Good job on all that exercise! That is one thing that I still haven't put into place yet. For some reason, exercise terrifies me. Could be the fact that I HATE to be hot or to sweat. Look at you go...18lbs is FABULOUS!! Now, remember that feeling and it will help you to stay on track. You can meet that goal no problemo!!! When you can see progress like that, suddenly staying clean doesn't seem so difficult. I know that's how it is for me, anyways. So excited for you!

Brenda~ What type of low carbing will you be doing again? if you said it, I missed it I apologize. There is TONS of info on these boards for pretty much any plan, and if you don't see it, well, just send out an SOS somewhere and someone will ALWAYS have something to say to help. I've done Atkins before, which I adore but it just doesn't work for me anymore. After doing Chris' plan this week I am suspecting that my body just didn't like the heavier fat and calories from Atkins. Try not to think of this as a "diet".. instead you are eating fresh whole foods, nothing more, nothing less. You're essentially eating as the cavemen did Your food sounds really good! Best of luck with all of it, you've got your head in the game!

Sophie, I'm so sorry for your loss ... I totally understand what you're going thru ... I also lost a dear friend of mine last week and then my BFF's mother also passed away this week. We've been friends since high school ... so I'm also mourning over here ... hugs to you, my friend!

You girls are the best. I did miss all of you. But a lot is going on in my life right now. But I'll be checking in as often as I can, maybe not everyday though.

Laura, I love seeing the pictures of your meals ... they look so yummy! Wish you could cook for me!

ok - weigh in today........ still 294 - but I will take it.........down 4 pounds from last Sunday..... did my 50 min of WA..... worked on my legs a lot in the water...... tired now, but still feel good.........

will have to fix something for lunch... did not have breakfast... do not like to eat anything before I do my WA

hope the everyone drops some pounds ..........

Good afternoon ladies, What a gorgeous day here in Tennessee!! Hope this finds everyone in good spirits today! I weighed in at 255 this morning (slow and steady wins the race, right?) I have been experimenting with protein shakes and have one that is thick creamy and I like it! 1c. cold unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 1pkt. strawberry or chocolate yoohoo powder, and 3 tbs. no sugar added protein powder, blend well and let sit for 5 min. and enjoy. 145 calories, 25 g. protein, and 1 g. carbs! Hope someone else will like it too. Have a blessed week. Love you gals. Tammy.

200.0 not too bad as I was out of town and ate at weird times. I did take food with me and he bought taco bell. Gotta love him. Yes I drove 8 hours with construction and went to see my guy. He has to go to Memphis to take his mom to see his grandma before he can head down here and I just couldn't wait any longer. I got no sleep the entire time I was there, just too excited to see him.

When I got home I made the Blueberry Blitzes I was hungry for...after 2 naps

Br3n - the cabbage rolls are induction friendly except for the cornstarch. You can use an induction friendly thickener. I just don't care for the one I tried it made stuff slimy feeling so I just use carb quick or if I don't have any cornstarch. You can have tomatoes on induction just not a lot of them they are higher carb veggie. Also check the label. Did you know stewed tomatoes have sugar or high fructose corn syrup... gross. Sorry just noticed that it's not stewed tomatoes in the cabbage rolls. I'll go grab the link to where the recipe is. I put my menus and recipes in a not used thread.

Hey everyone!

I would like to join this group - even though the month is almost over.

But I'm re-starting the lowcarb lifestyle again tomorrow - for the 1millionth time lol.

I am SO ready to drop this weight and lowcarb has always worked for me, but I just didn't stick with it.

I've been under a lot of stress over the past 9 months and have packed on the pounds, but enough is enough.

I'm going to stick with this to the T until Thanksgiving with hopes of dropping at least 40lbs. by then.

I am not following a specific plan - whenever I simply eliminate the sugar, bread, white flower, and high-starchy veggies (all which are high in carbs) the weight just melts off.

So that will be my focus - along with LOTS of water.

I would LOVE your support... and to support you ladies as well.

My starting weight is: 259.0

By the way, what does "FOS" stand for?

I'm still in the land of the living. I can't weigh because my scales are still packed because of our kitchen remodel and I can't bring myself to search through the millions of boxes. I can't believe I had so much stuff in my tiny kitchen.

I haven't been doing well because I can't cook. I have no appliances except the refrigerator and we have been living on pizza and fast food. I know I could find something low carb or eat the toppings off the pizza so I have no excuse. I'm just so stressed out.

Good morning Ladies!
Sorry I wasn't able to check in yesterday, I have a 14 month old who keeps me pretty busy on the weekends, on top of my weekly chores. Not much time for the internet!

I thought my weight started at 276 on Thursday, but when I officially weighed myself it was 278!! Yikes. It's ok, that was just extra motivation. The good news is that I have been completely on plan (Atkins Induction for now) since Thursday and ALL weekend, which is the hardest time for me. The scale was kind to me and displayed 269 today!!!!! Yay!

I know it will slow down, but it's so nice to see results when we're just getting started and need that extra boost of motivation.

