We found the bouncy zebra at Goodwill for $3.73, bought Baby Eienstein table $38, blue baby's first curl and first tooth ceramic holders at consignment store for $2 and a pair of jeans and a tee for 50 cents each. I'm thinking I might buy some diapers. I know they need those and he'll get toys from everybody else.

those first curl and first tooth things are a great idea! and i will have to see if i can find a tooth timer for when she is older! my boys had one for brushing their teeth and i really think it helped keep the cavities away

Just catching up of all the posts. Woke up at 1:15 am after 4 hrs sleep. Will lrobably stay awake for a couple hours then go back to sleep for a couple more. This is what sleep is like since I stopped taking my sleeping pill last August. I wanted to see how my sleeping habits would change. It happens just on nights when I fall asleep too early. So when I wake up, I don't fight it, just go with the flow and read and come onto my IPad. Eventually I will fall asleep again.

We gave up our cable TV a month ago when they wereworking onour house. Direct TV couldn't find a mutually acceptable place to put the dish back in so I told them to remove it. I have been watching my favorite shows on downloadable apps. We are looking into getting a new HDTV that will have wi-fi so we can use a Roku box (costs $59 - $99) then we can pay $7.99 for Hulu Plus a month. I have Amazon Prime so we get free movies thru them. Netflix would be $7.99 a month. So instead of $82 a month to Direct TV it might be $8-$16 a month. Not bad. Right now, we are reading, talking, walking and I play on the Ipad. I figure when I can't walk, I will crotchet. I want to make a baby blanket for my new grand daughter, Emma Jennie, whi will be arriving at the end of February.

Our house is just about done. They installed the garage doors. I am not crazy about the style of the windows. I would have preferred something different. He is going to put some crossbars in the glass to make it appear as if it is a small glass plan instead of s big swuare glass pane. That is the only thing that bothers me. They didn't ask before they ordered this. I will make sure nothing gets ordered for my new kitchen that I don't approve of, when the time comes.

Hope you have a nice day tomorrow. I am on the late shift so won't be home from work until 9 pm.

i love the idea of making blankets for babies. i'm knitting one for my little guy right now and i have a second pattern for a blanket i am going to start once i finish this one! i need to get some better circular needles though!

i'm struggling with what to get my bf for christmas. i'd love to get him something 'daddy' related but i just don't have any good ideas, and he's no help, when i ask him what he wants he says 'nothing, we'll just save our money'.... no christmas is complete with out at least some presents, even if they aren't over the moon expensive!

still struggling with getting started eating right. i think i finally got all the tempting foods out of the house - or put away where only the bf knows where they are, so i can start eating healthy! and i wish it would warm up! i would take the dog on longer walks if it weren't so COLD! - even bundled up i get freezing! (but i've been cold my whole pregnancy! lol!)

Good Morning Glorious!!I was up one pound today for no good reason!
Wish I could make blankets. They are so pretty and special since they're handmade.

Christine- There are lots of cute Daddy's boy bibs and shirts that aren't expensive. Also, we used fabric markers and made the design of our choice on solid white onesies at one of DIL's showers. They were really precious.

mary if you get the wifi TV you won't need the roku box. so will save you that much too!a roku can be used with the reg tv but since you are getting a wifi tv they usually have internet apps and hulu plus and netflix etc come preloaded and stream right to the tv no extras needed we have a vizio 32 inch with internet apps and love it we don't have cable either just netflix and sometimes can pick up broadcast tv (PBS ABC NBC CBS and METV occasoionally) after jan 1 we will probably have to drop netflix down to just streaming now we have one dvd out at a time and streaming but honetly there have been soo few good movies out lately that unless it is classics or cartoons there really arent many dvds we are that interested in
oh and we have something called web videos on the tv too where we can "fling" you tube videos and watch(it has a youtube app too but the web videos is soo much easier)
and whoohoo on the new granddaughter coming soon!

my grandma taught me how to knit 8 or 9 years ago... all i've ever really made are scarves,.. but what's a baby blanket other than a small squat scarf! LOL! usually i won't knit all summer and then have to reteach myself how to cast my stiches on when i start a project in the fall! thank goodness for videos on the internet! haha!

Hi peeps. Things went much better yesterday cause I told my boss that I needed to sit at the computer and do the work. Watching is ok but you really don't "get it" till you do it. She's pretty controlling but it all worked out. We were both much happier with the day.

Jan--great bargains. I love finding stuff like that for cheap, so fun.

Deb--love the pics and graphics.

Christine--progress not perfection. I'm going to talk to my dh about gifts for Christmas too. He's also very hard to buy for and I prefer to buy my own stuff. He can always get my jewelry===I won't turn that down. LOL
