Wow - already mowing the yard. Dh is making sounds about getting the mowers ready. We are so close to sea level here - the grass grows like crazy.

Did Ken's doc apt last Friday go ok? Thoughts for tonight - sorry to hear he's thinking it's going to be a hard night for him.

Awww thanks Linda. I wish I could find some size 18 Jeans that fit!
And I have had more than my fair share of cold weather.

I have been drinking one or two shakes a day and having a low carb dinner. These aren't the shakes you get at walfart, I have a friend who is having great success with them. I mix it with SF almond milk so each shake has about 130 calories and 8 carbs. I am kinda thinking it is because I am eating three times a day that is helping me have more energy to move it move it

his appointment last friday was with the "head" doc only i don't hink she has a doctorate she just wants to keep giving more and more pills and to tell you the truth never really helps him he keeps telling her about his memory problems and she just says aw you just don't pay attention UGh
no wonder veterans with PTSD have such hard times if she represents all the help we can expect
he got to video conference with one from far away once and seems like she might have helped but this is who he is assigned and i guess it is the best we can hope for

KC - what a nice story on your ds. My oldest was a real trial in his teen years. Now, he's always saying how sorry he is for all the heartache he caused. We had a long talk this weekend and I said to him - the important thing is that we made it through those years. That's all we can do - one day at a time...............and enjoy and savor those times when you see them maturing. You're a good mom - you'll make it through these years.

This just breaks my heart for him. And you. You know - we have a lot more vets coming home with so many problems - both physical and mentally. I don't have a lot of confidence in the VA anymore - with all that I read. This just should not be what they are finding when they ask for help. This is no way to treat our veterans.

I have tried making shakes, but still can't find one that I find palatable enough to keep drinking them. So far, the Atkins is not bad - just finally found the EAS, just put one in the fridge to try tomorrow. Any suggestions on what you are doing?

My sciatica is still giving me fits............can't sit any longer.............with all the rice packs, heating pads, I think I'm WELL DONE.............I know - tmi.........

Deb they told Mike to give up he would never walk again after both knees were distroyed. . He proved those idiots wrong. He is going to have to eventually have his army issue knees replaced but there is no way we are going to go through the VA. In fact the last time he was in a VA hospital was 40 years ago when he walked out on his own legs.

Linda...I LOVE the dark choc. Atkins shake. Have you tried it? The Mocha isn't bad either. I can't take the strawberry or vanilla ones.
