Oc9n2...you are so lucky. I love venison. It is low in fat and good for you too. I like it stewed with peppers, onions, mushrooms & tomato sauce and as kielbasa.

It is relaxing laying here in bed, typing on my iPAD. It is how I fall asleep from a hectic day. Meals are packed for tommorow. Have to work from 11 to 8 pm i get to walk in the park in the morning. I am also planning on making sf cranberry relish. The cranberries just arrived in the stores this week. We love sf cranberry relish (homemade) in smoothies and my TVP with soymilk concoction.

Hope you all have a great day. Weight is holding steady at 147.2

Good morning. I'm going to a skills/typing test at the University of Arkansas at 9 am. I wasn't sure I was going to go because this is for their Temp organization but a few people I know said it's a good way to get a permanent full time position at the college. Since it's so close by and has good benefits, I guess it's worth it.

I got my 40 lbs of chicken and packed it all up last night. UGh. The truck was 35 minutes late so ds15 and I had to just sit in the parking lot and wait. Then I cooked some in the oven. It was excellent. When I bagged it up, I cleaned it and there was only a few ounces of fat and stuff to throw away. Normally, I end up throwing a lot away so it was a great value too.

Well, that was a great interview and testing. It was quite a boost to my ego. I had to take 3 tests: MS Word, MS Excel and a typing test. When the lady got my results and came to discuss them, she said "Wow, you did really well." I type 60 words per minute and am an expert at word and intermediate at excel. I haven't used Excel in a very long time. Plus you couldn't use the help buttons---you needed to know the shortcuts and keyboard commands.

Hi all. Haven't felt very well today. Went with DSis to hair salon but didn't feel like doing lunch or shopping. Came home and went to bed. Slept several hours.
Mary- We love it cooked like that too. Besides the sausage and hamburger he makes, he cuts cube steaks that are delish and roasts that we cook in the crock pot.
Deb- We used to buy the Angel Food boxes too. Will try to help you remember Oct. 28th.
Annett- Hope your mouth is better!
chewie- You are one smart cookie!! Proud of you. You'll be getting a great job soon!!

Oh no, Jan, feel better soon.

We also got the Angel food boxes a few times.

I had to force myself to go to my exercise class. DS, the dogs and I were out sitting in the sun and I was just feeling lazy but I did it. I'm glad too.

Hello Everyone

Whew! yesterday and today was so exhausting. If it weren't already almost 5pm I would go nap!

Thank you everyone for asking about my mouth. Its getting there. I did a post-op recheck yesterday and they said things look good but not to chew anything back there for another week. Start rinsing with chlorihexiderm gluconate rinse on Saturday. That should help too. There is still some swelling but all in all I can tell its getting better.

Chewie- I picked up the chicken last week. Did you get yours? My concern was that that there was ice pieces in the box and this chicken was NOT supposed to be frozen. Also we cooked some up that night - it was tough. I'm not sure if I just got a not-so-good box or what. I emailed the company but no reply. I wasn't impressed. The price was really good at $1.69 for BLSL chicken breast BUT I just wasn't happy with it. I'm going to put some in the slow cooker tomorrow and see how that turns out.

Also Chewie, have you heard of LinkedIn? My instructor just told us about that site. Its basically a job-related website. You can create your profile, your resume, follow companies you are interested in. Its a facebook for the workforce. You can't play game or chat but you can make LOTS of connections for jobs through it. I like it a lot. Like they say.... its not what you know but WHO you know

Deb- That is just AWFUL! I wish there was something I could do to help him feel better. I don't know if you saw before but I asked if recording this somehow on your phone would help the Dr ?? If a pic is worth a thousand words, a video should be worth a million. That way they can SEE him have the episode and the difficulty. I know you're very busy but maybe if you kept a video diary you can show it to the Dr or even email it ???? Just an idea.

Well, I should go figure out dinner and get a jump on the homework.

talk to you all later

>>Annett

Morning. It's so funny but yesterday dh told me he was very happy that I was feeling positive after the computer testing and it made his day. Then he got into an awful mood and stayed that way through this morning. He even complained when he came to bed--the quilt was too heavy, my ds18 came home from work and was cranky, yada yada yada and this was while I was sleeping. He woke me up to complain. Then same this morning. It was terrible. Plus there was a very young stray Burmese cat on our patio trying to get in the house. Yeah, we need another mouth to feed. Unbelievable. His bad mood reflected on my mood and I just feel like getting in my car, driving away and never turning back.

