So I finished painting the bathroom. I am so sore that it's hard to even move. It looks awesome. I'm very happy with it. I had to take a second shower cause I was sweating so much it was dripping off my nose. LOL

This year has been a year of maintenance with the food and I started walking more. Last June I started writing in my food log, the number of steps I walked each day. I would get to about 8,000 steps a day on average each month. I wanted to get to 10,000 steps a day. This is a woman who could not get off the couch without help in 2001 when I weighed 376 lbs. So today, the sirens were blowing and the bombs were bursting in my head as I came home from work and walk down to the end of my street and back so that I could go over the 1,000,000 th step since June 1st. That is over 400 miles. Quite an accomplishment for a 65 year old! I had my bp checked a week ago when I went to give blood and it was 104/70. The walking and the good gs proteins, fruit and vegetables with the love and support of a loving God, wonderful husband and great friends both here and in my general life contributed to making this a possibility. One day at a time. NMW. A&G&C. Odd thing is my maiden name is Walker yet I have never been one until this year.

Praying for you all, for your families and friends, for the highest healing good.

Good morning. We got lots of rain overnight and it's cooling off. Yahoo!!! My quadriceps feel like I did about 1000 squats. Wow, didn't realize painting is such hard work although did while I was doing it.

So today will be errands, making the next week's meal plan and misc stuff. What are you all doing this last Friday of summer?

I'm back. I went to Sam's for marked down meat---not much but I did get some chicken thighs and 2 whole giant chickens. Then headed up north, stopped at the consignment store I had taken some clothes to in the summer. I got $16 and change and spent $13 so I made $3. LOL I bought a bunch of summer stuff for next year. Most of it was only $1 each so how can you pass up a nice summer dress, a bathing suit cover up, 2 pairs of jeans and a few other things. Then on to the Tyson sale. I got thick sliced bacon, 10 lbs for $22 and 10 lbs of chicken tenders for $12. It was mobbed and all the carriages were taken so I only bought what I could carry and left. LOL

Chewie- DH is cleaning the front porch for me. Sweet. Then we can get started with some Fall decorations. I put the cornucopia on the dining room table. I have some small sparkly pumpkins and a few other things plus a wreath for the door and that's really all I have. In the past we have put out pumpkins scarecrows and hay bales but don't have extra money right now. Maybe a little later.

Hello All

Sorry I haven't been here much in the last few weeks. My head has been spinning.
Things have been very busy and I haven't been feeling all that great.

I think I am going to have a Dr check me out for ADD like the counselor suggested. I am finding it harder and harder for focus on things I have to do..... and easier and easier to ignore life and watch TV or play my game. When I try to do things I am supposed to its like there is a Ping-Pong ball in my head bouncing from one thing to the next then to the next and I can't concentrate on anything and I get s worked up that I have to walk away and watch TV or play my game to get my brain to stop being all over the place.
Initially I thought this was due to him leaving us and I thought I got control back for a little bit there but the last 2 weeks have been ridiculous. I'm no sure where to go yet as I have vitually no money ...but we'll see.

I am a little afraid for class in 10 days.... if my brain keeps bouncing around all these things I won't be able to focus.

Well, I hope everyone is doing ok. I will admit I have not yet read the rest of the posts. I started to but I couldn't focus. I think this has been going on longer than I thought. When I was a kid I used to be able to read for hours but once in my teens, I could barely focus on a magazine article and to this day I can not sit down and read textbooks - I cant focus on it. Its a bunch of words in clusters. I can pick keywords but I can not read the whole paragraph or page.

Well, I have to go pick up my daughter from school. I am still here...still trying to lose weight with LC but still stalled... I've been losing the same 5lb over and over.

Anyway... I'll be back later.... I hope everyone is well.

So glad to have you back, Annett! Sorry about the way you're feeling. There should be a clinic or something around you that would see you for free or very cheaply. Your counselor should be able to connect you.

thank you.

I did contact Love Inc - the place that helped me before. They can issue a voucher for care through George Fox's Behavioral Clinic but its going to be a couple weeks.
On the bright side... a couple weeks is a lot shorter than the 18 month wait list the local health clinic had.

I think I am just going to focus on forward from here. I don't like this feeling of not being able to focus

I find myself setting timers and reminders for a lot of things just to try to get them done.

Well, I am off to try to clean the kitchen and make dinner.

DH made a low carb Broccoli Quiche today. It was very good! I was going to eat a piece with roasted chicken for dinner but it was so good that I ate 2 pieces and no chicken.
Broccoli Quiche
10 oz. frozen chopped broccoli(we used fresh), cooked and well drained
2 oz. onion, chopped, abt. 1/3 cup
6 eggs
1 cup heavy cream
1 teas. salt
dash pepper

Spray a large glass pie plate. Put broccoli, onion and cheese in bottom. Beat the eggs, whisk in cream salt and pepper. Pour evenly over pie plate mixture. Bake at 350 degrees about 35 to 45 min. or till knife inserted in the middle comes out clean. Let set 10 min. before cutting. Can be frozen.
Makes 6 servings. Per serving: 379 cal., 32g fat, 18g protein, 5g carbohydrates, 2g fiber, net carbs=3g

That broccoli quiche sounds delish!!!!

I made a broccoli tuna bake the other day. I saw a box of Tuna Broccoli Helper and thought... broccoli and tuna? Hmmm So I took a bag of broccoli, a can of tuna and 1/2 of a jar of alfredo sauce... added a little garlic and baked it off... no pasta in sight. It was delicious...

Deb.... sooo sorry to see that he is still not getting the help he really needs. I will keep praying for you.

Well my friends.... I have been setting a reminder for me to come here as a helping tool. I may not be able to everytime it goes off but I will when possible.

Anyone see SleepyHollow? I realize I'm behind now but just watched it last night and I thought it was great.

My DD12 is starting Girl Scouts again - I found a much better organized troop. Any nut/chocolate and magazine sales start Sat. I guess they are offering online sales too so I have to see how to set up her portal in case some relatives want to order online.
