what to do with the big clothes
i hadn't seen my mom since i'd lost weight, so she recently took me to a store and bought me a few items that were my new size. i was amazed (and so was my family) on how just wearing clothes that FIT can make you look so much smaller. i decided that my wardrobe needed an overhauling BUT i didn't want to waste money on clothes that, hopefully, won't fit for much longer.
i have a looooong way to go, though, so i decided... what did i have to lose! and i pulled out my sewing machine. i just sowed up the sides (a couple of inches) tapering up the sleeves (i winged it!), and lo and behold, i ended up with the greater part of a whole new wardrobe! i didn't sew anything fancy. i just sewed t-shirts, jammie pants, and things that i thought would look fine being taken in. i even tinkered with some denim skirts i had, and they look fabulous!
i am not a seamstress, by any stretch of the imagination. but i am certainly glad i tried sewing stuff in beFORE i wasted a lot of money at the store!
