Here....Again.

I am just coming back after a long, long absence. In fact I remembered being here but not my login until I saw a post from myself while reading success stories. How bizarre is that?

I had lost about 60 lbs and well, it's back too. I know I can do this one day at a time.

Anyway, I am here again and looking forward to giving and recieving support.

I am also coming back here after a long absence and weight gain ; ( I lost 40 pounds on Atkins in the past and regained (Boo!) At least you can be sure that there are other people out there that are on the same boat....one day at a time, like you said

Welcome back Darci! What's important is that you came back and are willing to try again. I am a re-tread too, coming back many times, never giving up until it sticks. Find a daily thread where you can post each day and get to know people who will support you and where you will feel accountable as this will really help you be motivated and stick to your plan.

Hi. Trying to post but am not sure I'm doing it correctly. If not, I apologize now. This is my second time to do Atkins. In 2004 I went from size 26 to 12, losing 110 lbs. I had a light stroke and was told by my doctor not to exercise until I grit my teeth. No kidding, that's what he said. I had to relax for a while and then I was afraid to go to the gym. So, I relaxed myself to a higher weight than when I started. I'm hoping this will be my miracle cure again as I have never had so much energy and felt as well as I did when I ate low carb! I have to do this; it's a matter of life or death now. I would appreciate any encouragement you can give . I also need help in navigating this site. If there are any members from years ago that remember the flax meal muffin recipe, I'd love to have it. Thank you for listening and if I posted incorrectly I'll be looking for a reply to tell me the right way.

I've enjoyed the support in the past too. I think thats good advice to find a daily thread too. I've always been drawn to 'The Century Club'...even though I am often a lurker or just make short comments, it's good to know that there are so many others out there experiencing the same obstacles. I have wondered what has happened to the people I use to 'follow' who were successful in their weight loss..whether or not they kept off the weight. I hope they have...it does seem to be common to fall off the Atkins wagon. I have soooo many times, but I get back on because it's the only WOE in which I don't feel deprived and I actually lose my appetite for several hours at a time...rather than several minutes! I hope this time around that the idea of losing weight doesn't consume my every waking thought...lol. I have been obsessed with it, rather than just making the WOE part of my everyday life and not a hobby.

So don't feel bad about the regain/restart...I'm there too...nothing else to do but keep trucking along....

Welcome Oncloud9now2! I just recently got back on this site so I've had to get use to the site as well....but it appears you posted correctly? Your previous weight loss is amazing...I hope to do that myself...I'm sorry for your health troubles...I've had some of my own that hinder progress. Perhaps Google low carb muffins? I'm sorry, I'm not the best person to ask about this since I don't look up recipes...lol. You may want to post on the main Atkins board or Recipe board your question...like 'Looking for Flax Meal Muffin Recipe'...in my experience usually someone will know how to direct you to the recipe.

Hi ladies! I am jumping back on the bandwagon too! We recently moved and have a beach nearby. My family wants to go to the beach a lot. But I HATE how I look in a bathing suit. I'm afraid that someone will try to push me back in the ocean yelling, BE FREE! Anyway, I know that Atkins has worked for me in the past. One time I was on it starting on Memorial day and by Labor Day I had lost 40 pounds! So I am hoping for a repeat performance. The weather is great here so no excuse that I can't go outside to take a walk or something. We went to the zoo today and we did a lot of walking. It was great to not be walking around as if I had lead feet. So anyway, I look forward to getting to know you ladies and hoping we can encourage each other on this journey.

Lovely, I found the muffins. They are Dobie Muffins. The recipe looks a little different now but I remember that name. Sponge Bob Muffins 'look' more like what I used to make. I will try both. Thanks for your help.

oncloud9now2- Glad you found your recipe...you must like it very much! I've never tried it. Like I said yesterday, I don't do the recipes often....I have done the low carb cheese cake....and a few others, but I keep things pretty simple...fry it, broil it, dice it...etc....I'm a single chick, and not use to cooking meals (part of why I gain weight through easy access junk food) Hope things went well with your grocery shopping ; ) I had to prepare for my first day too...I brought the book with me to the store and had a list...like preparing for battle! LOL....

IrishRose1975 I am so jealous of your beach access! I live inland and I miss living near water so much! I lived in Florida during high school and I miss the water...also have lived near the Great Lakes...it makes me sad to live so far away from water. Sounds like you had a nice time at the Zoo.
That would be awesome to lose 40 pounds by Labor Day. Perhaps we could have a Labor Day challenge? Nice meeting you too, and welcome back!

I found it! The original Dobie's Muffins recipe. They are so good and you feel like you're having a real muffin. Trust me, I don't cook much either. My sweet husband does all our meals. He loves to cook thank goodness. I can bake these because you just stir up ingredients and drop in a muffin pan. Taste like banana bread or banana nut bread if you add nuts. Yummy! You're right, the battle begins tomorrow morning!

Lunch- Pouch of tuna on 3 lettuce leaves w/ a teaspoon of mayo on top.
Want to make flavored water: a few slices orange, 2 slices lemon and fill pitcher with water. Does anyone think this would be bad for Atkins Induction? I promise not to eat the fruit!
