well, I went yesterday in the early evening to a "Zumba water aerobics" class...and in the cold lap pool, but it was not bad.. it really was not that much Zumba.... but it was fun... she played fun music - staying alive - the twist - and YMCA for a few songs.... gosh the seven of us had a ball... and we worked hard...... smiled and laughed alot.. and I had done my 1 hr of WA at 7am that morning... so when I got home at 7pm... whew I was tired.. had a bowl of soup... sat down in my chair and fell asleep so got up and went to bed at 8:45pm... way early for me... and

then got up this morning at 6:15am and went and did 50 min of WA.... was a tad sore.. but a good sore... so I am going to continue her class.... I normally do my WA on my own, but taking a class is so much fun.....

tomorrow I will go with my sister at 7am and do WA, then drop her home and then come back at 9am and do the Zumba class again...... whew.... if this doesn't help get my weight off... I do not know what will

Thanks, Diana. We have been blessed with beautiful weather these last few weeks and thankfully, it seems to be continuing for the time being.

So yesterday,I barely got in my 10,000 steps for the day. Woke up a few times during the night as a result if drinking diet pepsi. It definitely affects my sleep cycle. Once we are through our busy time next week, i am done with it, and will go back to water and herbal teas. I love the new herbal teas made by Bigelow with mango and peach and blueberry flavorinhs.

The work started this week on our house. The exterior is being redone. New everythinqg, you name it, it is being redone. It will look like a new house when we are done. Then we start on the inside. In the long run, we figured it was less expensive than moving and we love our neighbors, have been here for 30 years.

If you were to redesign your dream kitchen, what top 3 things would you like to see in it? I am starting my wish list for it. When they replace the window in the kitchen, I am getting a garden window where I can put my plants and possibly herbs. We will eventually go visit kitchen places and have them come in and give us some ideas but figure it can't hurt to ask other folks. Maybe I'll hear something that appeals to me.

So far, I think I want the drawers that close themselves and new appliances. Is stainless steel worth it. Or is white the new "in" color? We have white now. Because the kitchen is in the back and it tends to be darker. I am thinking of a lighter-colored wood. Please share your ideas.

starr - great news... I know that you will enjoy it...

mary - great on your waling again.... and when I drink diet soda... I also visit the bathroom more often.....

so this morning at 7am my sister and I went and did 40 min of WA... then I drove her home... stopped at my home... let my fur-child outside... and took my suit off and used the bathroom dried the suit quickly in the dryer.. put it back on and went and did the Zumba WA class... had a great time.... now really tired.... but feel good.....

made some more chicken/veggie soup..... and I should clean up my home..... so we will see......

going through my master closet and taking everything out...and tossing a lot... and trying on a lot... since I went down one dress size... finding tops that I have not wore in forever...I tend to be a saver... you know I might use that someday - or I will get down to that size - or my favorite (I love anything paper) books, magazine articles etc... so going to really start decluttering... and that should burn some calories and take my mind off eating

hope everyone has a great week-end.. love ya all

Saturday, 12,500 steps, a little hiking, shopping, napping and resting.

I have a friend I call every night and committ my food to for tomorrow. It forces me to sit down and plan my meals for tomorrow, to make sure I have what I need or to be able to use up leftovers. I hate throwing food away.

Something funny happened at work this week. It was Client Services Week and the management treated everyone to different things each day including some games. I don't eat lots of what they offered because it is usually carb rich, but on Thursday the had fresh fruit and raw veggies with dips. After lunch, I went into the room with my salad bowl, and started putting some sticks of veggies into my bowl. The Admin Aide was standing there along with some of my co workers. She had the gall to make a comment out loud "Mary, be sure to leave some for everyone else" and she wasn't joking. She has some control issues and we have noticed it before, but it got my dander up. I said I would bet you money that I can come back in 2 hours and there will still be 1/2 tray of veggies. But she made me feel uncomfortable. I went back at 3:30 to take some of the fruit and she wasn't there but on my second trip, she shows up and makes another comment about the fruit. It is now the joke of the office. When she sends out an invite to come and get some sort of treat, people say, but be careful not to take too much. Friday night I was leaving around 6:30 pm, there were two huge trays of ravioli hardly touched and a huge tray of salad in a container. So I took the salad home with me. It would last me all weekend. Otherwise, they would have just thrown it out.

