Cindym, i am doing good, adjusting to being back to work. I had to work until 8 pm last night andq am have having a hard time getting up today. I am binge free and exploring the maintenance alley as I increase my calories by adding in more fat. Funny isn't it, when losing I added fat to help me oer the hump of hunger, then eventually had to watch both carbs and calories. Now with adding calories back in, the easiest way is to just change some low fat items with whole milk items or higher fat items. We will see if it works.

DD is doing good, shortly after her discharge, She applied for a job, started going to AA mtgs, interviewed and was hired the following week. She started 2 weeks ago and likes the new job. She is getting incolved in her AA groups, has a sponsor and seems to be focusing on taking care of herself. The car that broke down the day after she started work is finally working, but she had to walk to work a few days...2 miles each way...easy way to pkck 10,000 steps. I admire the determination she is showing to recovery. Please keep her in your prayers.

Good morning ladies!! The scale was so kind this morning. 290.8!! I'm going to get into those 280's come hell or high water!

Cindy: so glad to see you posting....I hope the craziness doesn't get to you food wise.....whenever I face a food I really want to eat , I stop and ask myself...is this really worth it? Then I think about all the things I have on my skinnier me bucket list...it helps!

Mary: glad to hear things are going well with you and your daughter

Lowcarbingme: I absolutely love Longhorn Steakhouse! I wish there was one in our city....the only one in our state is nearly 3 hrs away.

Frankie: I so happy there are people like you in this world! I'm sure you will do everything you can to make her last days on earth as good as possible.

Southernbelle: I can't wait to get to where you are at with exercise on a consistent basis

Lovely belle: how you doing after your drs appt?

Phranquie, it's kinda weird how it often work outs that the person you gave the hardest time is the one who has to help you in the end. Comforting through pain is rough work and emotionally draining. Hang in there! I'm doing the parking lot thing too which is far removed from my natural inclination to prowl for the closest spot lol. I'm also doing stairs instead of the elevator or escalator as long as it doesn't involve unfamiliar and creepy looking stairwells. Safety first!

Glad I could help thecloude! I did throw the Fitbit in the hamper a few times when I first got it, but now I just take it off at the same time I take off my jewelry.

I didn't have any opinion about clipping versus armband until I used it for a couple of weeks (btw, the One comes with an armband for sleep). Since I wear it all the time, it works better for me to be able to discreetly clip it to my underwear. I would not be wiling to wear an armband except when working out.

Congrats on your scale report!!! You're right there on the corner and I always love making that turn.

Thanks CindyM! I'm hanging in there!

Happy Wednesday ~ Wow this day just flew by. Had a breakthrough moment. Went to a luncheon meeting and the main course was way too carby and I didn't eat any of it .... had some veges and salad. My reward on the way back to the office was dry ribs from this awesome place (thankfully they do not use breading).

Mary ~ That is great news about your DD.

Michele ~ love the idea of a skinner me bucket list. Thanks for sharing the photos.

SouthernBelle ~ Woo Hoo to all the extra steps.

Chris ~ Looking forward to getting to know more about you.

Another crazy long day. We have a hospice company to help out a few hours a week now so that is going to be such a big relief. I am worn to the bone right now.

Cindy- WTG on passing up the carby lunch. I know that was hard to do. I go to a couple of rib places that do a dry rub and can chow down on some ribs,,,yum. That reminds me that I have a Groupon to on the the places.

Michele- I am glad the scale moved for you. Those 280's are so close! Love seeing the pics too.

Chris- Welcome!

SouthernBelle- I walk all the way across a whole shopping center to get to my car now so that I can get in my steps. I also walk back and forth in Walmart not caring if I missed something on the other side of the store cause that is just extra steps to get there.

Mary- Here is a link to the asparagus quiche with the spaghetti squash crust: Asparagus Quiche with a Spaghetti Squash Crust | Tasty Kitchen Blog

This thread is so great! I'm loving everyone's updates.

I'm going hiking this morning. Not far, only about 2 miles, but not a flat hike. Should be fun!

Thanks ladies ....weight was exactly the same this morning as yesterday so that's cool. I bought some shirts today at Walmart that are the same size I wear in Lane Bryant/Roamans and there was a huge difference!!! The ones from LB are practically falling off me but the ones I bought from Walmart are snug...too snug at the moment for me to be comfortable wearing them....I like my shirts loose to cover up the rolls...lol Anyway I'm going to keep them as they were cute cheap tshirts and I intend to be in them comfortably hopefully by the end of the summer

Villa: I can't wait to go hiking with my son...I'm so looking forward to that! I hope you had a great time!

Frankie: I'm glad you found some help

Cindy: Congrats on staying away from the carby stuff!!!

May I join in? According to the BMI chart I suspect I should lose 100 lbs but doubt that is realistic at 53. The lowest I got following LC back in 2008 was 168. I am shooting for 180 this time around.

