I was not "bad" yesterday, but I certainly could have been better. I am approaching one year of being about the same weight. It's a struggle. I hope I cross this bridge without it crumbling underneath me. I hope that I can still continue to inspire people by being real on the struggles we all face at certain times during the weight loss process.

I'm sitting here listening to an argument between the owner and CFO of my company. It's behind closed doors, so I can really hear what they are saying, but I can hear raised voices and emotion. It's kinda like hearing your mom and dad fighting.

Foggy here. Hope it lifts soon! Happy day all!

I was sleuthing around on the net this evening and ran across the Kekwick Diet. It is a HFLC diet. It is pretty much what I have been doing, except that it recommends doing several small meals a day.

The thing that I felt might help move me is that they recommend starting with a week of HF and then adding some low carbs and then after a bit of time, going back to the HF first week. I am going to see how the next week goes and it I can get out of this rut--but failing that, I might try a few days of HF only.

I would appreciate any input that any of you might have.

Found out last week I'll be overseas for three weeks for work, and I fly out Thursday! Thanks to all of you for your insight, inspiration, and dedication that helped me through my first month. The journey is long for me, and I plan to stick to this during my travel. Shouldn't be hard- I am a picky eater, so not to much experimenting during my trip. Just left walmart stocking up on jerky and atkins bars!

Looks like first month results will be about 15lbs lost, no excercising the last few days trying to get ready to leave and fit in family time. Hopefully my signature updates soon so I can link my journal (over 25 posts now).

Good Morning.

I'm a little down, I'm still playing with that **&%*%Q scale to give up
a pound. Yesterday was a really good day--and today I'm up a half pound. I didn't even eat dinner last evening--I wasn't hungry. Had two scrambled eggs with HVC and two small sausage links cut up in them. For lunch I had a large spinach salad with bacon and a few tomato pieces and feta cheese; the dressing was balsamic vinegar with the bacon drippings. Late in the afternoon, I had a coupld of the small Atkins cheese cake cups that I made earlier this week. They are about the size of a silver dollar because I make them in a tiny candy form that can go in the oven. That was it for the day. I drank water--but maybe not enough.

I'm going to keep going, but I would love to be down to 210.0 on November 1!

Laura, thanks for the comment. Kekwick is very similar to Groves--so I'm going to try to add some additional fat today. Maybe I'll make the eggs that I'm going to eat for breakfast with some butter in the pan as well.

just looking at what you ate I would suggest uping the fat intake. If you don't get enough fat this just doesn't work. I slow down in weight loss or gain a little if I'm not watching my fat intake.

Ugh, I really try NOT to get discouraged when the scale doesn't move and I've been a good girl... :P I will admit to not doing ANY physical activity but its been a rough week. I'm putting on my big girl panties and toughing it out! I'm going today and getting a good pair of sneakers and I have my T25 discs out. Does anyone find menu planning to be helpful? I kind of just fix whatever instead of actually having a plan...which I think is not working so well. If so, are there any good menu planner templates that anyone can recommend?

China, welcome I've struggled with weight my entire adult life and have tried soooo many different ways of eating...NONE of which worked long term except cutting those beastly carbs!!!!

When I have a slip and I gain 3lbs in one day (amazing, isn't it???) and I'm sooo down, coming on here and reading really really helps me to get back up again, ya know??

China Doll,
You can always add a bit of olive oil (I prefer light tasting) to those eggs I make a smoothie in the morning and always add flavorless fiber to it and a teaspoon of olive oil. You don't even notice it!

I haven't exercised in a few days and the scale shows it. My knee feels better, so hopefully I can start tomorrow.

China Doll, we have all been there, the scale not moving. Give it time it will move. I had a period where it didn't move for nine days!