Anyway, I stayed on my plan and have all the fresh veggies at home to enjoy this weekend. They had all kinds of sweet treats Friday afternoon but I didn't even go into the room. No sense in viewing the temptation. Staying on my plan each day is more important than any other action I take.

Mary- People can be so rude! I suppose she had nothing to say about you taking NOTHING on the sweets days..Oh well, you did what was right for you and that's all that matters!!
I was back at my lowest weight since my leaving off my meds Thursday and being up a couple pounds. I've been cleaning and decluttering also, Paw. I've been a little sore from using muscles I haven't used in a while.

Hi All,

Mary people can be rude. They don't realize how insensitive and hurtful they can be with their words. They think it's a joke. You are doing fantastic!

Starr I hope you like the walking dvd. Leslie just puts me in such a good and positive mood.

Have a good Monday.

had a bad day yesterday... just out of sorts... and ate... but back on track today.. had my regular breakfast and then for lunch had my homemade chicken/veggie soup with homemade cheese crackers... do not know what I will have this evening.. one thing I know that I have to stop eating before 7pm - for if I eat after that... trying really hard not to want to eat right now ... have a problem with wanting to eat at night..... so I just went in and brushed my teeth.... do not like to mess up my clean mouth... I try to do anything I can to not eat at dark....... sometimes I make myself a nice hot cup of tea......

this is just so hard........ skinny people just do not know how hard it is.....

I am hoping to do a kitchen remodel. I want a wall oven that I don't have to bend over to put stuff in and pull it out. I'd like a working microwave, repositioned so it's not so high. And I'd like to have all my spices within easy reach. I am looking for functionality. I have a small kitchen, so space needs to be rethought. Beyond that I want a new floor.

Thanks, Bella. Good ideas.

I think I want a drawer or bin for trash and one for recyclables built in too. I hate having it against a wall.

It's been a long day!
Congrats! OC9 N2 on your loss! Every pound is a reason to celebrate.

One of my goals was to keep walking and to try to average at least 10,000 steps a day. Today was midpoint in the month. 16 days gone and 15 days to go. So far this month, I have walked 172,500 steps or 69 miles, so I am more than half way there. My weight is about the same. It was 147.2 one day during the week.

Has anyone here dabbled with vegetarianism and low carb?

Good Morning Everyone,

This is a hard month for me on the scale. I must keep focused everyday.

Michele, hi, glad to hear from you. You sound very busy. I love craft shows. What do you make?

Jan the soup sounds wonderful. Maybe Diana could give us the recipe?

Mary ,before you lost your weight, were your knees sore and are they back to normal now?

Have a great day!

Sammi, before I stopped eating sugars, grains and alcohol, my knees, joints etc ached all over. It was like an allergic reaction where I instantly retain fluid causing the pain. Within 3 weeks I felt better.

My knees feel pretty good. I am careful about falling because as soon as I get complacent outside, i will fall. I don't want to break anything. But my doctor said she can twll I am a walker because I have a good strong heart.

Hi everyone!
My computer isn't working and my husband took his laptop on a business trip so I haven't been able to post. I'm at my mom's right now.

The contractor doing my kitchen is done! Now all we have to do is paint and tile the floor. I am going to start unpacking boxes and will hopefully find my scale.

I've been doing WA but not so well on the eating. It's hard to cook without a kitchen. I know I could have been doing better but I'm partly blaming the stress.

Hi guys! It's nice to be back! So I went to the kidney specialist and he said they are great! No problems at all! Praise The Lord!
So I went off low carb and was trying out ww these last two weeks. Going back to atkins tomorrow! I was hungry, craved everything and anything, felt horrible during my workouts and thought about what I would eat for breakfast then think about lunch and dinner and snacks...all before my day even started! LC fits my mentality and life I need to get goin tho...I'm just under 290 lbs and feel so depressed.
