DD coming today and I have to work 10 to 4:30. Looking forward to our first whole food plant-based Thanksgiving, with a token turkey breast for the meat eaters.

Wishing you and your a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving!

How's everyone doing? Did anything exciting happen over the long weekend?

Today was the official weigh-in day. I came in at 143.4 lbs, Because my weight is below the minimum goal of 148 lbs that was set for me, I had to add a third piece of fruit at supper. Fruit should stop the weightloss as it always has in the past. I am trying to avoid adding in more protein as I already eat about 100 grams of protein a day. You would think I was a body builder with that much.

I think I will try to renegotiate my goal and make it 140 - 145 lbs, then I won't have to add in more food. Here's hoping! It is definitely a luxury problem.

How is everyone doing so far this week? Awfully quiet in here!!

Plugging along over here. Finally found the new low again that I had right before Thanksgiving! What a relief!

I am doing fine. My weight loss is really really slow now, but I did see a half pound down this week. One pound in over two months! But I am going in the right direction, and given that I am determined to be "patient" I will take it. I am just reporting, not complaining. I am packing away all my size 14 pants and that's pretty amazing in itself. In January the whole box goes to salvation army or good will. No looking back.

My epiphany occurs (I say occurs because I have done this weight-loss journey a few times before) when I can no longer wear any of my clothes and there is no money to go buy new ones. When I can feel my heart pounding just moving around the house. When I start to feel numbness in my hands and feet, when my arthritis becomes debilitating. And suddenly I remember, "Oh yeah, this is when I need to lose weight. Remember how good 'healthy' feels?"

I'm fine. Got blood work results and doc took me off triglycerides med and will recheck in 6 months. Yay! Had a mole removed from my side and a biopsy on a spot on my leg done yesterday. Doc is not real concerned but wants to be sure. So do I!

I have restarted this week. I am on medication that added 20 pounds to my already large frame. I had to draw a line in the sand and say "woah! This is going no further." I have just reached the point that I'm tired of feeling tired and old.

So that was my Epiphany and I'm ready to get this done.

OK, I'm really frustrated. November has been pretty much a wash. I have lost and gained the same 3 lbs over and over again. Lost 53lbs at lowest; yesterday lost 51lbs today lost 50lbs. 50 to 53 lbs over and over.
Danielle, I may be about ready to join you. I am going to try my muffins first. That's the only thing that has changed; I haven't been eating them and they do help with the potty. I know, TMI! We shall see.

Induction is going okay so far. I'm increasing my walking and trying to stay clear of all my kids snacks. They had quesadillas today and I swear it looked extra gooey. I had to remind myself that its not good for me. Its been working so far.

At what point does LC get easier? Someone remind me. How long did it take you to get into the "zone"?

For me it's not just one day, snap, easier -- more gradual than that.
I would say I am now in the zone, after starting in late March.
Most days I am in. I've focused so much on staying on plan (not perfect by any means, but no planned cheats for me). I've had to work to rid myself of nasty leg cramps (mostly gone now, big increase in sodium was the solution I discovered here).
I experimented with some of the lovely recipes here, but now I just keep in simple: low carbs from veggies, moderate protein, and enough fat to stave off hunger.
I know now that to continue to lose weight (and I lose slowly), I need to be satisfied with the way I am eating and stick with it through the long term. For now I am happy with my loss and what I am eating. No regrets or cravings or hunger -- at all. I was plateaued for two months, but I just did what others were suggesting -- be patient and stay on plan, only minor tweaks. Now I seem to have moved past my stall (slow weight loss continues), I feel like I am in the zone. I stayed on plan during Thanksgiving and am confident I will be able to do so as well over the upcoming holiday season. And I don't feel like I am missing anything.

Feeling a little down today. Cloudy and getting cooler here. We've had record highs this week. Not losing either.

Hang in there oncloud9now2 .... better days are coming! hugs

I am addicted to the scale, I am struggling with the fear of a stall, but I haven't had one yet. I know it sounds silly!

Shantony, I'm not sure if I know what the "zone" is, but if it is where I currently am.... losing continuously and very driven, then I am there! This for me took about a full 3 to 4 weeks for me to feel completely in control and NOTHING has been able to tempt me, and I hope it stays like this. I no longer allow myself the choices of things I cannot have, and I only buy what I can have. It's weird but I cannot remember the last time that I had this much control. I LOVE IT! I hope this feeling stays and I can someday meet my goal. Good luck to you! hugs

Things didnt go so well for me this weekend. I stayed over my in laws and it just was not conducive to low carb. I did ok but I ate a few things that were high carb. 2 bagels with cream cheese and bacon (not the same day), 2 christmas cookies, 4 pierogies plain, and 1.5 pieces of southern bars (she knows they are my favorite. I asked her to stop making them cuz she knows I like them but to no avail. They call to me at night like a Siren calling to sailors). So no doubt I'm holding water again. I weighed when I got home 2lbs of water on. Back to square one. I am home now and there is no junk here. I just have to make sure I get the carb cravings back under control.

Its amazing how fast they come back after taking their sweet time to go away.

On a positive note I did resist desert last night and french toast breakfast this morning. I had a smidge of self control but not much.

I gotta figure something out for Christmas. Perhaps take my food with me or something.
