I need to go grocery shopping and to the gym today. It will feel good to meet my goals so I have got to follow through.

I lost 10 lbs and gained it all back. I've lost 6 of it again. I'm just not as motivated as I have been. I need a new Low!

Hello, friends!! I am down another 1.5lbs. today!! Yay!! That's 3.5 in two days. I was really ready for some movement on the scales. I had been losing so slowly recently.

LiLi- Take your time! No pressure here. Maybe just to stay on plan or try to increase movement. It doesn't have to be tied to scales at all. Glad you are here!!!

Michele- I too am ready for cooler temps. It's very hot here but I can tell the weather is beginning to change. I am south of Atlanta.

Sammi- Know what you mean about plus clothing. I am older,58, and it's not as hard on me as on younger girls. I do like to be stylish though and it's hard to do from the section I have to shop.

Kim- I love Chinese food too. We went to my great niece's celebration of being Star Student in senior class at Japanese steak house. Didn't eat the rice that was cooked right before my eyes. Tough!!

Mary- Rutabaga squares?! Never heard of it being sold in squares. Making it into a dessert sounds interesting. Do you eat it or was it for DH?

Jazlyn- How old are you if you don't mind me asking? You are so beautiful and are worth getting healthy. You can do this. I have confidence in you. I am 58, and losing is slow. I just had two days of big (to me) losses but generally lose slowly. Two lbs. yesterday and 1.5 lbs, today. I wish I had kept the weight off 9 years ago when I lost 110lbs. I gained it all back plus more. I am committed to keeping it off by staying on the boards this time. I quit posting and was sucked back into my old way of eating. I have so much admiration for Mary. I want to be like her!!

Hi everyone....just checking in for the day. The scales are still just sitting where they were almost a week ago. Hopefully in a few days I will show a good loss.
Jan....you are doing great!!!!!

Hello all,

Rutabaga squares are those little cubes they sell in the frozen veg section of the supermarket. I eat it as a veg with dinner but they taste sweet because of the cinnamon and truvia I sprinkled on them. Not really a dessert but a nice substitute.

I just got back from a walk. Today I will probably only get to 6000 steps because I had an odd work schedule.

Jazlyn- They are beautiful!! You are almost my age, 48, when I started this LC WOE the first time. I wish I had kept it off. You can do it! Please, don't leave the boards like I did. It's amazing what we can do with support.

So I'm thinking that I want to be in a size 16 pant comfortably by Halloween. I recently purchased 16w and they are perfect as the size 18's are a little too baggy.

Hi everyone,

Yesterday was my first day back to work after a week of vacation. I have been experimenting with stopping my sleep med for the last week. I have taken it for over 10 years and noticed over the last few months that I was dozing off at night before taking it, so I figured vacation was a good time to test the waters. So far I have been off it a week and still feel okay. Monday night was the hardest because I was anxious about returning to work. So far so good. At least I am not turning to food for an energy lift late in the day. I am having Green Tea.

Weight is staying the same which is a good thing. I stopped trying to lose about 3 months ago. Officially, only weigh in once a month. Since May scale went down 5 lbs. i have been trying to add more fat into the menu in an attempt to add more calories without changing the quantity. I am sure the scale will stop moving downward this month. There is a certain kick or lift to losing weight, even though I might not want to admit it. But I am only in charge of what I eat and I figure the Big Guy/Gal up above is in charge of the number on the scale. I do my part and what I can control. I don't control the number on the scale.

Have a good day everyone!

Good Morning Girls,

Well I am still at 252. I just walked three miles this morning. I am counting carbs very carefully each day. The scale must move!

Lil I would love to see a size 16. It's been years. Everyone have a great low carb day.

Sounds interesting. I've never noticed them before. I've heard of rutabagas but I don't think I have ever tried them. I'll have to keep my eye open for them.
Is it like a Green Giant brand or what?

I have one size 16 pair of jeans I have kept for years! I just won't get rid of them for some reason. 3 miles is great!! I bet inches will be dropping off even if the scale isn't showing it. Sometimes I think we depend on the scales way to much. We give it way to much control and power over us.

lisa - that is great.....I would love to be in a size 16 - but I am going to make that happen - WTG girl.... proud of ya.....

sammi - great job walking 3 miles.......

tried to eat really clean yesterday... have not gone to do my WA yet.. will go later this afternoon..... that is when I weigh myself.... but my blood sugar was 107 and that is great for me.... when my B/S is low I know that I ate well... and not a lot of carbs.... carbs just kill my B/S numbers...

trying to eat really clean today.....
b - did not really want breakfast kind of foods so had a bowl of my homemade chicken veggie soup and my homemade cheese crackers.
l - had two hot dogs and some cucumbers
D - I think I will make a turkey burger and some mushrooms with some cream cheese wrapped in bacon - and I have about 1/2 cup of cauliflower that I should use up......

