Teresa - reading through and going to introduce myself soon (just started yesterday). But I absolutely have that same problem - I don't feel as bad as I look - I know I am big but don't feel unhealthy and somehow don't realize how big until I see a picture, then DAMN!

Introducing Self

Joining in with the 200+ club . Hit 200 about 5 years ago (and amazingly kept going!). I have done lc in past with great success (although never completed all four phases but returned to the "regular" way of eating that had made me gain in the first place ) although my starting weight was much lower that time (btwn 160-170). I started LC again yesterday and think coming to this forum can provide support, information and encouragement as I begin this long journey to goal, and then hopefully maintenance!
Have a wonderful day.

Joanne....Good luck with the surgery. Prayers coming your way for a successful surgery and a fast and complete recovery. Love the jpg about bacon. That's my favorite meat. I'm glad I like it crispy....makes it lower calorie.

Having bacon & eggs for my first meal today...then a winter shake for dinner. Hopefully, tomorrow's scale will be kind to me. LOL

....Vegas!! Good to have you aboard the "loser's train." I have the same problem. I don't "feel" as big as I am. Kinda the opposite of someone who has anorexia. They look in a mirror and see themselves as fat even though they are skinny. I don't "feel" as fat as I am until I look in a mirror.

KUTGW, everyone....we are going to rock this month!!

Good Morning,

Judy, what is a winter shake? Sounds yummy.
I am going on a trip for one week next week and I am going to try so hard to stay on plan. This will be such a challenge .

In the Winter when it’s too cold to enjoy a cold shake, I make a Winter Shake.
Nutritionally, it is the same as a regular shake, but is not so cold.

Basically, it's a protein shake without ice cubes and most of the water. This is what I do for a Chocolate Shake....

Put 1 & 1/2 scoops of Chocolate Protein Powder in a small bowl.
Add a tsp or so of Hershey’s Unsweetened Cocoa Powder. Stir with a fork to mix.
Add a splash of Sugar Free Syrup (any flavor that goes with Chocolate).
Add about 2 Tbsp Heavy Whipping Cream.
Stir with a fork.
Add water a "little" at a time (Like a 1/2 tsp at a time. It's easy to get too much).
Stir with the fork after each water addition until it's the consistency of brownie batter.
Add 2 Tbsp of Cool Whip.
Stir, mixing well. It should look like cake batter.
Eat with a spoon like pudding.

I use Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard Protein

I use Chocolate, Vanilla Ice Cream, and Strawberry Banana Protein Powder.

You are limited only by the syrups you have on hand and your imagination. The combinations are endless.
I use Da Vinci Gourmet Sugar Free Flavored Syrups
I have Amaretto syrup, Caramel, Vanilla, Raspberry, Hazlenut, Toffee, Crème de Menthe, Cherry, Coconut….I can't even remember what all. Keeps me from getting bored with the shakes. Hope this helps.

Since I'm hypothyroid, I avoid ALL Soy products. Research shows soy messes with the thyroid.

Thank you Judy, I will try the shake. Just two more questions please. I have never tried protein powder, what brand do you buy and what is the total carb count? Thank you!

Hi, Sammi....The nutrition counts for 1 scoop of the Double Rich Chocolate are:

Calories - 120
Fat - 1 gram
Cholesterol - 30 mg
Sodium - 130 mg
Total Carbs - 3 grams
Sugars - 1 gram
Protein - 24 grams

If you want to email me, I have some more information that would interest you, but can't post it.

My email addy is:

I'm going to cut back on the protein powder (to 1 scoop) when I have bacon & eggs for brunch as I'm getting enough protein on those days. When I have less protein for brunch, I'll keep doing the 1 & 1/2 scoops. If you decide to do just 1 scoop cut back a little on the syrup and cream/water. Might not even need any water with just 1 scoop.

I'm home !!!!! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, surgery went well, and I was able to skip going to rehab and come home with nurse and PT coming here... as I can't put any weight on the leg for 4 weeks, I'll be renting a wheelchair for getting around the house... way easier than hopping on a walker ! And it's good to be home

Hope everyone has been doing good, I'll probably try and get on the scale tomorrow ...

.......Amylynn....Good to have you aboard the loser's train. I got off the train yesterday and paid for it this morning. The scale was NOT nice to me....and I didn't blame it. It's been kinda quiet in here the last few days. Hopefully, those MIA will be back posting soon.

My stupid scale!!!! I got up at 4:30 am to let the dog out and I weighed. It looked like I had a swoosh. Then hubby weighed this morning, said the scale was off, and moved it around until it weighed him right. He always stays about the same. I weighed again and I didn't have a woosh.

Is it too late to join a challenge? I recently lost over 20 pounds at an office challenge....when it was over I lost my motivation.....I need serious help! I can't find a shred of "I care".....please, somebody, I'm serious.

How do I get past this to get motivated again? I know someone somewhere has faced this and overcome it.

How is your health? I recently found out I'm pre-diabetic. That got me serious. I refuse to be diabetic. Plus the fitness thing I use said I am extremely obese. Extremely. That got me going too. I know how you are feeling. I go through phases where I just don't care. I think I'm sufficiently scared this time.

Good Morning,

JudyJo I have been where you are many ,many times. I just returned from vacation and gained 7 pounds. It will take me awhile to get back to where I was. My motivation is being able to walk. At my highest weight I was in so miserable. It was very painful to walk. My knees just could not take the weight. I could not do a thing. Traveling was painful, going to work was painful, wearing ugly clothes, people staring at me. Life was not fun. I wanted to live. I wanted to enjoy life. When I joined these forums it helped me tremendously. I could relate to many posts here. Their struggles were mine. I hope when you read these posts it will give you motivation to be healthy. When I feel like I am losing motivation, I just keep posting and reading old posts. They really help me. You can do this!
