WOW Melinda and Eliza! our BABIES graduate this month :cry::cry::cry:
my emotions are overwhelming me!
anyone one remember hair like this?? though i didn't have the rollers i used rags
Well, I typed out a good sized post on the April thread (since it is April 30th after all) and after I clicked submit it gave me the message that the thread was closed.:dunno:I have never had that happen before....Oh, well. Guess what I had to say was not really that important afterall.:)
I remember those rollers! I was in my teens and would try anything to get my poker straight hair curly ( nothing ever worked!). like you I used rags and remember those flexible roller sticks were very expensive.
Had a really good thought that I was probably heavier and larger then than I am now :jumpjoy:
Loving this mad May thread!!
Marking my spot.
May May be beautiful for all of us. :)
Good morning and Happy May day! Today is my MIL's 88th birthday!
glad to see you KC and Eliza hoping today is a brighter day
Deb--I would suggest you go to a lawyer that is a disability specialist. There is info about it online, I think it's under the VA site. I had done some research due to my dh's problems. Luckily, his dr put him on light duty so he is having a little easier time but his bosses resent that he can't push 500 lb carts around. Unbelievable.
BTW, I'm keeping Ken in my prayers.
Ok, Melinda & Mona are MIA. Lony just checked in. Linda checks in every so often. Hope she pops in soon.
I sent you an email, Deb...:)
Well, Happy May Day to you all!!
It is pretty and mild out this morning. Actually, very pretty out. The Crabapple trees are full of gorgeous, fragrant, dark pink blossoms, grass is emerald green, trees are in various stages of leafing out, hostas coming up.....Azaleas will be following soon....and rain/storms forecast for today. The cold front from up Lony's way is heading our way today. We may have some snow mixed with rain tomorrow. In May!!!!!:eek:I am enjoying this weather adventure we have been on this year. There was some speculation at yesterday's track meet as to whether or not today's track meet would go on or not. Guess only time will tell, right?
Youngest did well at her meet yesterday. She was happy as she managed to shave a whole 1.2 seconds off of her 100 m race. She ran it for the first time on Monday and was in the 16 seconds finish time and yesterday finished at 15.7 seconds. She also ran the 400m and came in first in her heat and was finally able to race the 200m as we did not have to rush off to dance. It was a gorgeous day to be out at the Track and Field meet I must say.
Had to turn on my A/C last night after heating up the house by cooking meatloaf and roasted broccoli. Although, it was not Melinda hot :) as it was only 77 degrees inside but I was uncomfortably warm. Now, I do not find 77 uncomfortable outside but that is probably because there is usually a breeze blowing!
I have my aqua exercise class today. Ate dinner last night and have gained back the 3 lbs I had lost earlier in the week.:dunno::dunno: So, I am not happy on the weight loss front.
Deb, how is Ken this morning? I saw where Chewie suggested an attorney and I was going to recommend the same thing. My sister had to resort to using one after her initial filing was denied. With an attorney it went through.
KC--we have similar weather here although we're usually a little warmer. Our apple trees have already bloomed and gone to green. :) It is going to get cold here tonight too. Oh well, it'll be warm for a long summer so no biggie. We didn't turn off the fireplace pilot yet and dh said we may need it later or tomorrow. :)
Happy May everyone....
Deb...hugs to you.:console: Something will work out. It just has to.
It was 94 in the panhandle of Okla. yesterday. Tomorrow they will be down to freezing or below with snow. Crazy weather!!! We've had our air on also kcmama. Enjoy your water class!!!
Hello to our new friend. Welcome!!:welcome:
Melinda....I had both babies spend the night so I haven't had time to go to the office. I'll see you there tonight.
Chewie....Happy BD to your MIL. Are you baking a cake for her???
Hi to everyone I missed.
Sue, we will be celebrating MIL's bd on Sunday. I asked her what kind of cake she wants and she said a cheesecake with cherry pie filling to put on top. Easy peasy!
I just got home from taking ds14 for her driver's test permit. HE PASSED!!!! Woohoo!!! I also stopped at a Phillipine grocery store and bought almost an 11 lb bonita(fish.) It is giant and ds14 will clean it and then I'll marinate it so we can grill it on Friday. It is so cool!!!!
