Good morning.

I got up at 5. Dh had to get up at 4 to be at work for 5. He'll be working 13 hours today, maybe more. Poor guy.

I already have my kitchen cleaned, bills organized, all paperwork organized, pork carnita roasts in the crockpot(smells like garlic in here), and made my list for today. I want to get everything done so dh doesn't have to worry about it. I'm called MIL to come for lunch tomorrow so we can get them gone and relax in the later afternoon.

when i get back from mowing and take a shower i have to hit that kitchen hot and heavy to get things started on the cake(and i HATE cleaning and am terrible at it)
i have a different fridge now than the last time i made such a big cake and eek while this fancy one is supposed to be bigger it doesn't seem that way to me and i will have to clean it out A LOT to chill the cake like i will need to TERRIFIED i will mess this up!
going to be a sheet cake with the belly cake on top i am not such a great fan of belly cakes but that is what she wanted OH and eek i gotta get some wrapping paper i was so worried about finishing the quilt i FORGOT about wrapping it! eek!! any suggestions on how to make sure the diaper cake doesn't move around in a gift box??

geeze i think i need a giant caffeine pill!!

Deb--great job, that quilt is beautiful and I'm sure will be very cherished. I would use newspaper in the box for the diaper cake--just crumple it up and use it to hold it in the box.

Mary Jacobs

And I'm back, 2 hours later. I made shrimp dip, a pan of sausage balls, fresh lime marinade for steak fajitas--cut up the meat for it too, made brine for some pork chops, cut up the whole pork loin into 3 meals---2 roasts and 1 dinner of thick chops. Bagged and froze all but the chops. I also got one of my crockpots full of onions caramelizing for soup which I'll make on Monday. The other crockpot has 2 pork roasts in it for tomorrow. I finished my meal plan and got out the meats I will need for the next few days. I also did a ton of dishes that ds brought down. And it's only 10:30. I'm already getting tired.

Absolutely beautiful quilt!! I hope they appreciate such a heart felt and time consuming gift!! I think newspaper crumpled and pressed around the cake should hold it too. BTW- DDI texted me about 1:00 and asked if we were coming this weekend. I sent back YES, whenever was convenient for them. So, tomorrow I get to see my little Fox about "1:00 ish" I was told. Yay!! Really want to see him. 8 weeks tomorrow since last visit.

We went to pick up DD's van today. Lift quit AGAIN and it was $91 this time. Still, better than expected. Switch was broken they said. I then went to Sam's and got her a new cell. It was past time for an update and it started turning itself on and off. Got her one that I hope she'll be able to use.

Hello Everyone

I just wanted to check in. It looks like I have a few days of reading to catch up.
I still have this darn cold - but it is getting better. Now if I could just get rid of this headache. Our weather is having some extreme changes...one day its in the 90s and the next not even to the 70s -- its been fluctuating all week and I've had a headache all week.

Its cleaning day. Although I'd rather take a nap - I am going to clean something.

A co-worker gave me her old IPod Touch for my daughter for free. Its actually a 4th generation so its not that old. I feel like I should give her something for it later at the end of the month when I have more $.

College is giving me a headache. When I signed up for the degree program and attended orientation they said we would need to be on campus a max of 2 days. Well not true. If I want to take ALL classes I am looking at 5 days per week. Impossible.
So I'm going to see if I can get away with 3 days of school, 2 full days of work and 2 half-days. Its kind of stupid and I will probably triple my gas cost this term because school is an hour away but they won't let me stay in the program if I don't take these classes .......so it looks like I will be VERY busy soon.

Well my friends... I hope everything is well with you. I am going to make some lunch, and in a little bit after I do some cleaning, I will come back to catch up on some reading here.

Catch yall later....

soo flylady is starting the holiday prep this week! eek this week's missions are in the bathroom and this is part of the mission

ZONE SUPER FLING BOOGIE!
We are getting ready for the holidays a little bit early this year.
We are going to have a weekly Super Fling Boogie for the Zone we are
in starting this week. This week we are in Zone 3 - The Main Bathroom
and another room - this week we are going to go into the children's rooms!
If you do not have children living at home - choose another room and do the
same missions. Adapt them to fit that room - You can do this!!

It is time to fling, fling, fling!! We are going to do a Super Fling Boogie in
every zone starting this week thru the end of October. Batten down the
hatches there are going to be a lot of emails and a bunch of challenges to
keep us flinging the clutter right out the door!!

We are going to declutter to prepare for our Cruise through the
Holidays!

No, I logged in with that name a week or so ago because I was having a bout of depression over the stalling of my weight loss. The last thing I said to dh before finding this group was that "I hate being low carb" LOL so I thought the name was fitting. I should probably change it before too many people get to know me by it actually.

I have lost a good chunk of weight on Atkins, but I still have ALOT more to drop. We dont eat beef, I am not happy with most chicken, so I have a rather restricted diet plan. When I don't see the scale move, I get nervous because even though I lost 100 or so lbs the first time around on this diet years ago, I worried that in life we only get one chance at this, and I used mine up. The last time I went low carb I ate beef and chicken, but because I want this to be a lifestyle choice instead of a diet that I will gain on the second I stop, I decided to be true to my own likes and just eat what I am happy eating when it comes to protein. Looking for a vast bunch of ideas on cooking seafood, pork, eggs as well!
