No weigh in today. I was on plan yesterday with the exception of 1/8 of a pecan pie. We had friends over for supper and we had grilled steak, yellow squash/zucchini casserole and Asian cole slaw. She brought the pie; how could I resist LOL. Back on plan today. But, on a great note, I feel thinner. Yea.

Cindy, great job on your progress report. I hope you like the stepper.

Michele, I checked the Jawbone UP. I thought it was going to be a piece of exercise equipment LOL. I'm not interested in those tracking devices. Primarily because in my line of work, bracelets are off limits at times.

3 1/2 weeks until July 4th. I haven't much movement on the scale, but I have definately noticed the difference in my clothes. I can get into my size 16 jeans (my goal size), but they aren't comfortable yet. Still hoping to get there!

I am still with you all. Haven't reached my goals yet, but it's going to happen.
I did survive a 5 day out of town workshop without deviating much from my WOE, so I am pleased about that. It's a LOT easier for me at home!

I'm trying a new mantra as I go about each day: "Will this choice help me reach my goals?"

Hopefully the answer will be "yes" most of the time, but if it's "no," at least I will be making that choice with full knowledge and awareness that it will NOT help my goals.

We'll see if it helps. For instance, today I have eaten my day's calories already, and it's only 5:30. That means I'm not having dinner, and if I feel like I "need" to eat later tonight, I will ask myself, "Will eating now help me reach my weight loss goals?" The answer is NO, so I will just drink water instead.

And by the way, I'm not even remotely hungry right now, but I know myself and I will think I "need" to eat, just because it's dinner time. So I need a lot of checks and balances to save me from myself.

Vilya, the other one I use is "There is another meal coming in 4-5 hrs or breakfast". So I can remind myself I won't starve if I don't eat right then.

I find it is like teaching myself a little self discipline or delayed gratification. Our society is so into the "I wants" and "I want it right now" that we forget it is sometimes good to delay it.

Good morning everyone! Getting ready to head to my son's tomorrow for a few days....I sure hope I can manage to eat wisely and not gain a bunch....riding in a car for 10 hrs there and 10 hrs back isn't going to be a good thing! I have a bunch of LC snacks ready to go I tend to not drink much while traveling because there are long stretches of nothingness on our route and I don't squat in the bushes anywhere! Lmao.

Have a great day!

Just checking in, staying on plan. Frustrated with the numbers on the scale. I weighed 249.8 but when I stepped off and reweighed I was 246.6. Which # to go by?? The second number is more realistic to the WW scale the nurse used on Friday.

Hi everyone Just checking in. I'm 1 lb away from being in the 260's which was my goal for July 4th, so yay for that! I'm off on another weeks vacation on Saturday but this one is less stressful than our one in May. We won't be staying with anyone this time and no planes I'm hoping that I don't get too tempted by the holiday treats the kids will invariably have, otherwise I'm very much looking forward to it.

Hi Everyone! I am still here trudging along. I have met one of my goals, and my wardrobe is officially toooo big!! I am also below 250! I am at 248! Now, if I could only exercise consistently!!!! I am losing slowly, but I thank God I am losing!!! I hoped to be a size 20 by July 4th, but it takes so long between sizes for me now. I am currently a size 22-24 down from a 28-26 so I am happy with that as long as I keep trending downward!!!

Going to really buckle down and exercise this month!!!!

Did 2.5 miles walk today. Pedometer said I burned about 230 calories, but it's probably more because I'm heavier than the weight that's calculated from.

Right now we are sitting in the airport waiting for thenflight to DC. I haven't been on a plane in 2 yrs and am a bit nervous. I panicked while in the security line, thouht I keft my drivers license home. Ater getting out of line, I found it in my coat pocket (not where I usually put it. Whew!

Hope the weather holds out. Hard there is a storm headed to DC. Say a prayer.

I ate breakfast at 5 am and packed my lunch. I brought bags of carrots, little cukes and grape tomatoes. Also brought weighed out packages of soynuts, soycheese and wheat germ. Normally I only eat wheat germ in an emergency. If I can't get cooked veggies, I can use it instead. Can make it into a cookie and slush. Brought my kitchen scale in case we go out to lunch or breakfast. I will miss my greek yogurt as it is my supper protein. Love, love, love it. Maybe I can get some at a supermarket when we get there.

Shannon - You can stay on plan on vacation, congrats to being close to a new number range.

LadyN - Sounds like you are doing great; keep posting.

Vilya - 2.5 miles is awesome. I walked this morning with DH and we did an hour. That is the longest I've been walking in a long, long time. I used to walk 3.5 miles in an hour a few years ago and am slowly building back up.

Mary - You have a plan to stay on plan. I hate flying and all that goes with it. I see from another posting that you weigh and measure; I couldn't drag along a scale, too obsessive. I am glad it works for you.

