Ok, it's been a little over 2 months since I quit posting and my family drama still isn't over, but I have to get back on track. I've gained about 5 lbs since it all started.

I'd like to be back to 225 by the end of the month

Nice to see you back Kali! I feel you on the drama. Just gotta take it one day at a time. I keep telling myself that 5 years from now, none of this will matter. 5 lbs is nothing. You'll get it off in no time.

Geez, is October half over already?? Time to pay the mortgage AGAIN. ugh. Time flies when you are in debt!

Admittedly annoyed at this point, but not giving up. I've lost 17 lbs since starting about 25 days ago, so I can't complain yet, just getting nervous that it's not working for me any longer since October has been a total bust.

Bren~ Try and hang in there for a bit...sometimes your body just needs alittle time to catch up. I know it's frustrating when you do everything right and it seems like nothing is happening...trust me I know!!! I'm the one that wants to wake up 50lbs lighter, trust me I get it! I can't remember if you said, how many times have you tried Atkins? I know for me, I'd been on & off it over several years probably 4x total...the last time it worked for a few weeks and then nada.... And no, Oct. hasn't been quite a total bust...YET. You've still lost something so stay positive! Your body could all of a sudden to revv it up the last couple weeks and drop a whole bunch more before the month's through. You're doing so well, hang on!

Yes, THANKFULLY it all worked out! I was sweatin' it for a while there!

No excuses, I ate too many peanuts and I realized it even while I was eating them. Just a bad day yesterday. I must keep my head into this everyday. I'm a little disappointed. Since I fell last Monday night, my knees have been sore. I have not been able to do my walking. I tried but it was too painful. This has really frustrated me. I must stop feeling sorry for myself and try to heal and keep with the low carb. It is amazing how exercising makes me feel so good all day long.

Laura, I can't have V8 juice in the house. I would chug it all down. I am addicted to it.

LauraDavis: Halfway through the 190s already!

DesertGurl: It's great having you back in the mix. Be patient - 243 will be in your rearview mirror soon enough!

Terri B: 4 pounds in two weeks? nice! People forget that there are 52 weeks in the year sometimes. 2 pounds a week is 104 pounds a year. 104 pounds is a lot to lose in a year, especially if you don't have that much to lose - the point is, 4 pounds in 15 days is a lot bigger than it sounds.

So my dear husband has introduced me to pumpkin blossoms. We are currently nurturing a pumpkin patch in the garden, and he showed me how, when and which flowers to snip off the vines. Then after trimming and cleaning, you batter them and fry them up.

bad man. Now I know I can eat flowers.

Z.. . thanks for the shot in the arm. Sometimes I forget why I'm here. I do LOVE coming here every day. This is where I got my start a year and a half ago. It's where I found and kept my motivation and shared it. I still love that about this thread. And even though I've had a stall for nearly a year, This thread is what keeps me accountable!

Happy hump to the hump everyone!

Danielle- I tried low carb once 6 or 7 years ago, if I remember correctly the same thing happened, I stalled early on and threw in the towel after about 6 weeks. I'm still hanging in there. I feel better on this WOE than I do when stuffed with carbs so I'm not having a hard time with that part, I just need to figure out what to tweak to get the scale to budge. My husband is eating the same exact meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner and still losing consistently. The only difference is that I give him bigger portions, since he's 6'3 and I'm 5'4. I'm trying to be patient, but determined to figure this out!

Laura - v8 sounds delicious right now. You're doing great so it can't be too bad for ya!

Sammi - hang in there! Exercise makes me feel better also, I think maybe I'll try to add it in the mornings instead of at night, so I feel better throughout the day. It helps keep me on track also, when I see how hard I have to sweat in order to burn a handful of calories.

Terri - I've never heard of eating pumpkin blossoms - how interesting. Do you grow other things as well? We just moved to a new house on an acre so I'm excited to have a garden next year once we're finally settled in.

Bren~ My hubby did it with me last time too! And yep, he lost quickly and easily eating the same stuff I did only in much bigger amounts.. SO frustrating!!! I felt better doing Atkins too so that's why I stuck with it for so long...but after 6 months and only losing about 12 lbs..I was done. I hope you find a quick fix so you can resume your awesome losses!

Bren, yep, we have a big garden every year. It take a lot of time and toil. My husband is the son of an Illinois corn farmer so he knows a few things. We grow corn (that critters eat more than we do), potatoes, onions, cucumbers, cantelope, watermelon and now we have the pumpkins going! I had never heard of the pumpkin blossoms either, but man!

Hang in there everyone, visiting here daily in itself helps?!!

How do I update my signature to add my journal, or is that only after 25 posts/days?

OK, it's TMI thursday. . . ***warning, warning***

Yeah, so the plumbing issue has been an ongoing one for me for a good couple of years. It seems like once I reached menopause, everything slowed down. THEN, by pouring salt into the wound, I start the low carb WOE. I've found some relief with citrucel, but I still have some issues sometimes! And I refuse to let my body get addicted to laxatives!

Ok, my rant is over. I'm not complaining, just venting. I don't need advise, believe me, I've tried it all. I still wouldn't change a thing about my WOE, and the way I was able to get the weight off!

Happy Thursday!
