One of "those" people....

Yes, I'm one of those people - returning at the beginning of a new year in the hopes I can finally kick my carb habit and lose these unhealthy/unwanted pounds this time around.
Today was my first day...as I finally got rid of house guests yesterday. Yes, I'm totally using houseguests as an excuse to not eat healthy (I'll use any excuse...)
Not anymore!! I'm so determined this time around. My BP is getting harder to control and my weight is back on the up-tick. I have to take some control!!!
I've always found wonderful support on these boards in the past...and I hope to find it again - if you guys will have me...AGAIN.
So my first day back in the saddle and I didn't eat breakfast and forgot my lunch...so grabbed a bottle of water and a bag of jerky (I found the one with the least amount of sugar at 7-11). So, doing okay for today so far. We're having ribeyes tonight with a salad...hopefully there will be plenty left for me to bring for lunch tomorrow.

back!

Doesn't matter when you start, just start! I think many people can relate to you and excuses, whatever they may be.... I know personally, I was just done with it all and so ready to take back my health. It's not been an easy road but I'm learning to carve out my little niche as I go along.

Good for you for taking back control. Now, let's see what 2014 has in store for you! You can do it!

I'm one of those! Last effort was in 2009, still had my Ketostix and Atkins bars in the pantry from then. I feel strongly that this time around, it will happen. I'm tired of being the fat one in pictures and avoiding the lens when it comes to family shots because of it. Good luck to you! I'll keep an eye out for your updates.

I know exactly how you feel. I think its harder now to avoid cameras then it was 10 years ago...now every time you go somewhere with friends someone is always taking pictures for Facebook, Twitter, Vine etc. Annoying! LOL

Good luck to you as well We can totally do this!!!!!

Well I am back again as well Ladies and Gents! Just keep trying and won't give up on this fight because it is my life I am fighting for.

Down 11 pounds but still not back at my signature weight. Soon I hope.

I too am restarting as of just 2 days ago. Haven't been here in years, let life get in the way of keeping my eye on the prize and putting everyone else before me. We can all do this....planning is a big key I know for me.

I restarted LC in October but was totally a New Years Revolutioner on the exercise, new gym membership and all.

Except for some carby days around Christmas, been SUPER SUPER on plan and everything. Now all of a sudden, the last 2 days have been not wanting to go to the gym and eating everything in sight. Now, "everything in sight" means only things that are on plan because that's pretty much all I have in the house. EXCEPT now the bag of chocolate chips that has been in the cupboard for a while is trying to call my name.

As I type this, I do have my workout clothes on so that's sort of half the battle. But it's going to take some pushing that for the last 3 weeks hasn't been necessary. I need to find my happy place.

Quick update on me - After kidney surgery and some recovery I've been back on LC since 2/3/14 and doing well. I'm currently in my "end of induction stall" but I've taken off 15.2 lbs. since re-starting. I haven't lost any weight for 6 days, but I haven't gained either...staying the course, I know my whoosh will come!

Definitely keep at it...those "whooshes" are best when they are earned through hard work and persistence.
