I recently realized that next Sunday will be my one year low carb anniversary. I'd really like to get down to 217 by then...that would be 60 lbs gone, so I'm going to spend some time on the treadmill this week and TRY to not drink any alcohol or diet soda...we'll see how long that lasts.

Had a great weekend! I didn't overeat, obvio, but I didn't really cut my throat either. The fact that I was outdoors almost the entire weekend with 95+ temps helped. As I was reeling in my garden hose so I could mow, I realized that "this is a better workout than any gym right now"! Also had my own private tanning session. All this, free of charge in my back yard! I can dig it!

Z. . . good to see you back, man!

Kali, If you can do that, more power to you! I have to have at least one diet soda a day! And sometimes, the Alcohol will keep the boredom munchies at bay! Congrats on the one year!

Lauren! You've done so well! that water weight will be gone before you know it!

Whew! Monday!

Good to see all reporting in Zay Z keep strong. You have come a long way.
Kali best wishes making your goal. LauraD drink water it helps to flush out excess water.
Terri LOL you crack me up always. Yes home is sometimes the better place for a workout.

My skinny friend came over again this time with kid and grand kid in tow. We swam and had a cookout.
She bought a small pork loin and salad. Sparkling water and diet tea. Any mention of daiquiris or high carbs would result in me tearing her a new one. She knew it too

For the weight I fought 225.5 all weekend saw 227 once damn near fainted. But this morning my friends 223.5
6/24 223.5
6/21-6/23 225.5 (swam for hours rode bike chased kid cleaning)

I limited myself to one 12 oz can of Diet Pepsi and only about 1 1/2 of my usual 2-3 alcoholic beverages last night (I'm not a lush, I promise) then switched to water. I may have to cut/shave my head to reach my June goal.

I'll take it. especially since yesterday at lunchtime, I had a little "extra" snack after my meal. I hit the "poo-poo" candy that is normally reserved for my grandsons. MAN, those bite sized twix & milky ways are GOOD!!

Kali . I'm not a lush either. but I DO believe in medicinal alcohol!

Z. . . a whoosh is a whoosh is a whoosh.

Laurie, good luck with the water pills!

Last night it was more therapeutic than medicinal. My niece's baby daddy had me so mad last night I wanted to drive over to his mommy's house and punch him in the face...actually I wanted to punch him somewhere else to prevent him from impregnating anyone else (especially my niece). I wasn't real happy with my niece for putting up with his $@!% either, but that's a whole other story. A nice strong drink, a dip in the pool, and snuggle time with "my" (aka my niece's) baby, and all was right with the world...for now.

6/25 224 up .5 lbs hey I wanted something crunchy to munch. Had a bag of popcorn. So that's that. I can't eat $h!*t!

Hey I am not a lush either. But I like a glass of vino in the evening. It helps with life bullcrap. I too am having issues withmy brother's child that she sprung on me last week...I'll leave it at that but alcohol was needed. Kids are so sweet but they grow up then you have to deal with their stuff.

But it's our job. Sigh.

Another remedy for water retention- baths with Epsom salt good for relaxing. Removes dead skin. Relieves sore muscles and get rid of extra water containing surface fat solubles. So try it. Age old remedy and it is inexpensive too. (It also help giving offerings to the porcelain goddess ).

Hugs everyone.

I was not going to weigh until July 1 but decided that I needed to be real and face the damage of eating hog wild for two weeks. I am ashamed of the gain of 12.4 lbs, but it is the reality of my overeating. This gain has wiped out two months of loss for me and is a reality check on how easily I can gain and seemingly not care if I am not vigilant with weighing and tracking my food daily. I don't think it is much water weight either. I am going to be working very hard to drop back down.

Yup, it is a hard thing to wrap my head around the hard reality of it.

Laura- I hope the water pills work their magic for you.

((((((GROUP HUG))))))))

Frankie, so glad to see you!

You know what? I think we are like the stock market. We can go gangbusters for so long and do so well, but every so often, we have to expect an "adjustment". Seems we've all hit our "adjustments" at about the same time.

Cheers to all of us staying here and not leaving permanently!! Love you guys!

Now, I'm gonna go drink some medicine.

Nice whoosh, Laura! I thought I had one this morning, my first weigh in this morning was 318.7...then I realized the Wii board was off balance . Welcome back Frankie! I know I gained a bunch when I went hog wild on vacation last year. It took a long time to recover, but I did it, and so will you.

I still struggled a bit yesterday with eating too many carbs and wanting to eat more food than I required, but I did better than the preceding days and I'll do better today. There was a little water weight to drop after all.

Laura- I take a water pill and forgot to take it last night too. With eating poorly I also was not very regular with taking medications and vitamines. When I am good I am good and when I am bad it is across the board.

Kali- I never thought of using my wii fit board for weighing. I might also want to think of using it for exercise once in a while too,,,lol!

Belly- Popcorn is one thing I do allow in my plan when I have enough carbs eft in my day. I do have to watch it though, if I don't portion it I can eat a lot of it without thinking.

Terri- Boredom really is as bad as stress. Combine the two and it is lethal to my plan. I forgot to mention how much I like your new avatar. You look so fit and healthy!

Well, I was on plan maybe 60% of the time while on vacation... it was the margarita's and evening snacks that did me in though I think Oh well, I was on vacation. Hoping it comes off quickly so I can get back on track.

Sorry to hear I wasn't the only one having a hard time staying on plan recently. We can do this! I very much appreciate having you all to report to every day, it really helps.

Well as you can see it has been quite the battle since I started back posting.
So far I have only lost 6lbs. Lots of yoyo-ing going on. I had such high hopes. At least 10 lbs I wanted to be gone by now. But counting May when I decided to take back charge I have lost 16 lbs and about 2 inches from arms and belly region. So it will do. However, I wanted to advance my weight lost tracker 10lbs but I am shy 4lbs.

Frankie I know you can relate. We must be diligent watching and keep abreast of what we are eating. Terri, the warrior, keep going, this weight leaves when it is ready just stay on target girl.

LauraD - I too am sensitive to sodium and suffered High BP. I am off the meds now thankfully. Yes the water pills helps - I noticed I lost "weight" easily or easier. But really I tend to retain water from sodium that interferes with the BP. Try some water pills that are herbal they work with sodium to regulate the body's water balance if you cannot get the prescribed water pills anymore just check with your physician on the brand. You can buy them at Walgreen or places like that. Make sure they contain only herbal supplements.

Z I see you kept your whoosh! Time to get excited now. let it rip
Reptogirl is that a whoosh for you.

Taking a page from Terri let's all hang in there. Keep it strong. Together we can do it!!! And you know that! ( closest thing to a fist bump)

Yes. I agree. My plan allows 3 carbs food items ( fruit or grain/legumes) of 15 grams. Each item must not go over 20 grams. They must contain fiber the more the better. My body cannot use carbs efficiently-either the carbs are used first and everything else gets stored into my fat pouch or the carbs turn into fat and get stored. Following atkins/SB I cannot tolerate over 50 grams of carbs in order to keep losing weight. So it starts in the morning I have to watch them. To make sure I can snack in the evening.

It'll be another few days before ketosis kicks in and I can start losing weight a bit more steadily.