WTG LiLi!!! Will be glad to get in 16 pants.

Sue- I have a pair 14 jeans I bought last time I lost weight on my way to 12's. I kept the jeans because they were such a shock in fitting. I was with my friend and she made me try them. It was the first time I really realized I was getting smaller. I can't seem to see myself smaller even when I was. I'll really be happy to wear them some day. I will!!

Paw- Are your crackers micro cheese slices or ...? Wish I had a place to do WA.

Sammi- When my weight stays on a certain number a few days I notice my body changing. It doesn't even look better sometimes but different.

WOE: RNY 11/24/14, low carb
Hi all, just checking in. Have been super busy, and have a job interview tomorrow! I am a little nervous, but am determined to stay on plan. On Friday I am going to NY for a long weekend. I will try to not drink too much wine

Food has been kinda weird today. Breakfast was a cheeseburger with guacamole. Lunch was baked chicken thighs (stopped at Kroger Deli to get them since I didn't pack a lunch), dinner was another cheeseburger with guac, and now I just snacked on salami. ugh. I need a few veggies to balance things out.

I am sure I will be eating salads this weekend while everyone else pigs out on carbage.
I have lost a few pounds, but not going to weigh officially until I get back.

Have a great night everyone.

Oksue, the rutabagas are a store or generic brand. I don't usually buy the named brands unless I have to.

I walked more than 10,000 steps today. Out at lunch and on my 2 breaks then when I got home from work with DH. It is a bit harder to do when I have to work. But it is just one day at a time.

Has antine here read the Primal Blueprint? What do you think of it?

I hit a new low yesterday! I feel lighter!
August was my worst eating month since my re-start, so I am pretty pumped that I will do better in Sept and October, because fewer "events" to throw wrenches in my WOE.
It is a day by day thing, so it helps me to come here for some inspiration and reality check. Be strong and of good cheer everyone!

Hey everyone! Interview went well. Have a 2nd interview next week.

Paw, I love microwaved cheese!
Mary, you are my walking hero. I need to work up to some nice long walks.
Bella, day by day is the key. You can do it.
Oncloud, getting my hair done always makes me look and feel better, therefore I want to eat better.
Lisa, I was down to size 16 pants before I put most of the weight back on. They are waiting for me in my closet! You go girl!

My sort of NSV for the day....the interview clothes I bought 10 days ago are too big. I wore them because I have nothing else. I only wore them for about 2 hours. Maybe should return them.....Now I get to go shopping again for the 2nd interview because the person who interviewed me will be at the next one too (along with several others). Can't wear the same outfit twice!

oncloud -
CRISPY CHEESE CRACKERS

Deluxe American cheese slices (not cheese food or cheese product)

Cut one square of cheese into 16 tiny squares. Arrange on a sheet of parchment paper in somewhat of a ring around the edges of the paper. Don't place the cheese squares too close together or they'll stick to each other. Don't place any in the center of the paper or they will burn before the outer squares are done. Carefully place the sheet of parchment on the tray of a microwave oven. Microwave on HIGH about 65 seconds, or until the crackers are well-browned, but not burnt. Watch closely and add more time if needed. Remove the parchment from microwave and let the crackers cool slightly before removing them from the paper. Peel them off the paper and store in an airtight container. Repeat this process one cheese slice at a time. These will keep quite well in an air-tight container at room temperature for several days or longer.

Each slice of cheese makes 16 crackers
Can be frozen

Per Serving (16 crackers): 106 Calories; 9g Fat; 6g Protein; .5g Carbohydrate; 0g Fiber; .5g Net Carbs

this is from Linda's recipes - I cut a slice of cheese in four squares - so it makes a bigger cracker - I use swiss cheese and pepper jack cheese......I nuke for 60 sec... then maybe another 20 sec -do watch closely... these are soooo good... I miss crackers with my soups and my egg salad - tuna and chicken salad... this is just sooooo easy....
kim - wow your clothes are toooo big... good luck on your 2nd interview....
