January 2014
Start- 269.8
Goal- 259.8

1/6- 269.8
1/7- 266.0 Suck on that water weight!!!

Looks like everyone is doing great! Sometimes, bad or good, the hard part is just getting here and being accountable! And we are all doing that, so that's a win in my book!

What plans does everyone here follow? I'm doing a kind of Atkins/Protein Power hybrid at the moment because I haven't decided which book to re-read lol

Laura~ hang in there, hon! I soooo relate to the frustration, but the weight will have choice but to move when it realizes that it's "safe" to do so... is this a set-point weight for you??
I've had a 3.8 lb loss for the week total so I think my body is kinda saying...wait a sec!..let me catch up!

I've also started back at the gym and hitting weights pretty hard as my other half is into weight lifting and he is "molding" me.. so I think my body is in like shock......

Terri - as a lifetime yo-yo'er, I totally know how you feel, but don't fret too much - the holidays just passed and that's a tough time for anyone. You have come such a long way and are an inspiration to people like me with such a long way to go! It seems like every time I log in to a weight loss site that I've used in the past I find these old weights and measurements from 2, 4, 6 years ago... boy is that depressing. I only wish I had taken control of my weight back then and not let it snowball like I did, then maybe I'd only have to lose 60 lbs instead of 120 now. That's my re-motivation. Some days we just have to dig a little deeper to find it!

Sara - I follow Atkins and stay pretty close to induction with a few exceptions, I recently started using almond meal and adding a few berries.

Laura - don't worry, the scale will eventually adjust. Mine bounces like crazy, sometimes for weeks at a time, which is hard to mentally absorb when I know I've been on plan, but I kind of expect it now especially with daily weighing. Hang in there.

Looking good everyone!

Thanks Bren, as you said, its hard when you know you've behaved and still no movement except in the wrong direction! I have to stay on plan as I have no carb foods in the house anymore so no temptation to cheat (thank goodness!) and its so cold out, who wants to go out anyway? lol

Shelly, we all like that whoosh! Stay with it, we know you can do it!

Katy, ramen budget.... we've all been there before! I shop with calculator in hand so I feel ya!

Have a great Wednesday all, we're halfway to the weekend and for those of us in the NE, it'll be warmer by Friday!!!

I hear ya on the bouncing around for no apparent reason. I am "The Bouncing Queen." I gain SO easily it's pathetic. Due, I'm sure, to almost 10 years of following Susan Powter's Low-Fat/High-Carb WOE and totally killing my metabolism.

Sara....I am doing LC close to the induction plan of Protein Power. I try to keep my carbs below 20/day. I bought the book "Atkins New Diet Revolution," but haven't really read it yet. I started this WOE with the Protein Power Plan by the Drs. Eades. I think I should re-read their book too.

You guys are doing good. KUTGW....we WILL do it this time and never come back to our current weights.

Bren, I said the very exact thing about bouncing into the 30's .... I guess it's all relative, isn't it? I am always trying to spin things into more positive outcomes--it's what's kept me going during some of these crazier months.

Started tracking all my food, just trying to figure out a good ratio for everything, I remember reading one somewhere that I think worked in the past for me, but just can't recall where... So I'll have to figure it out myself, yesterday I was 11% carbs (gross, not net), 73% fat and 16% protein, def going to get more lean protein in today. Not sure if I should focus on the ratios or the actual grams each day... hmmm....

And I felt really GOOD this morning! guh

So, My oldest grandson, (5 years old) said to me yesterday, "MiMi, why are you so FAT?" Well, he said it with half a grin on his face which means he was TRYING to be funny. I understood that. I was never offended. I'm hardly ever offended about ANYTHING (after all, I'm really not FAT anymore ). His Mom, my daughter, was. We both knew that he didn't mean it in a BAD way, but we also recognized the opportunity and need to teach him a lesson about bullying. By the time it was over, he was crying, we were crying and he was sooooo sorry! I hated to have to do that to him, but it's one of those life lessons that have to be learned. And he is the PERFECT age to "get it".

Have a lovely Thursday, all!

i am not having the big week one weight loss some of you are having. Well i'm week two and spent week one on my period so maybe that's why. That was all the 292/293 days. it's going down at least

My 3 (will be 4 in March) year old son is asking a lot about why my tummy is big lately. I have tried to explain how it isn't polite but he honestly doesn't get it quite yet.

I've noticed the same thing Katy, I remember back in the day having some pretty epic losses the first week, but the more I screw up and start over the first weeks aren't as awesome as they used to be. Not quite sure why, but hoping to quit stopping and starting and not have to worry about it!
