back from Kens doc appointment his a1c was 8.6 doc starting him on a low dose of metformin FINALLY admitting Ken was diabetic
upped a lot of his other meds added diclofinac hopefully might help with his pain good thing though the VA will get him a meter and strips to test 2x a week
stopped and got to see Mollykins for about an hour Ken needed to get home so he and Steven could work on the hole to get under the house
i have been driving ken kooky today talking so much about poor Karen and Mike i soo wish i could help her i sent a card today but it doesn't seem like doing anything KWIM?
Kenny had a job interview at 2pm oh i hope he gets it i don't even know what it is but he wore his suit to it been afraid to call in case he is still there
he said if he doesn't get it he will go back in the woods with Will next week so they can make the rent i am TERRIFIED of that happening
waves howdy at everyone i have to run back to town to take redbox back and i am thinking of just hitting the hay afterwards i am mentally physically and emotionally exhausted
love to everyone

It is a white Santa Fe Limited and has all the bells and whistles. Ended up taking the extended 10 year bumper to bumper Hyundai Protection Plan because the Finance guy got me 1.99% rate for a six year loan. So now my 36,000 miles still has 64,000 moles left on the warranty. If we don't drive it all the time, it will last the full length of the warranty.

Deb, glad Ken is finally getting help. I wonder if the diabetes was causing his problems. That's scary. Try reading the book, Dr Neal Barnard's Program to Prevent Diabetes without drugs. Even if he still needs drugs, maybe he won't need as many. Cut out the sugar and alcohol. Have him eat lots of veggies. I go for my blood glucose levels in January and hubby goes today. We have been following it a bit so it will be interesting to see how it goes. My DH has insulin sensitivity which doesn't show up on a blood glucose test. When he has his appt Thursday am, I am asking the doctor for that test for him. Even if he can't do anything except eat 6 times a day, at least we will know more about it and what the pitfalls are, and what his action plan is. When he has an attack, he goes into a zone and has a hard time communicating, until he eats something or takes a glucose pill. This is dangerous if he is driving.

We got our Christmas gift this week. A new TV. Need to carry it in the house from the garage and then recruit some boys from the street to carry the old clunker from our house to the garage. I am going to put a pile of stuff together in the spring to donate to a charity. With our new car, if we have the boys put it in the back of my Santa Fe, then I can drop it off at the Goodwill. Yeh! We can finally start to declutter in ernest. My New Year's resolution. Getting rid of stuff. Yeh!

Keepingawake, we don't get many visitors at Christmastime, just DD and her BF on the day. But we keep cliff bars, larabars and luna bars for quick snack for DH. I don't eat them as they have grain in them.

Sorry to hear of Ken's fall. Is he going for an xray?

Mary, congrats on the new car! Deb, so sorry Ken got hurt.

I had a pipe burst in basement this morning. I've gotten a lot of the water up and gotten a lot of bags of ruined stuff out. I'm so tired now. plumber won't be here to fix pipe until tomorrow. Still so much to clean. The only good thing is the basement will be cleaner than I've ever seen it!

Deb, glad the blockage has been fixed and that Ken did not do all the work. Good luck finishing all the work today! My basement is nothing in comparison. Almost all of what was ruined was my grondmother's stuff (bought her house after she passed). Still have a lot to do today. Not looking forward to it; especially cleaning with bleach it really sets off my asthma. First on my agenda is to return to bucket wringer I bought yesterday because it's missing a wheel, I don't know how they even could have packaged that and not realized there was a part missing. I know my boss is not happy with me for taking today off but I have to get all the water cleaned up before the mold starts. I get very sick if there's mold.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well.

It's snowing here today. I had to take another day off from work to keep cleaning mess in basement. Tried using shower today and toilet started overflowing like crazy. Water is not my friend this week.