So ds14 and I went to Aldi's and bought 2 ten foot offset umbrellas for the backyard plus a dozen roses. Then we took them to MIL's. She was happy. DS14 drove. :) I wasn't even nervous although there really aren't that many cars on the road during the day.
Chewie, were these for MIL's birthday or for you?
HAPPY MAY DAY EVERYONE............
It is a beautiful 70+ deg out there and going to continue for the rest of the week and weekend. The azaleas are blooming, but all the flowers have dropped from their trees - looks like snow blowing around.
KC- maybe that 3 lb is muscle from the swim exercises. Sounds good to me. Kudos to you for signing up and going to them. It's all good for you.
Deb - Somedays it seems like the hits just keep coming. I'm so sorry about Ken's job. I've always heard they automatically deny disability the first time around. These gals just might be on target about using a lawyer. Praying for you and family.
Mona is MIA again - lol - she's got that gambling/gaming fever going on. Sure hope your bp has settled down.
Melinda - Now the car has died. It's always something it seems. I'm sorry you're having so many stresses. We have enough stress dealing with the food choices we have to make daily.
Chewie - That's one heck of a big fish. Have you had it before? Don't think I've ever heard of it - but - I'm not a big fish person - just the same old ones I use all the time. Wish I had your energy for cleaning. Just had a thought - you are really going to be enjoying that pool this year - a whole new you debuting. Congrats.
Sue - Nice to hear that Layla and Eli spent the night. I imagine they wear you out though. That's a lot of energy to harness - lol - if you can with little Eli.
Eliza- You work so much - glad to see you post when you can. Take care of yourself.
Lynn - I like all your family pictures. That's a great idea - let's you re-look at them and think of all those memories when the pict was taken.
Lony - I wondered where you got to. Although I know what a busy artistic lil gal you are. I was hoping you'd be popping back in real soon. What are you up to now - and next? You always have so many things rolling around in your noggin.
Take care all...............Linda
Then a small bowl of grah crack crumbs. Dip the cherry (with stem on) into the cr ch mix, then into the crumb mix. I'm hoping that will take care of my hunger for cherry delight. We'll see.
Lucky - I was glad to read that you didn't suffer any lasting effects from your fall. I kept wondering how you dent a wall and it doesn't do anything else. Surprised it didn't punch right through. Scares me something awful - even thinking of falling. What's the latest on your eye? If you said I missed it. Did you end up cooking all of those mushrooms? My b-i-l hunts for them every year. Thinks they are the absolute best things ever.
Linda, there were too many to cook at one time. My daughter, 2 grandsons, and my 92 year old mother were out last night. They didn't get much besides mushrooms. I worked all day, had the boys help me plant flowers, and then fried mushrooms. I fixed some broccoli and put out cottage cheese and called it good.
I think the dent in the wall was where I tried to catch myself and didn't. You really can't see it if you don't know where to look. It looks about the size of my fist.
I thinks my eyes are better, but I really don't know why. I need to make an appointment to go back to the DR.
My ds18 made a dent in the wall in my hallway with his head,. You can see it very well especially in the light at night. He hit his head very hard. LOL
45 minutes again on my bike. I think I'll do a few more days at this level before increasing. My butt and feet go numb. WHT is that about?
Wow--seems like I'm the only chatting on here. LOL
I made that cola bbq chicken for dinner. It comes out so moist and yummy. What did you have?
Chewie.....I don't care for cherries either. They are hubs favorite thing.
You are smoking on that bike!!!
Tonight was hamburgers steak, salad, and left over pot. salad with iced tea.
Tomorrow evening we will be wanting something warm!! The cold is on its way!!
Hi to all and sweet dreams.
It's GO THUNDER time!!!!!!!!
we are thinking Ken had a stroke last week he is losing movement in his whole right side he would not go to any ER yesterday he has an appointment with his VA doc tomorrow
i did not get him to go to the ER but if it was a stroke it happened Sunday before last when we thought he had a huge migraine that imetrex did nothing for. i wrote the symptoms down and will tell them to his VA doc tomorrow but honestly i do not see them doing anything for him thank you so much for your thought and candles keep them coming maybe we can get something done and minimize whatever damage there is
have you guys been on FB lately?