Good Morning Glories!! Scale stayed the same today. DH got another deer yesterday. 3 now!! Didn't get any last year so he is soooo happy. I told him not to go today; we have so much to process and put away. Of course, my whole family will share in the bounty so he'll keep hunting.
Still feel a little yucky today. Unloaded and loaded dishwasher, made the bed and washed DH's hunting clothes.

chewie- Sorry, I know how you feel. I used to tell my family(when all the kids were home) that I was leaving and changing my name. LOL. That never stopped the confusion; they didn't pay me any mind. LOL

Hi everyone, it's been a hectic week.
I work in a financial services company in a call center. I am a senior rep so do some reporting, training, call taking, listening to calls other reps do calls. It has a lot of variety. This week was an IRS deadline even though they were all furloughed, the companies didn't get a break.

But Chewie, I started at this company as a temp. I worked for another company for 30 years, then was laid off/retired at 55 back i 2003, got a package and enjoyed life for a couple years. Then had to find a job. A friend recommended temping. This company I went to first, then a couple crummy jobs. I tested really well on typing and data entry and excel too. After a couple months of that, the first company called me back to work as a temp in the call center. After a week, I was asked if I wanted to work there permanent. I went through the interview process, got finger printed, passed the background check, took some licensing exams, and became a registered rep series 6 and 63, within 7 weeks of the callback, all at the ripe old age of 58. I have received a couple promotions and do love this company. So I highly recommend temping as a way to see if they are the kind of company you would want to work for and for them to see if you fit into their organization. Today I am 65 yrs old and am still going strong. I get to work from home once a week and in bad weather.

hi all yesterday was a long non productive day
tat psychiatrist is worse than useless! ugh kept talking about meth and exploring graveyards and did not do ONE freaking thing to help Ken at least the other lady pretended to be sympathetic this guy was all about his interests and ideas HOW do these people get and KEEP their jobs?? and this is the best we can get for our vets mental health?/ they say suicide is skyrocketing in the veterans and i can see why if this is an example of the "HELP" they get i am soo disheartened and i swear i just have no hope left it seems
his eye exam went ok i guess he has to sent the results back to the VA and see what goes from there the eye doc told them he probably needs to see a retina specialist because his vision problems being a result of the migraines
he was barely able to make it upstairs last night i have taken to walkigng right behind him in case he falls. his right side seems to be staying weaker now

we spent the time in between appointments visiting with Ashley she is excited and nervous as her due date approaches 17 days until Mollykins' ETA

Deb

That is so frustrating. Can you ask for a diff counselor or are you just stuck with whomever they assign? The VA really needs to get their act together. I can only imagine how he feels and its just awful. He needs help. I wish there was a way to get them to listen better. Is there someone - like a supervisor or someone we can write to? I would so sit down and write a letter to tell someone that he needs better care if it would help. I am sure others would too. That way it would be more than just you and he say. I don't know. I am just trying to brainstorm and think of something that might help.

Well, I'm off to do homework. Looks like it will take most of the day today. I took the kids to the library so they had fun there and its sunny out so they can play outside while I do homework. YAY.

Well, catch you later...

Deb -

You are not useless - you are SUPERWOMAN. Look at what you have to deal with on a day-to-day basis. You are so strong and you are doing everything in your power to do what you can. You should be proud for how you keep going, keep pushing regardless of everything. You are amazing.

My mouth is ok. The gums still hurt so I still can't quite chew back there because even the teeth around the extracted ones hurt. But still I can see improvement.

I am failing at LC this week. I had to LC bars today with the intent to stay LC but then lunch came around and I didn't have anything I felt like or wanted so I had some of the popcorn chicken my DD12 cooked up in the over. I skipped the fries...felt bad enough because of the breaded chicken. I have a massive headache now... but despite that I went and started a pot roast on the stove and then put it in the oven. We'll see how that turned out. I guess its that time of year where I'd rather have toast or oatmeal in the AM, warm soup, bread stuffing, etc. I have to re-adjust this and see how I can put this on a LC menu somehow. At the same time my time is so consumed with homework & work that I don't really feel like planning out the whole food thing.

Well I should go. I still have more homework to do.

I'll be back later.......