My goal by July 4th would be:

Posting daily
Staying on plan
Losing 10 lbs hopefully.

Welcome Vicki. Back in 2091, I started this at 1 month shy if my 53rd birthday. The nurse asked me when I went in for my physical what weight did I want to shoot for? 170 lbs, she asked? Sure why not, I said. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would reach it and surpass it. Age is unimportant. Follow your heart and your plan one day at a time no matter what life throws at you and you will achieve all your personal goals.

Frankie ~ That is great that you will get some help.

How was the hike Vilya ?

Woo Hoo to your new clothes fitting perfectly Michele

Vicki- Welcome to the group. I agree with Mary that age does not have to determine how successful you will be. I am 52 and not letting it stop me. It can be more difficult especially if you have other health issues or are in menopause, but you should be able to lose at any age. Set a goal you are comfortable with and when you get there you can re-evaluate if you want to lose more.

Vilya- I hope the hike was fun.

Michele- Sizes have no consistency at all, not just the plus sized clothes, it is all of them. You just have to try clothes on or get pieces you like and then you'll eventually fit into them. It also depends on the style and cut as to how clothes will fit me. Keep trying those shirts on over the next few weeks and when they fit you'll have a good measure of how much you have lost.

Cindy- I hope you don't stress too much about work.

Welcome, Vicki! I think you're smart to set a goal that you feel is attainable. You can always adjust it later if you want to.

Just came back from a nice 2-mile walk with the doggies. Going out for dinner tonight, so I'm going to eat very lightly the rest of the day.

Thanks all for the warm welcome. My husband and I had our lab work and physicals done for life insurance application and I was 249.8 on the scale the nurse brought. She said it was pretty accurate since it is a WW scale. If so, woohoo, it's lower than mine. I weighed in at 252.8 this morning. It doesn't really matter to me that much anyways since it is my scale here at home that i will be consistently weighing in on.

A bit about me: My highest weight ever was 364 and I had my stomach stapled in 1997. I lost to the low 200's. I became pregnant and delivered in 99 at the age of 39+. I started regaining and had a gastric bypass in 2001 and lost to 180. A panniculectomy in 2002. I yo-yoed still until I got up to 228 in 2008 and started low carb and lost down to around 168. Hence, I have regained up to my current status. Mary, I know what you mean about gaining weight in different places after the panni; my weight settles heavily in my butt and thighs.

Thanks for sharing some of your story, Vicki.

I pray every day, I can be abstinent (stay on my plan) and grateful for my food and blessings. I only have today. I love that thought. The past is history and tomorrow is a mystery and today is a present (gift).

Woo Hoo ... it is Friday and yes, I am going to have a busy weekend but I really do love what I do.

Up at 5am tomorrow to set up for Farmer's Market from 8 to 12 in order to promote my event on Sunday

Truth is ... I'm not really a morning person but don't tell anyone.

Thanks Frankie ~ how are you doing?

Vilya ~ hope you enjoyed your dinner out

Vicki ~ Thanks for sharing a bit about yourself.

Hope you are having a good day Michele.

Just checking in today. I didn't weigh myself this morning because I forgot and had already drank some water. I did walk for about 50-55 minutes. I usually exercise 6 days a week varying my workouts between walking and exercise dvd's which incorporate wts, stretching, yoga etc. I also have various T-tapp dvd's too.

What exercises do others do? I see there is an exercise thread here also.

I forgot to mention that I wear a watch that counts my steps, calories burned and can take my pulse. So if I am hiking, I know when to take a breakif my puse gets too high and during the day I find myself looking at it to see how many steps I have. During the week I shoot for a minimum of 5k steps a day and on the weekend, it would be nice to do 19k steps each day. So far today I am at 8842 steps. 10 k is approx 4 mi for me.

Official weight for the week - 190.2. I gained .4, which I'm OK with. I didn't always make the best choices this past week.

Today is my event .... I'm stressed because the weather is cloudy and they are calling for rain (event is outside).

Lost my stepper half way through the Farmer's Market yesterday

Vicki ~ I also track steps, my goal for this challenge is 25,000 steps per week (meaning I have to get a stepper soon).

Michele, congrats to you, hope it sticks. I will have to see what Jawbone Up is. Do you have a heel spur? I have had those in the past and they hurt like the dickens.

Cindy and Mary, you guys are doing great with counting steps.

Vilya, .4 isn't bad. YOu will be heading in the other direction I am sure.

249.4 for me this a.m. Yahoo. I don't remember the last time I was in the 240s on my scale. Hope it sticks too.

Happy Monday ~ Feeling very grateful that it did not rain during my event and in fact we had intermittent sunshine

A friend had an extra stepper which I am using until I decide what type to buy

Time for weekly check in.

1. Post everyday. Only missed one day
2. Walk 25,000 steps per week. Steps were 33,905 and I was missing one day
3. Drink more water. Still struggling with drinking enough water
4. Weekly Progress Report (every Monday)Done