I realized this morning that I am slowly getting my esteem mojo back. I typically wear make up anyways but I started using a different mascara that brings out the lashes more, applied liner and eye shadow; wearing earrings; stopped biting nails several weeks ago and painted my nails yesterday. I feel pretty Blush

When it comes to veggies, I don't count the carbs. I don't eat potatoes, corn or peas and some only eat 1/2 cp like pumpkin, winter squash, beets or onion, but the rest I weigh an 8 oz salad at lunch and 16 oz at supper. I mix romaine kettuce, the small persian (with peel), cukes, grape tomatoes, carrots, broccoli crowns, summer squash, zucchini, purple onion, homemade salsa, red pepper, all the colors of the rainbow to come up with 16 oz. it is a feast. When all is said and done, at the end of the day, I eat about 95-100 carbs of which 25-30 are fiber. It includes the fruit I have with my breakfast protein.

Today we flew to DC to see son graduate from college with Master's Degree and 4 little grand sons 6 and under. I am pooped. I fell just as we started walking, tripped over one of the boys and fell on both knees, left hand and right elbow. Black and blue but no scrapes or broken bones, thanks be to God. Bought some icy rub and ibuprofen for the pain and inflamation. I smell like wintergreen. Tomorrow we are going to the Lincoln Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery and more. They have it planned.

I ate breakfast at 5 am before leaving on the plane. The 1-1/2 hr flight took 4 hrs because of bad weather as we were initially diverted when they couldn't land. At lunch 12:30 pm after we landed, ate a cold lunch that would have tasted better heated and my salad w/ dressing and tahini paste. But for supper hubby went to Boston Market and got me roast chicken and beautiful steamed green beans. I made my salad from some tomatoes, carrots and cukes I brought. My DIL bought me some lettuce and s/f dressing so it made up a nice salad. Tomorrow I am packing lunch to take it with me. I am binge free and following my plan, very grateful and committed that I have a plan I love and that works for me. Abstaining from my binge food and binge behaviors through the grace of God is the most important action I take each day. By doing this, I am making myself available to my grand babies and son because they have a 65 yr old Boppi (grandma) who walked over 6 miles around DC this afternoon. I am pooped out and sleeping with the angels tonight. Over and out.

Mary, sorry about the fall, I hope you are on the mend. It sounds great that you are able to stay on plan while on vacation.

OK Tony, I stepped off and on the scale this morning. First step on was 250.1 the next 4 weights were 246.2 each time. I will take that number gladly I probably should determine one day of the week as weigh in day in order to change the stats on the profile. How about today, Friday? Doesn't mean I won't weigh in between, this will be for recording purposes only LOL.

On plan, nothing more to report right now. Rain is in the forecast AGAIN, tired of it.

Sounds like everyone is doing great! I just got back from my anniversary trip and even though I stayed straight, I was up 1 1/2 lbs. I was down 1/2 lb. of that this morning so..Yay!

Mary- So sorry about your fall. Proud of you for all the planning and will power you showed on trip!

Vicki- I think you're right to take the 246.2 with NO guilt. Four weighs should prove it's right!!

Vilya- Great on the walking. I still, been on Induction 2 wks and 4 days, have not started a REGULAR exercise plan. I have a lot of health issues so I am trying some different low impact exercises including walking short distances.

When I started 12 years ago, I couldn't even walk around my house. The thought was exhausting. Today, I walked 14,200 steps around DC. We parked and walked from the garage the whole lenth along the Washington Monument, Constitution Gardens, to the Vietnam Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial and the Korean Monument. Then back the way we came. We saw the reflecting pool, the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue. I don't ache tonight even though my knees are still sore. I am using my icy rub and it makes it feel cool, but I don't need ibuprofen tonight. When we got back, i went swimming with DIL and the 4 grand babies. I held the 11 month old and he kicked and splashed. We think it was his first time in the water. He loved it. I put a bathing suit on for the first time in a couple years and I might just let my son take a picture of me in it tomorrow. The only problem is the inner thighs. They just are a wrinkly mess but I don't see myself getting it corrected. It woukd be too painful and not worth it. I can live with it the way it is.

Some might think weighing my food is obsessive, but for me it is freedom. I don't have to guess and wonder and think about food all day. It is what it is, 3 meals a day, planned ahead, the amounts don't change and I get plenty of food. I am roughing it this weekend so for breakfast this morning, I had an ounce of soynuts and edamame nuts w/ wasabi (hot), an ounze of TVP with 4 oz greek yogurt & sweetener. My fruit was a huge apple. Very filling and satisfying. For lunch I had 2 oz chicken, 2 oz BBQ tofu, 8 oz steamed fresh green beans, 10 oz salad and a tbsp of dressing. For supper I had 4 oz roast chicken, 8 oz broccoli and carrot mix, 4 oz green beans and 14 oz salad with 3 tbsp dressing.

Have a good day everyone!

School is out just about everywhere except in New England. Please watch out for kids in the roads. Everyone, please enjoy whatever holiday you take.

I found out my DIL bought me sugar free dressing and I had been using it until last night. I just happened to read the ingredients and found out it was 10 calories. I thanked her and explained the reason I use dressing is to get the fat. Sugar cannot be in the top four ingredients, but I need the fat. I just might lose 1-2 lbs on this little jaunt what with all the walking and no fat...yuk!. I am going to McD's or BK today to buy some packets of dressing today...the real thing. They are good for something. When I get home, I am cooking up a pound of bacon and for my 4 oz protein am having 4 oz baked bacon in the oven. That is usually about 2/3 of a pound uncooked, depending on the crispy factor. I usually get the thick sliced hickory smoked store brand. Yum!
