Gloria, I'm proud of you. Thankfully, my sister is doing LC too so we are making us several dishes to go with our turkey. We won't be feasting on all the other goodies everyone will be bringing.

Deb, give me pointers on getting my sister to join me. She thinks I'm nuts. I'm hoping if I stick with it and lose a good amount of weight, she just might join me. She wants to lose 75 lbs.

My sis and I had a heart to heart and she knew she needed to lose weight too. She asked her heart specialist what he thought about her going on a LC diet and he said he thought it would be great. That pushed her over the line!

Welcome, Jack, Gloria and Kay. It is great to have new stories to share.

As afr as Tday, I am going to cook some turkey thighs for the meat eaters, some soy tempeh seasoned with sage for the vegans and a few veggie dishes. I am making stuffing with Ezekiel bread which is sprouted grain and although it looks like regular bread, it doesn't have flour in it. Will make a salad, a butternut squash instead of yams, mashed cauliflower/parsnips/carrots instead of mashed potato, broccoli or brussel sprouts medley stir fry, fresh veggies for snacking, corn chips and white bean hummus for those that snack. I am skipping the tofurkey. For dessert, I am making my pumpkin, tofu pudding, some cookies made from soy flour and pumpkin, and maybe some baked fruit crumble dish, no coming eats sugar. My 13 years doing this has rubbed off this year. Everyone has given up sugar. I followed my daughter's step in giving up meat, eggs and dairy. The two men will eat meat so that is why we arecooking turkey thighs. I thought I might get a small shrimp cocktail ring for them too. Will make a fresh fruit cocktail too.

This weekend I am cleaning and making up the beds for my daughter and her BF. It is just the 4 of us. DD is getting A's and B's in her college courses this semester. This is a 180 degree turnaround from the first semester. She had a rough adjustment last spring with her personal issues. But the issues are in the background and she is focusing on her classes, her job and her meetings. She is actually buying small gifts for her nephews and unborn niece. A 35, she is finally growing up. Thank you, God. I am so happy she finally has dreams.

Good morning. I was just too tired to get on the computer last night. I worked till 4:30 and my brain was fried. The owners are leaving today till Wednesday and she didn't really show me everything I need to know. Oh well, I'm going to do the best I can but I get frustrated when I can't do the complete job. Not my fault, this time. lol

jacki!! congrats on the loss so far!

Kay - way to go on 25% of your goal!! that's awesome!

gloria - sounds like you've got a great plan in place! since we have no family gatherings this year we're just going out to eat - i'm not sure if i'll stay on plan for the meal or not,.. i won't be too hard on myself if i don't. it's a holiday after all!

deb - Molly is such a sweetie!!

Mary - way to go on being in the 140's!!

kathy - sorry to hear you've been sick! food poisoning is no fun!!

chewie - i'm sure you'll do great while the boss is gone!

cloud9 - Hi!!!

i've been feeling kind of blah the past couple days, not sure why, just kinda down. probably just the weather! it's cold and rainy/sleety, making it hard to take the dog out for the kind of walk i want to take him on! ugh, and i keep forgetting to get on the dang scale in the morning to see where i'm at. i know what the doctor's scale said a couple weeks ago, but i need something more daily to keep myself on track!

So sorry about Ken's attack.

Christine- Hormones when you're pregnant can make you have all kinds of moods. Maybe it's just that..??

Mary, I'm in awe of how organized and creative you are for Thanksgiving.

Deb, love that pink shirt on the baby. I'm sorry Ken is having a difficult time . I hope you hear from SS soon .

Chewie, do your best at the job and you"II make it through the next few days. They must have confidence that you can do it.

Welcome, Jacki!

I am so relieved the weekend is finally here. I worked quite late the last 2 days to complete a transition to a new Cloud documentation appIication and make it understandable for all the staff to use. I promised myself I would finish it this week and I made it happen! I was really happy when I did! It's not complicated, but I had to spend a lot of time creating a lot of files and there were a few glitches during the week that our IT guy and I had to resolve. I'm not really a computer person but it's turned into a big part of my job the last two years (I 'm a Social worker, but am one of the directors at my agency, so it's all admin stuff). It really does feel good to complete a task!

Kathy

Congrats, Kathy. I know that is a great feeling, when you finish something you dread a bit.

Deb, Is Ken considered a senior citizen yet? Perhaps, if he is, the seniors services in your state could help advocate for you. It is hard to believe there is no one to help. I hope you took a video of Ken's condition so the powers that be can see him at his worst.

Chewie, the owners wouldn't have taken off if they were the least bit hesitant of your abilities to handle things while they were gone. Most likely, you were the angel sent to them and they are thanking their lucky stars for leading you to them.

Christine, hope you are feeling better.

This weekend I am decorating the christmas tree and cleaning house. Need to mail the package for the grandkids and get ready for the Holiday. Busy, busy.

Found out I can't serve shrimp as DD's BF doesn't eat it and my DH would be the only one to eat it. So I will find something else.

Going to be in low thirties and twenty nine tomorrow night. That's COLD for here. My BFF and her DH are coming tomorrow and spend two nights with us. dH and her's are going hunting and she and I will go shopping. I did have to dust and vacuum the whole house though. LOL

What is considered cold in KY and GA? At this time of year, anything in the 40's and 50's is considered good, especially if there's no wind. Usualy, it means no ice and snow, which means I can walk outside even if it's raining.

Deb, is your DH a vet? Possibly a guardian ad-litem could be appointed to get him what he needs. It might not hurt to consult an attorney to help him if his claim for SSI is turned down. Don't let it get you down, keep advocating for him. Do you have insurance? Is he on disability from work?

Breakfast this morning is my favorite. It adds up to nearly 700 cals because of the soynut butter and Tofutti sour cream, tvp and hot fruit melted on top. Looks like dessert. Yummo!
Today is day 17 still on my plant-based food plan. So far so good. I hit a new low of 143.4 lbs this past week. I will have to add in another item come Dec 1st but I don't want to regain weight. I like myself at this range.

Happy Monday Christine! i hope it is a good one for you!

soo what is everyone's plans for this week??
acck! my interwebs were cut off today! my bill had fallen behind the end table in the living room and we were moving it to clean and i found it! due the 10th and with Molly being born i guess i just let it slip my mind
i went and paid it but man oh man! She said they would waive the reconnect fee because i had never had it cut off before but SOMEHOW i have got to get my head back screwed on right.being so overwhelmed so long is driving me crazy. they got it quickly turned back on which really surprised me! the interne t is the only lifeline i have
i haven't gotten a THING done today besides that!
going to switch laundry over and get some supper started
Steven called to make sure i don't forget his pumpkin pie and a cheesecake!