Laura - Thanks for the inspiration, I actually made a "lazy" cabbage roll soup this weekend, just tossed all of my Atkins friendly ingredients into a pot and let it boil away. I decided to use one can of tomatoes and exchange the tomato sauce for broth. So far I'm having fun with the variety of veggies I've been able to use and finding new ways to use them. I have "eggplant boats" and "cauliflower rice" on the menu this week. I'm trying to stay away from too many high fat meats and cheeses and incorporate extra veggies since I think that's where I went wrong last time.

Danielle - I'm on Atkins induction at the moment, as I'm still reading Chris's book. I hope to keep carb cycling in my pocket as a secret weapon to use if/when my current plan runs out of steam. From what I know of it so far, it seems like a great plan to implement long-term, as a lifestyle change, rather than a 'diet' - so I'm excited to eventually try it out.

wow everyone is doing well....... went and did 50 min of my WA.... and when I got on the scale :eek I was down another 2 pounds... to 292... just could not believe it.... so got off the scale and back on.... and yep... 292 so now have to eat really clean this week... to hold that weight.. and maybe if the angels smile on me...... I could lose a couple more pounds..... I know that because I am soooo heavy that my weight will come off a tad faster..... I was stalled for two weeks...... so just want to keep this ball rolling...

did not have breakfast....
L - turkey patty with pepper jack cheese and 1 cup of mixed veggies.... and it filled me up.....
D. think I will have a brat and some more mixed veggies and some cucumber
and will be drinking a lot of water.........

Try not to stress Sophie, I know that's easier said than done but it's only a number and one we all fight with to some extent. You can start concentrating on these numbers when you get back in the right head-place.

Gina, that post of yours was the highlight of my day. I felt your love and concern. Thank you!

I am aching so much, that even the food that I loved so much doesn't do the trick anymore. I eat expecting a comfort feeling or a taste that no longer is there. Then I get disappointed by it and I try to eat something else. But it seems that nothing tastes the way I remember it used to taste before. And for the first time I'm becoming aware that the wrong food only makes matters worse.

It's 1:30 a.m. I'm going to try to get some sleep now. The funeral was today. My BFF who was a sister to me is no longer here ... she was more than family to me.

I'm glad it helped even if only a little

I comfort eat too and can consume an obscene amount of calories on a binge but I don't even seem to enjoy the foods I binge on anymore so I know exactly what you mean!

I hope you managed to get some sleep xxx

sophie - oh sweetie..... I know that this is so hard for you. losing a dear BFF is so hard... I have a BFF that is more like a sister also..... and I know I would be lost without her...... all my love and prayers are going out for you and her family. I know it is hard.... but think about all the great times y'all had together.... get some rest and just take one day at a time....

just remember that we'all are here for you.....

sophie, i'm new to this group, but wanted to say i'm sorry to hear about your loss...

i agree with those who say that "bad" food just doesn't taste the same anymore.

instead of being happy and satisfied, i'm always filled with "guilt" when i'm sitting there stuffed... all for NOTHING.

i've been on track since starting yesterday and have lost -1.8lbs... gotta get that number up!

Brenda~ Look at you go! So far the carb cycling has been fun! I love that I get to have carbs every other day so no deprived feeling.

Doing well, but I'm bracing myself for TOM to rear its ugly head any day now It really bites being a girl sometimes! I despire the bloat and icky tired that lasts for days. Going to power through it and stick to my plan and not dwell. The weather is finally relenting alittle bit and we're at least at low 90's today.. I cannot wait for some decent lower numbers!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone! I know I only dropped so much because I'm just beginning, but hey - I'll take it! As of today, I am still 100% on plan with no significant cravings -- that's a pretty big deal for me. Normally, I'm the person who is digging for "loopholes" at this point, out of desperation for some kind of junk. After browsing some of the new Fall fashions coming out, I'm even more inspired to keep going. I just love Fall, everything is so cute. The sweaters, the boots! I have been feeling so frumpy this past year, being at my highest weight ever after a tough pregnancy, I never feel good about myself no matter what I wear -- but I'm excited to drop some lbs. this season and hopefully squeeze into a few cute outfits. I just hope the summer clothes aren't out by the time it happens.

Laura- Chicken pot pie?? Your posts always make me hungry. I tried the food network "mock mashed potatoes" last night and WOW was I impressed. The texture was amazing, and I don't think I'll miss potatoes at all with that recipe around. Tonight we're having baked cod with green beans, maybe some kale chips as a snack. We're not fish lovers, but I top it with lemon, spices and parmesan which kind of disguises any fishy-ness. Plus, it's something my son can eat. I try to limit the packaged baby foods and make things he can eat with us. Of course, on low carb that's difficult considering he has an egg allergy - I love me some eggs! and mayo.

I hope everyone is doing well this week.

Sophie, I don't know you yet, but I am very sorry to hear of your loss.

Danielle, I'm also worried about TOM!! Mine would be next week, which is horrible timing since that's when induction WL usually slows as well. Maybe I'll just hide my scale until it's safe to peek again!

Pawleys - I'm assuming WA must be water aerobics? I have always wanted to try that! I just love water, but don't think I have the courage to hop into a swimsuit in public just yet. Maybe I will make that one of my rewards after I lose 30lbs. or so.
