hubby likes to collect in his home office...I made chicken salad with Mayo and veggies we are allowed and some boiled eggs to have...I know that this has always been the plan for me for it always works, it just seems when stressful things get in the way I get off track with careless eating ....So the clean start is now....This is the highest weight ever for me and I hated seeing that #...Closed my eyes and opened them again and it didn't go away ...So I am going to be honest and keep checking it...

I live in the desert of AZ so it stays hot here and it says 87 right now so I just will walk on my treadmill that stares at me...lol...then in pool when it gets hot in the summer...Now that I am home all day I try to keep to my hobbies to stay focused on not picking up snacks to eat on while I cross stitch or working on a quilt...learning anyway...I read a lot on my kindle so I try to look for recipe books for new ideals for our meals...I am ready for this weight to go and stay gone...So I will enjoy learning what works for everyone here and hope to be a support for I sure need it.....

I too am back after many years of abusing my body with food and gaining everything back plus some. You can do it!! Good to know I am not the only one to gain it all back and come back. Stick to it and you will be successful!!!

I just recently got back on the wagon too. I had to turn this around before I gained back everything I lost. I have my willpower back like I did back in '03. Just harder now being 10 years older. WE CAN DO THIS!!!
